Sixty Seventh Republic - under temporary guardianship

In the absence of staff and her fabulous thread titles and witty openers here is a 67th thread. The broom cupboard is overflowing so time for another Republic. Hopefully we hear from staff soon.

Stolen from thread 66.
'You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement for school staff to let off steam.

Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

Do not give the staffroom password to non-staff as it attracts the wrong sort of crowd.

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.'

Well done Herc, we owe you.

eitak22 · 03/10/2021 21:42

Just marking my place and back from my DN birthday so can provide cake and tapas (none of which has been anywhere near blowing out of candles).

AttaGirrrrl · 03/10/2021 21:44

I’m not actually allowed into a Staffroom for another few days. Can I lurk on the edge until I’m no longer contagious? I promise to wash my mug carefully and tell you the location of the secret supply of sanitiser and masks.

JanglyBeads · 03/10/2021 21:46

Thanks so much Herc!

The Evening Standard is reporting Zahawi as having hinted to a pre conference meeting that he may have to reintroduce masks in classrooms.

JaffavsCookie · 03/10/2021 21:49

Cheers Herc, another hoping Staff is ok.

winewolfhowls · 03/10/2021 21:54

If you're lurking staff, hope you are ok Flowers i really look forward to reading these threads as a de-stressing tool, although I'm mostly a lurker, grateful to you for keeping it going so long.

MrsHamlet · 03/10/2021 21:56

Beachhuts90 · 03/10/2021 22:14

Thanks for the new thread!

HarrietDVane · 03/10/2021 22:15

Thanks Herc! Hope you're ok Staff Thanks

Mistressiggi · 03/10/2021 22:17

Thanks for thread.
I am starting to wonder if Staff actually was Gavin Williamson, and so has headed on to pastures new...

noblegiraffe · 03/10/2021 22:18

Thanks Herc, mine's a pina colada...wait, no, this isn't a luxury spa?

CarrieBlue · 03/10/2021 22:21

Thanks for the new thread Herc, I’m contemplating mulled wine it’s that chilly tonight!

noblegiraffe · 03/10/2021 22:22

Sorry Jan

noblegiraffe · 03/10/2021 22:27

Honestly, you left me 4 posts on the old thread and it was just too tempting!

Appuskidu · 03/10/2021 22:39

Thanks for the new thread. A bit worried about Staff though-hope all is ok there.

Have a good week everyone-three weeks to go. Am resisting the very strong temptation to make use of the October 31st resignation date.

I can’t, I know I can’t, but I really bloody wish I could.

Mistressiggi · 03/10/2021 22:50

Every day is resignation day up here, not sure if that makes it better or worse Grin
Staff couldn't have been banned without us knowing about it?

noblegiraffe · 03/10/2021 22:52

She'd been posting less and less, sometimes only to start a new thread so maybe was weaning herself off?

JanglyBeads · 03/10/2021 23:16

Yes she was

JanglyBeads · 03/10/2021 23:16

(Posting less and less)

Mistressiggi · 03/10/2021 23:34

..you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.
Surely Grin

DreamingofBrie · 04/10/2021 00:26

Thank you Herc, and keeping a seat warm for Staff. Medra, sorry to hear you've had a stressful time.

We've got 2 weeks to go here (2 week half-term) and I feel done in already. No motivation and moving at snail's pace through my work. Can't face the three pieces of 6th form marking coming in tomorrow Sad.

motherrunner · 04/10/2021 05:49

Morning all!

Thanks for being honorary Staff. @Hercisback.

We’re in October but today will be the first time I meet my Yr 7 drama class. In Yr 7 they only have drama once per fortnight and so far we haven’t taught on a Monday Week A due to mass testing and then the entrance exam.

borntobequiet · 04/10/2021 06:26

Monday Week A. That brings back memories, including bad ones of groups with double lessons on a Monday who seemed to miss so much time due to Bank Holidays.
