I've missed something somewhere. I'm picking up its a bit sardonic? Or sarcastic?

It's like "no comment" I think.

I was hoping for a tale about haunted biscuits.

Me too Tormund. A possessed jaffa cake at the very least.

Sorry.

It's a mystery to me where AIBU ever is. The only one I can never find! Maybe that's a bit ghostly? The shifting topic? Hence here.

I think it goes back to a pre election web chat when one of the party leaders, Gordon brown refused to answer a question about his favourite biscuit!
I could be wrong though. BlushBiscuit

Biscuits do disappear in to thin air in my house. Box still there, empty.

To me it means "I'm not even going to digify that with a response, other than have a biscuit, and fuck off!"

I thought it meant 'you take the biscuit'

You know the Mars Bar advert with Joan Collins?

Well it's basically that, I think anyway...

It comes from an infamous webchat before the election (not this one, previous ge) when the leaders were asked for their favourite biscuit.

Gordon Brown refused to answer, perhaps he thought the question beneath him?

Eventually (a couple of days later) when it had become noticed by the press and talked about he got his Campaign manager to release a statement declaring his fav. biscuit.

And it has since passed into history, as being used as "fgs, really?!"

Great name btw - have just finished binge watching all 3 series of Under the Dome!

I've also heard people claim it looks like
(i) a cats-bum-face mouth a la Judgy McHoikypants
(ii) an arsehole

It's also much more important if it's the first biscuit a poster has given.

I'm with Bay Leaves. I either read it as "oh do fuck off" or "FFS! Really?!"

Huh, wow, so multiple meanings really!

"Fgs", "no comment", "you're taking the biscuit," as well as "you need a biscuit my love."

Is it just mumsnet?

Actually, I often call people who are being sneaky a jammy dodger.

When I use it on a thread it very clearly has one meaning and one meaning only. And that is FUCK RIGHT OFF.

Pardon my French.

It isn't no comment. It's 'really? You're having a laugh cos you're totally unbelievable/irrational/batshit' I thought anyway.

OK I will grudgingly admit that I have used a biscuit to mean "you have got to be kidding me" once or twice as well.

I've noticed it in relation to threads where they suspect it's a DM troll. A delicate

Biscuit.

So most of the above works there.
