You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement for school staff to let off steam.

Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

Do not give the staffroom password to non-staff as it attracts the wrong sort of crowd.

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.

Stop giving yourself ivermectin, you're not a horse, says the FDA.

Piggywaspushed · 23/08/2021 08:25

I was asked to take part in an ivermectin trial.... I declined.

noblegiraffe · 23/08/2021 08:30

I'd assume they would at least give you the version meant for humans on a trial.

Weird that some people will go 'I don't trust the vaccine, it's not properly tested so I'm going to load up on horse de-wormer instead'.

twinkletoesimnot · 23/08/2021 08:36

Dh should be ok with the amount of it he's splashed on himself / injected when worming cattle over the years 😂

noblegiraffe · 23/08/2021 08:48

Has he had covid, twinkle? If not, then there's all the proof you need.

twinkletoesimnot · 23/08/2021 08:51

No he hasn't!

None of us ( 2 adults, 3 adult children (2 not at home) 2 teens and a 7 year old) have.

Yet .....

borntobequiet · 23/08/2021 08:53

Listerine mouthwash is my go-to against infection. I have a totally illogical faith in it. It helps that I use it anyway, so no extra effort on my part.

JanglyBeads · 23/08/2021 09:05

There was something (scientific, I think) about mouthwash helping prevent COVID I read!!
Will see if can find it

JanglyBeads · 23/08/2021 09:08

It could kill it in your mouth but that doesn’t help your nose:

noblegiraffe · 23/08/2021 09:16

So we also need to stick Listerine up our nose. Got it, thanks Jan 👍

ChloeDecker · 23/08/2021 09:17

@Hercisback

That NQT thread is quite funny. "buy a load of verbal feedback stamps" is excellent. Grin
Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Where’s the thread? Could do with a laugh!

noblegiraffe · 23/08/2021 09:22

It's Piggy's ASBOteacher twitter link a few posts back.

borntobequiet · 23/08/2021 09:43

Long before feedback stamps became a “thing” - sometime in the mid 90s - I ordered a stamp for the department that said Bollocks. It was quite cathartic. (I seem to remember it was at about that time that pointless paperwork started increasing exponentially, despite assurances that we would soon be a paperless school. I attribute this development to bigger and better printers, plus a lack of faith in email.)

borntobequiet · 23/08/2021 09:44

I briefly - very briefly - considered using it as a sinus wash.

CallmeHendricks · 23/08/2021 09:50

For their Secret Santa gift a few years back (before it was banned) someone got a stamp that said, "I haven't got time to read this shit."

Piggywaspushed · 23/08/2021 10:02

Oh, that is brilliant!!! I want one!!

GuyFawkesDay · 23/08/2021 10:11

I want a stamp with WTF on it

Standing for “working towards failure” of course.

Peter Openshaw pointing out cases will surge as schools return, also that schools now will be drivers of transmission:

JanglyBeads · 23/08/2021 11:01

Yup but has anyone told Gav the Secretary of State for Education?

noblegiraffe · 23/08/2021 11:08

More people should follow this Gav Secretary of State for Education parody account. Always makes me laugh.

twitter.com/williamson_no/status/1428989150703849473?s=21

And "Grade inflation? Or the best outcomes because you have the best education secretary ever? You decide."

Piggywaspushed · 23/08/2021 12:25

Oh, I follow a different Gav parody account!

Piggywaspushed · 23/08/2021 12:27

Who is the creepy arsehole in the orange trunks who comments at the end of that TES article????? Envy
