The unexplained

Anyone ever witnessed something move on its own?!

Hi all,
So a friend has had a few goings on and things being knocked around or almost thrown in her house. Also, things going missing and reappearing! What can this be put down to, if spirits don’t exist?!
I think I’m a believer and am curious.
Has anyone else ever had anything move in front of them, in their home?

I did once actually, i used to smoke and would sit on the floor each evening watching tv with the astray on the carpet nearby (classy) and i remember one night i saw a white movement out of the corner of my eye and when i looked down an old fag end (white, they were menthol) was lying on the carpet about a foot away. I hadnt got one lit at the time and often wonder how it came to fly out like that 😃

I once saw the salt grinder move round in a circle on my kitchen worktop, not sure I have an explanation for that it wasn't near anything to Make it move on its own.
I was once doing some hammering, I stopped the heard the pipes near me sounding like a hammer in the same pattern back, very strange.

I walked into a room to see a book levitating a foot off the bedside table. I shouted “shit” and it dropped straight down with a thud

As a teen I saw a hairbrush slide very deliberately off my dressing table. It wasn't near the edge. Weirdly it didn't frighten me but I've never forgotten it.

We once stood in an upstairs room of a National Trust Property in Conwy North Wales, just the on duty Guide, My Husband and Myself talking about the history of the place when a Leather Pitcher suddenly fell over off a Dresser and onto the floor, settling off the security alarm.

These were heavy sturdy items, over Two century’s old at the time, there was no vibration from anywhere, nobody near to them, and the Guide was clearly spooked by what we all witnessed, and rang her supervisor to report what had happened and to get the Alarm reset.

The town centre within the walls is reputed to be Haunted, it was broad daylight at the time, but being Late season, there was little footfall, and very little in the way of Tourists around.

I have had an almost identical experience to this, but it was a scrunchie that slid off! I wasn't scared either and I still can't explain it as I don't believe in ghosts.

Yes. I worked in an old house that had been turned into offices. Found secretary sitting in my office once when I came back from lunch. Asked her why and she told me her office had gone freezing cold (that house had issues, shall we say) so left and closed the door. We went to the security camera terminal and could see her keyboard being, well, played with. With no one in there (we heard it first).

In a holiday home in Anglesey, I saw the arm lift up and over and the needle go down onto the vinyl disc on a record player, which was turning. It wasn't plugged in.

Yes ... it turned out to be a tortoise which happened to be in a rockery not a rock forming part of the rockery. I'd never been to this person's house before and had no idea they had a tortoise

One of the kids had an electronic peppa pig toy. There were electronic pads on her hands and they had to have skin contact with both pads to work. It only sang its song if both pads were touched. It bloody went off in the middle of the floor when I was at home alone. Freaked me out! I'm used to their electronic toys going off randomly, but this was different.

I worked at a care home and one night 3 huge canvas pictures of a deceased resident flew off the wall and landed in front of me. They didn't slide down the wall like you would expect if they were dislodged, they flew 2 foot at a right angle to me.

I wrote a thread on here at the time as I was so freaked out and everybody basically took the piss out of me!

I had this in my early teens, a rubber somehow fell off my dressing table when I wasn't anywhere near it. it was towards the back and no way it could have been knocked or just slipped off the front of the dressing table and across the floor.

Also a couple of years ago I was watching TV in my livingroom and something caught my eye next to the fireplace. It freaked me out and I ran out the room, when I went back in a feather was on the carpet exactly where I had 'seen' something.

Yeah. When I was about 11. First night in a new house and while I was lying in bed, my doll slid up the wall next to me. It wasn't a dream but I can't really explain what happened except that it did 🤷‍♀️

Yes. Sometimes when he's really bothered by something, my eldest teen gets up out of his chair and sorts it out. It's quite unnerving.

Looking around a house I was considering buying. It was empty but had random crap in it. It was quite old and had a weird atmosphere but it was in a nice area and close to work.

Went upstairs to look around and heard a weird dragging noise... Couldn't figure it out until we went into the master bedroom and a dust sheet was moving around the floor. My partner figured there was some kind of animal under it and lifted it up.

Not a fucking thing. We left very quickly!

As a teenager I had a wardrobe that I had to pull really hard on to open as the wood had become warped. Was sitting on my bed one day and the wardrobe door just flew wide open.

I stayed in a supposedly haunted holiday cottage. We heard footsteps coming up the wooden staircase every night and every morning the mantel clock was on the left of the mantelpiece instead of in the centre where it had been. I put it down to just being an old unlevel house.
The next night I stayed up late alone reading, got a really unsettled feeling and went freezing cold. I checked the time and the clock had moved not only right to the end of the mantelpiece, but over two ornaments as well. I didn't stay up alone after that.

I had a desk in an attic room that I studied at most days. I had been given a beautiful pen and I loved writing with it. I placed the pen on my pad and went to the toilet. On returning it had gone! I looked everywhere. Shook the pad looked on floor behind desk etc etc...

The next morning I went back to the attic. The pen was placed on top of my pad. No-one else was in the house.Confused

It was horrifying @FibroFighter81 and @Pieceofpurplesky

Literally never want to experience anything like that again.

What freaks me out most about it sliding up the wall (up towards the ceiling) is that something made it do that. But what!? Shock

The day after my brother passed away in the same room where he died, an ornament flew horizontally off the shelf across the room. We were sat down & all the doors were closed. We. Both saw it happen it was right in front of us. My mouth dropped open but my dad carried on talking like nothing had happened.

Just remembered another odd one. During the week after my ex MIL passed away (I say because I think it was her!) I was standing in the kitchen straightening my hair in the mirror, nobody else in the house, and heard a click off to my left hand side. The kettle, which was a good three feet away, had been switched on and was starting to boil!

My son's shoes were in his pram in the hall. I was sat in the living room with door to the hall open. Something jumped upwards out the pram out the corner of my eye, I went to look and it was his shoe. Another time I was on the toilet late one night, a toothbrush on the sink just rolled over by itself.

I heard a smurf toy tune la la la la la and as I approached my GD’s bedroom her doll’s pram which she left just outside her bedroom door rolled about 3ft past me.

I was alone at my DD’s house while she had taken GD to pick up GS from school.

In the middle of one night DD heard a musical toy go off in the family room, she got up to turn it off and a toy train started moving behind her with its music blaring.

It’s not an old house and lots of things have happened there.
