You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give the staffroom password just in case it attracts the wrong sort

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

Our Head’s just emailed to say LEA’s told them remote learning for years 7-10.

Piggyinblankets · 30/12/2020 17:31

One of our feeder schools is in contingency zone.

SmileEachDay · 30/12/2020 17:31

Maybe the army could do something with them Piggy?

Piggyinblankets · 30/12/2020 17:31

Get the script , Boris : it's 'as safe as they can be'.

Monkeytennis97 · 30/12/2020 17:32

I live in it and my school is in it. Is it just for primaries?

RigaBalsam · 30/12/2020 17:33

@CallmeAngelGabriel

Boris ACTUALLY just said that "schools are safe."

Lying FUCKER. Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

😡😡😡😡😡
starrynight19 · 30/12/2020 17:33

How the hell can he stand there and say schools are safe
Angry Angry Angry

DrMadelineMaxwell · 30/12/2020 17:34

Oh my God!

'Schools are safe'.

But pupils mixing is a problem.

How are the 2 separate?

Boxachocs · 30/12/2020 17:34

I think all teachers should take ourselves off for tests once a week, that should sort the problem as schools won’t be able to be open. Better than a strike, we all go for a test on the same day, all at once. A good few of us will probably have it and then be off.

MrsHamlet · 30/12/2020 17:34

Boris makes me stabby. Lying cunt.

DecemberStar · 30/12/2020 17:34

So the Contingency Framework is them trying not to admit that they're closing schools.

That UNISON statement is useless. Ashamed to be a member.

NoToMisogyny · 30/12/2020 17:35

Why would Richmond Upon Thames be on that list with one of the lowest rates in London - when Kingston (higher rates) isn’t? It’s all nuts

phlebasconsidered · 30/12/2020 17:36

Well, my area has similar numbers to some of the shut areas. And is rising by about 60% in a week. Why the fuck am I not shut? Oh, I forgot. I'm not near London.

WhenSheWasBad · 30/12/2020 17:37

We could call it testing Tuesday.

You know I’m actually still shocked every time Boris lies. You would think I’d be used to it by now.

I've felt like this for ages. I'm in the North of England and in an area that a few months ago was considered one of the worst hit in the country. No-one gave a shit.

Exactly
SaltyAF · 30/12/2020 17:38

I am definitely getting a postal test once a week. As soon as I test positive I'm off for weeks, until the very last symptom has gone. Fuck em, I will be ill due to their negligence.

ItsIgginningtolookalotlikeXmas · 30/12/2020 17:38

Even if we are vaccinated we might still transmit the virus - that doesn't sound very positive. Presumably the vaccinated folk would be asymptomatic so would have no reason to suspect they were contagious.

ItsIgginningtolookalotlikeXmas · 30/12/2020 17:38

(Just listening to the briefing)

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 30/12/2020 17:39

Ha, my head has just messaged. Sit mtg tomorrow at 10.30. Yay!

RigaBalsam · 30/12/2020 17:41

Anyone else just laid exhausted thinking wtf?

CallmeAngelGabriel · 30/12/2020 17:43

I am actually sitting here in tears of rage.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 30/12/2020 17:43

We're still stuck going back in for remote learning with KW kids in on the 4th with the county deciding WTF they are going to do on the 6th.

ItsIgginningtolookalotlikeXmas · 30/12/2020 17:43

Aren't you still on holiday, Rule?
What would happen if none of you were "available"?

RigaBalsam · 30/12/2020 17:45

@CallmeAngelGabriel

I am actually sitting here in tears of rage.
Totally understand AngeThanks
