In the absence of staff and her fabulous thread titles and witty openers here is a 67th thread. The broom cupboard is overflowing so time for another Republic. Hopefully we hear from staff soon.

Stolen from thread 66.
'You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement for school staff to let off steam.

Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

Do not give the staffroom password to non-staff as it attracts the wrong sort of crowd.

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.'

Has anyone seen a CO2 monitor??

ChloeDecker · 07/10/2021 19:11

Nope Piggy! Our Science labs have always had them apparently but nothing new from the DforE
For anywhere else.
No news on us doing Covid vaccines either.

Fucking shambles

DollyMixtureLulus · 07/10/2021 19:14

Has anyone seen a CO2 monitor??

Half expecting to have to appoint a sensible P7 Hmm

MrsHamlet · 07/10/2021 19:18

I think our CO2 monitors are lost in the mail with y13 Bob's essay that was due in a week ago

DenbyChina · 07/10/2021 19:51

Has anyone seen a CO2 monitor??

Are we supposed to have these? Barely have pens and books already.

TheHoneyBadger · 07/10/2021 20:23

Nope piggy.

Haven’t even seen sanitiser this term though

chocolateisavegetable · 07/10/2021 20:32

No CO2 monitors here. There are still signs up telling us to wipe the photocopier etc after we've used it, but no wipes are available. There is a rota for cleaning toilets, but no gloves available. Sigh.

AnInspectorBores · 07/10/2021 20:37

No CO2 monitors here, either. Kids being very understanding about my insistence on keeping windows open when I explain that one in twenty of them, statistically, has Covid ATM.

13luckyblackcats · 07/10/2021 20:38

I have a CO2 monitor!

13luckyblackcats · 07/10/2021 20:40

Buuut I spend half the day fishing things out of children's mouths so I'm not sure it's much help?!

13luckyblackcats · 07/10/2021 20:50

The article says special schools have been prioritised so that explains why we've got them.

noblegiraffe · 07/10/2021 20:52

Well duh, of course they aren't doing any contact tracing in schools. It doesn't count, only social contact like sleepovers. It's in their bloody guidance, why is anyone surprised?

Piggywaspushed · 07/10/2021 20:52

It actually says they ask about after school clubs though! FFS.

MrsHamlet · 07/10/2021 20:56

We've got an outbreak linked to the community football team... we only know because the parents told us

TheHoneyBadger · 07/10/2021 20:58

All rather laughable if not so depressing. Zahawi thinks 25k is nearly 30k. Those of us living on very limited incomes don’t take 5k that lightly.

Is he one of the majority of mps who are millionaires?

JanglyBeads · 07/10/2021 21:04

Parents Utd in partnership with the Good Law Project have got agreement from DfE that schools could potentiwlly authorise a child’s absence if they’re CEV or have a family member who is! Major victory for them:

noblegiraffe · 07/10/2021 21:04

Yes, he has a large property portfolio.

HarrietDVane · 07/10/2021 21:04

Very much so, Honey. He's absolutely loaded. £5k is small change to him.

noblegiraffe · 07/10/2021 21:11

By the time we get the CO2 monitors and the vaccines, the kids will all have had covid anyway.

MsAwesomeDragon · 07/10/2021 21:20

No co2 monitors here. We're wearing masks in corridors, but we're still happy to go ahead with an annual church service for 300 kids plus lots of staff today. Wear masks until you sit down in this crowded church with no ventilation other than the drafts.

Piggywaspushed · 07/10/2021 21:20

Possibly this was the plan.

ChloeDecker · 07/10/2021 21:24

By the time we get the CO2 monitors and the vaccines, the kids will all have had covid anyway.

‘Tis the evil plan…

ChloeDecker · 07/10/2021 21:27

X-post!

Frlrlrubert · 07/10/2021 21:35

Regarding Bob. I first came across it on here.

One of my colleagues said 'he's a Bob' about a kid the other day and I thought she'd just outed herself and a mner, until she added 'Bag of bombs, could go off at any time'.

Have you guys heard that one?
