You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

Do not give the staffroom password to others just in case it attracts the wrong sort

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation. Do not sit on the chairs and wear a mask.

Hope you've had a good day with Ofsted Crackle and Carrie's DH. I've experienced Ofsted once as a teacher (in 6 years... we are due again Confused). I was observed teaching maths and interviewed by the inspector. I was really nervous and had that class (the one that everyone strives to avoid). I am fairly certain the inspector had already made up their mind about our rating before they ever set foot in the school.

Just read that lovely article white! Awww

JanFebAnyMonth · 02/03/2021 17:43

@Saucery

I think it’s for the scientific reason that the LFTs are a pile of shite as well.
But community LFTs don't require PCR confirmation now, do they?
Piggywaspushed · 02/03/2021 17:45

I sent an email to an SLT today with no exclamation marks or apologies for bothering them!

Be proud !

MrsHamlet · 02/03/2021 17:51

We're very proud Piggy

HarrietDVane · 02/03/2021 17:52

Well done Piggy. It's hard not to be self-deprecating if that's the way you're made.

noblegiraffe · 02/03/2021 17:53

Can we have a vote on whether it's
Piggywaspushed
Or

I vote Piggywaspushed.

Mistressiggi · 02/03/2021 17:57

Piggywaspushed · 02/03/2021 17:57

Piggywaspushed · 02/03/2021 17:58

At New Year, I changed it to Piggywaspished and no one noticed!

TheHoneyBadger · 02/03/2021 17:58

Maybe it's so they can see what variants are showing up in schools?

Thanks to those who said nice things earlier. Been kind of down and anxious all day. Could be a few things though, new pills, work anxiety and if it's not tmi I seem to be peri menopausal and recently had short cycles but am on day 33 this time with no period yet.

Jan have you pointed out that they've ignored your hours?

TheHoneyBadger · 02/03/2021 18:01

Well done piggy. I've got to build up to not spending my meeting apologising and taking the blame for everything down to the invasion of Poland

piggywaspushed · 02/03/2021 18:03

Oh I'd probably say it wasn't me and then 'they' would all look at me with that 'yeah but it was really' look.Grin

JanFebAnyMonth · 02/03/2021 18:10

Honey you are NOT Adolf Hitler!!!!

JanFebAnyMonth · 02/03/2021 18:11

Apparently an email from the Dep Head may be coming my way. It was my usually helpful boss who told me, and the way she did it just reminded me that her mum is dying at the moment, iyswim......

WarriorN · 02/03/2021 18:54

My 8 yr old has hit a wall now. Resilience is dwindling, poor thing. He's done so well considering everything. (He didn't get a school place. It's peeved me a little when part time friends with kids who have been in school have been more vehement about it all than we have!)

JanFebAnyMonth · 02/03/2021 19:01

Poor mini Warrior. Remind us, has he been home with yr DH whilst you've been in school?

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 02/03/2021 19:04

Piggy for a while I read your name as PiggyPugwashed - work that out!? 😳

HercwasanEnemyofEducation · 02/03/2021 19:16

pussy I did the same. Funny how our brains scan letters and assume the rest!

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 02/03/2021 19:18
Grin
Piggywaspushed · 02/03/2021 19:22

Was the ship not called something to do with pigs In Captain Pugwash?

CarrieBlue · 02/03/2021 19:26

DH’s school passed Ofsted (there’s only pass/fail with covid provision at the moment)

HarrietDVane · 02/03/2021 19:34

That's great news Carrie - hopefully that means they won't be back for a while.

MsAwesomeDragon · 02/03/2021 19:44

My 11yo has hit the wall this week as well. Yesterday she was incredibly teary, today she's been moody, put very little effort into a "fun" task and then cried when I said she could make it better. I don't think I handled it particularly well, but dh stepped in and helped her improve it once I'd gone back to my desk. I'll be very glad when she gets back to some normality at school. We'll be back to our childcare bubbling as well (we haven't done it while schools have been closed because neither of us have needed childcare), so she'll have her friend here on Monday morning to walk to school with, and then her friend is coming home with her again after school. So that'll be nice for her.
