You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give ‘The Every twat for Themselves mob’ the staffroom password as a number of them are operating in an alternative reality.

No DfE muppets allowed

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the toffee vodka is hidden.

If you are fed up with cakes and biscuits there is now a cheeseboard on offer

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

I’m not worried one bit about being at work or catching covid! In fact I’d rather be at work than stuck at home!

TheHoneyBadger · 01/11/2020 21:27

Right back to work tomorrow.

Hope everyone, and their children, manage to sleep. I've given ds a soluble melatonin tablet and packed him off to bed. Feel free to call ss but over the years I've seen how hard it is for him to switch his body clock back round to school and how effective a one off melatonin dose can be.

We used to live between here and the middle east when he was diddy and I'm afraid I wasn't averse to giving a dose of melatonin on a long flight either.

Back into the thick of it. May 'the force' be with us all.

MistressIggi · 01/11/2020 21:27

Bless.

@HeyBaby2020

I also work in a school but will be unpopular on this thread because I disagree with the majority of posts Grin
That’s allowed you know! Grin
TheHoneyBadger · 01/11/2020 21:29

Gosh how awful your home must be baby! I do hope you manage to improve your domestic situation to a level where hyper-exposing yourself to a pandemic doesn't seem preferable to being at home.

Women's aid may help.

MistressIggi · 01/11/2020 21:30

Bit odd to come on and announce it though.
I don't like toffee vodka but I've kept quiet about it Smile

MistressIggi · 01/11/2020 21:31

Freedom programme maybe, Honey?

Disagreeing is fine. It’s a free country - and an open forum! Dunno that I’d bother joining a thread where I disagreed with most stuff 🤷🏻‍♀️ I get enough of that with Y9!!

HeyBaby2020 · 01/11/2020 21:32

Nothing like that, I just get bored easily I live on my own. Blush

ChloeDecker · 01/11/2020 21:32

Now you tell us Misstresslggi-after all this time!! Want me to pop to the shops for an alternative!? Grin

MsAwesomeDragon · 01/11/2020 21:32

That book sounds interesting piggy. I may indulge my Hobby and see if the library has it. I do love reading.

MrsHamlet · 01/11/2020 21:32

I'm not right keen on toffee vodka myself. Better that than Bacardi though.

TheHoneyBadger · 01/11/2020 21:33

It may be a cry for help? If I announced that I'd rather be rammed into a crowded building with 1000+ teens during a pandemic I hope people would see that for the desperate cry for help it was.

HeyBaby2020 · 01/11/2020 21:33

I followed through the summer, kept me up to date with school news definitely 🤣

I promise it’s not. I work in a wonderful happy primary school in year 4 😊
HeyBaby2020 · 01/11/2020 21:35

I haven’t come on to argue with anyone though Sad

Grin bizarrely my year 9s this year are alright and their lessons a bit of respite. I feel I should touch wood frantically saying that.
MistressIggi · 01/11/2020 21:35

That's nice. Do you teach your year 4's anything about empathy at all?

MsAwesomeDragon · 01/11/2020 21:36

I don't drink alcohol at all, so shouldn't fit in with this group. Nobody's noticed that I'm just drinking diet Coke with no alcohol in it yet though 🤫

SmileEachDay · 01/11/2020 21:36

You’ve followed a thread you mainly disagree with since the summer?

Why? How do you have the patience? Which post was it that prompted you to crash in and say you disagreed with everything?

CallmeAngelina · 01/11/2020 21:37

@HeyBaby2020

I don't follow that line of argument, though. Why would that mean you disagree with the points that teachers are raising about the safety of schools remaining open (not to mention all the other things we discuss on here), just because you get bored easily?
MrsHamlet · 01/11/2020 21:37

MsAD we've noticed. We're just grateful there's more for us

CallmeAngelina · 01/11/2020 21:38

You say you "work in" a school. As a teacher? Or TA?

MistressIggi · 01/11/2020 21:38

Do you know I probably talk about drinking far more than I actually do it, these days. If you'd met me in my 20s there wouldn't have been enough toffee vodka to go round Grin
