You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give ‘The Every twat for Themselves mob’ the staffroom password as a number of them are operating in an alternative reality.

No DfE muppets allowed

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the toffee vodka is hidden.

If you are fed up with cakes and biscuits there is now a cheeseboard on offer

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

@Augustbreeze

😱she wants to make children illegal????

Report her or MNHQ immediately!

This made me 😂
DollyMixtureLulus · 27/10/2020 18:43

I'm so fed up of this pandemic. I think I'm going to hibernate.

Augustbreeze · 27/10/2020 18:45

Just get drunk instead

Augustbreeze · 27/10/2020 18:47

Sorry @DollyMixtureLulus, that's a very in-me thing to say and I don't actually condone the use of alcohol to dull any kind of pain!

Hibernating would be quite nice, it's cold and dark now and 350+ deaths reported today is not good news....

DollyMixtureLulus · 27/10/2020 18:48

Nah, I'm a teary drunk Blush I'd love to be one of those fun dancing drunk people.

SmileEachDay · 27/10/2020 18:49

For the love of god can someone stop noble before she gets to her final goal.

MsAwesomeDragon · 27/10/2020 19:02

What would we all do with our lives if noble succeeds in making children illegal? Would we have to go and work in the "adult factories" that take the babies that are fed into them and turn them into functioning adults who are productive members of society? Or are we actually outlawing babies, and the current children are the last ones ever? I'm confused as to how this master plan is going, but I think I'm sold on it anyway (that's how people vote isn't it? One idea, not very well thought out, and people will vote for it). Noble for PM!!! Let's make children illegal!!!

MsAwesomeDragon · 27/10/2020 19:04

Dolly don't get drunk. I'm not a fun drunk either, I get very tired and fall asleep in the corner. I made very indulgent brownies today, so help yourself to one of my gooey, chocolatey creations.

DollyMixtureLulus · 27/10/2020 19:06

Thank you :)

I'd be a florist if children were illegal. I'd have a wee shop and a dog and bring my dog to work.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 27/10/2020 19:07

You do have to admire noble’s dedication to trashing her MN reputation. Nobody could cause her of not being committed to her campaign.

SmileEachDay · 27/10/2020 19:11

I’d quite like to keep my DC if they’re all being made illegal.

I’d like to be a writer or a full time watcher of Silent Witness. Or I’d be happy just living by the sea with DC and the cat.

Hercwasonaroll · 27/10/2020 19:12

I'm the most inappropriate drunk, probably a good thing there's no Christmas gatherings this year!

FrencheFancie · 27/10/2020 19:19

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all holding out OK. Just popping in to say that we're expecting a big announcement tomorrow in France, where I teach. Macron summoned the defence council today and rumours are flying about a second confinement, but schools staying open....

More than 54,000 cases in one day... I'm hardly surprised. We're all awaiting tomorrow evening to see what will go down. It feels like foreshadowing for the UK given exponential increases are expected in the coming weeks.

DollyMixtureLulus · 27/10/2020 19:30

Will schools be staying open full-time or going down to a blended model, Frenchie? It's just dire. I don't even know what's good news or bad news any more.

MrsHamlet · 27/10/2020 19:31

I'm a chilled drunk until I'm a teary drunk. I also tell the truth when drunk which can be double plus ungood.

DreamingofBrie · 27/10/2020 19:36

It's an adverb at the start of a sentence. I don't know why we need all this fancy terminology Grin.

See I didn't actually know what a fronted adverbial was until today, but once I'd read this it made perfect sense.

We made it to half term without a confirmed positive case, but had notification of two staff test positive in the past couple of days Sad.

FrencheFancie · 27/10/2020 19:40

The announcement will be at 8pm tomorrow, so we'll know then... last time, blended learning saw shambolic across the board, so I hope they've got something better in mind!
DreamingofBrie · 27/10/2020 19:47

Hi @HedyPrism, glad to hear you've had a good half term. Well done for getting this far, sounds as if you're doing well.

I volunteer in a community cafe at the weekend and have been musing how pleasant it is. Customers are generally very polite and friendly, and it's relaxing and I'd definitely do it more if I wasn't teaching. Although I'm not held accountable for much, just keeping everything covid safe, working the coffee machine and till properly and other shop-related stuff. Maybe if I was being paid I wouldn't find it so rewarding!

noblegiraffe · 27/10/2020 19:51

I'm the most inappropriate drunk

More info needed, Herc Grin

MrsHamlet · 27/10/2020 19:57

Seconded, noble Grin
When you close the schools, I'm opening a book-shoe shop-cafe with comfy armchairs.

noblegiraffe · 27/10/2020 20:13

Bookshop is actually my dream second career, MrsHamlet

You can do all the highly intellectual books and I’ll take Young Adult, Fantasy, a bit of Chick Lit and Popular Science.

MrsHerculePoirot · 27/10/2020 20:20

I've got no stop mode once I start drinking... It's not a good thing... luckily I don’t do it very often. I’d be the one buying eleventy billion shots at 10 pm 🤦‍♀️

@MsAwesomeDragon I also went through the threshold years before anyone gave a shit about what you did. My school have turned down people all the time for no reason and certainly not followed any rules about putting it in writing etc. It’s really bad, but no-one takes it further as no-one knows about anyone else. Makes me really mad, but no-one wants to make themselves a target I think. It’s horrible tbh. There are three I know of applying this year, who all got turned down for no Good reason last year and all are going to appeal it this year if it happens again so we shall see...

MrsHamlet · 27/10/2020 20:22

Noble we should call it "Noble and the fan girls"
We need a good cookery section and a really good travel section.

MsAwesomeDragon · 27/10/2020 20:32

Can I come and join you in the bookshop venture? I'll take science fiction and thrillers (I wanted fantasy but noble got there before me). I don't read anything that makes me think too hard, but I'd love to recommend lovely picture books to small children (but we've made children illegal, so no more children's books?).

I might just do some gentle crafting and sell it on Etsy/Facebook. I could definitely do better than some of the stuff I've seen sold on there, but I'm not sure I'd make much money. Maybe I'll have to get an office job, in IT probably.

motherrunner · 27/10/2020 20:32

Had a phone call from my head. One of my Yr 10s is positive and I now have to isolate myself as I have been within a metre of her. Could this week get any worse!
