You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

Do not give the staffroom password to others just in case it attracts the wrong sort

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation. Do not sit on the chairs and wear a mask.

Thank you Feisty Staff!

Appuskidu · 01/03/2021 22:21

Thanks, @StaffRepFeistyClub

Ofsted are bastards-I thought I’d say it just one more time.

TheHoneyBadger · 01/03/2021 22:25

Blimey crackle - that is truly insane.

Thanks for the new thread staff and apologies for using up much of the end of the last one with my moaning.

Just taken the dog out for a walk and now curling up in bed. Tomorrow is unmistakeable non work day as I don't teach any lessons in it - half of my issues may be that I do -4 over 3 days so people forget I'm only paid for two days. I may be being over generous there. Not sure they really forget so much as happily overlook.

Misread yr NC for a moment staff and wondered if we'd all secretly been enrolled in the Tufty Club 🐿
Thanks

Pig how's yr DH feeling post -jab? Which one did he have?

I went all cold yesterday afternoon, felt a little better by bedtime and feel fine today, arm too. But apparently reactions tend to be stronger with second dose of Pfizer, opposite way round with AZ.

MsAwesomeDragon · 01/03/2021 23:04

Thanks staff. We really do talk a lot, don't we?

Iamnotthe1 · 01/03/2021 23:05

Thanks Staff

Jan I've had the first Pfizer. My arm was very sore and my body has felt a bit weak and achy but not to a huge degree. I got a few random itchy patches though that vanished after about half an hour each.

JanFebAnyMonth · 01/03/2021 23:20

Oh yeah have heard about itchy! Onwards and upwards.

Let's hope by the end of this thread many more have had invites/jabs.

One of our school leadership's v good ideas is happening over the next three days: TEAMS 'drop in' sessions hosted by SLT, where you can log in and ask any question relating to the return. Great idea I think.

noblegiraffe · 01/03/2021 23:22

Omg Jan you can’t go calling other people Pig Shock

You’ll be calling me Nob next...

Frlrlrubert · 01/03/2021 23:44

Thanks Staff.

Can believe the Ofsted Crackle, madness!

One of my colleagues has gone a bit mad with the job hunting, she's going to have us all employed elsewhere before the redundancy consultation at this rate (which would serve the Head right tbh).

SquashedFlyBiscuits · 02/03/2021 00:19

Ofsted - yikes!

DreamingofBrie · 02/03/2021 01:20

Thank you Staff.

borntobequiet · 02/03/2021 05:36

This may not be a popular view but I’ve never had an unpleasant encounter with Ofsted and I’ve been teaching a long time in more than one sector. I’d far rather have an Ofsted inspector in my lesson, who can recognise learning when they see it, than some SLT numpty with no clue about the subject I’m teaching and an obsession with the latest fad. I found completely ignoring SLT diktats resulted in good or outstanding Ofsted feedback, with the added bonus of pissing them off.
