Ps second home sounds grand and it’s not. I rent here and own a teeny apartment in a 2nd/3rd world country that doesn’t even have electricity at the minute because the complex had been stealing from the state owned power company. It’s worth less than most people’s cars.

I'm starting to think about September now (I'm doing class lists), but the doc I read today about BAME staff in school, had the line 'The NHS is preparing for a second wave in late Autumn'.

Next year is going to be a MESS.

I asked this recently; an engineer friend said there isn't enough portacabins in the U.K.

I live in the city where Portakabin is based - they don’t have enough space to manufacture all the portakabins that would be needed.

This is why I’m so confused as to whether I’m fit to return to work. I don’t know what that work will be. I’m not fit for full days of teaching with hours of no access to a toilet but I probably am fit for what it entails to be a part time secondary teacher now. I have my own toilet here at home!

Really pfrench?! My child quite likes her grandparents (well, 3 out of 4, but the one we don't like is the one least likely to die), so we'll be avoiding them once we're forced back to school to mix with a lot more people.

I have behaved quite decadently today, and would have given some teacher bashers some proper ammunition. I took the afternoon off and took dd to the beach for 3 hours!!! It was wonderful. Not hot, so not busy (it was a bit chilly tbh, I regretted my clothing choice of a skirt rather than jeans!) We just walked along the prom and threw pebbles into the sea, dd scampering around like an excited puppy (she's 10 and has been rather grumpy recently, so this was delightful to see!) Ate a picnic on the beach and just enjoyed ourselves. Of course, in order to facilitate those 3 hours of fun I worked my socks off this morning, and will be working late this evening as well, but it was so worth it.
