You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give the staffroom password just in case it attracts the wrong sort

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

I have had most of the day off, uni work tomorrow ready for a presentation Monday and school bits Sun. Adore my current placement school though, so it's all fine.

MrsHamlet · 19/02/2021 19:23

I'll buy your overpriced goats cheese, honey and staffs gin. I'm a sucker for artisan

StaffRepFeistyClub · 19/02/2021 19:29

@MrsHamlet - there will be a feisty club/republic discount 👍🏻

Didn’t BoJo say he was going to follow the science?

Clearly he has thought bollocks to that let all school just crack on. He has one chance not to fuck this up.

All this 'these dates will only be possibilities depending on the data at the time' - isn't that what he said on 10 May, before sticking rigidly to the announced dates?

MrsHamlet · 19/02/2021 19:46

He talks shite.

TheHoneyBadger · 19/02/2021 19:50

Irreversible seems to have been dropped. Wtf that word was doing ever being in the mix is beyond me.

HarrietDVane · 19/02/2021 20:41

Good grief, that thread!

I like Bombay Sapphire. Gordon's pink gin is also very nice, especially in summer. I once had a class so generous with their end of year gifts that I didn't have to buy any gin for a year. They were a good bunch Grin

Piggywaspushed · 19/02/2021 20:43

I knew from the minute Johnson said 'from 8 March' that he meant 8th March.

It's the opposite with schools from the rest of the time when he says 'everything over by...'!

CallmeAngelina · 19/02/2021 20:52

Blimey - I missed all the gin talk, because it was my turn to create gin masterpieces for everyone here. DH (who is a recent convert to the whole gin thing) wanted pink rose stuff, ds wanted blueberry, dd wanted Gordons and I would have LIKED the Hendricks I was given for Christmas (with lime and cucumber) except when I got to the cupboard IT WAS ALL GONE!!!!!

namechangedyetagain · 19/02/2021 20:59

@CallmeAngelina I hope you've started an investigation!
I've gone for a mixed berry gin. But feeling very guilty that I still have work to do and should be doing something.
Wonder if I can add this thread to my CPD?

MrsHamlet · 19/02/2021 21:03

Standard 8 definitely includes gin.

HercwasanEnemyofEducation · 19/02/2021 21:07

I'm on the sainsburys gin now, don't want to waste the really good stuff when I'm slightly pissed.

waves hello to the staffroom stalkers

JanFebAnyMonth · 19/02/2021 21:08

I'm gonna have to get out the port I bought myself at Christmas aren't I?

namechangedyetagain · 19/02/2021 21:13

Am rather tempted to have another couple and then start writing my personal statement Grin

And yes get the port out @JanFebAnyMonthWine

ChloeDecker · 19/02/2021 21:14

I'm gonna have to get out the port I bought myself at Christmas aren't I?

DH and I were just saying today that we had had none of the port that we had bought for Christmas yet! Think tomorrow I might have some cheese and port Grin

noblegiraffe · 19/02/2021 21:22

Oh Jan, I was nodding my head in solidarity when you said you didn't like gin, but you've gone and ruined it by liking port.

I'll be opening the Prosecco later. Love Prosecco.

TheHoneyBadger · 19/02/2021 21:22

Ooh port.

I'm now tempted to pour a gin myself. Tesco gin - you've made me feel a little better about that Herc with your Sainsbury's gin Grin

I need to take the dog out for a last wee and then I shall pour myself one.

GuyFawkesDay · 19/02/2021 21:24

Sainsbos taste the difference gin is superb for the price.

I make my own sloe/hedgerow gin. It's yum, I take no credit though because it's all about the berries we are lucky enough to have round here.

Northern ladies: Lytham gin is delicious. I was bought some at Christmas (originally from there) and they use samphire in it. It's gorgeous. Like a beach walk in a glass.

Bojo is just doing WTF he feels like isn't he? Following the data, I think not....

noblegiraffe · 19/02/2021 21:25

I need to take the dog out for a last wee and then I shall pour myself one

Do not pour yourself a cup of wee.

HercwasanEnemyofEducation · 19/02/2021 21:26

Isn't it guy, I have a naice gin and then the rest are sainsburys!

DH is desperate to do his own sloe gin, we really need to find some sloes.

MrsHamlet · 19/02/2021 21:29

Excuse me ladies... all this talk of gin is detailing the talk of Chris.

I have been very bad and am having a weeny amaretto gin. It's odd. Not unpleasant. The Lytham one sounds good.

MrsHamlet · 19/02/2021 21:29

*derailing

GuyFawkesDay · 19/02/2021 21:30

@HercwasanEnemyofEducation totally agree. The pomegranate one I don't like bit the orange one is lush too.

Chris Hemsworth and a good gin. Life is complete!
