The making it to the end of term thread...

I'll start:
I'm completely wiped out (and have been for about the last month).
I still have Yr10 mock exams to mark, a massive data point to input and a new course to try and get everything in place for - oh, and the joys of policing sports day where the entire school will simultaneously try to be in places they shouldn't.
Anyone else with me in raising a glass and wistfully toasting that it's only a couple of weeks to go? Smile

I have limped to the end of term. SLT decided my dept has to swap teaching areas with English, so we have had everything to pack up. We've had a room taken from us and given to PE, which has caused lots of animosity.
I've been involved in our school production Mon and Tues nights til half 8 this week and have officially had enough of everything now.

Anyone else got timetable over their allocation for next year?

Last day tomorrow. Can't wait! My own DDs have finished today.

Luckily, it was PPA today and the DH agreed to a whole school DVD today (wonders will never cease) so I didn't have to do very much today.

I have managed, bit by bit over the last few weeks, to tackle a lot of the sorting and clearing jobs that I used to leave to the school holidays to do. I have a few little things to finish off, but aim to finish tomorrow without needing to come in to school at all over the hols for that.

I can then do some planning in my own time as and when I have time and meet with my new partner teacher to discuss the term ahead. Otherwise the 6 weeks will be mine....all mine!

I've just finished YAY GrinGin

Been a nice last day but emotional saying goodbye to the colleagues leaving us.

I have finished moving to my new classroom this morning and done clearing and tidying too.

So now, I am feeling relaxed and looking forward to the next 6 weeks off doing whatever I want and spending time with my son and husband.

I hope everyone has a great summer!

Broken.

elephantoverthehill · 21/07/2017 19:18

Not broken up? RandomDent, just Broken? How about a lazy night in front of the telly?

MsAwesomeDragon · 21/07/2017 19:31

We broke up yesterday :) It feels a bit sad this year as so many of our established staff are leaving :( including my best friend :( There were 5 voluntary redundancies as funding has been cut and we've got falling numbers as well due to a falling birth rate in our catchment and a rural location. So that's a much higher number than normal (not a huge percentage of staff since we're a fairly large secondary school, but more than the 1 or 2 teachers retiring or leaving to take up promotions elsewhere that we're used to)

I've had a very lazy day today. Dd2 and I have generally pottered about, played with the guinea pigs, been to the park and McDonald's and watched far too much TV.

mineofuselessinformation · 21/07/2017 20:35

I've finished...
I'm totally knackered and just wanted to cry when we could finally leave. (It's been a very stressful year, much of it not due to work.)
One of my classes was brilliant, helping me to move some things in the room I'll be teaching in next year.
After I came home I slept for an hour (after a glass of red. Wine) Cheers. All!

Ah... may I join?

That overwhelming wave of absolute relief has just hit. And it's lovely.

Just left my PRU for a return to mainstream after nearly 4 years. Septembers a bit scary right now but far enough away to feel manageable still.

ninnypoo · 22/07/2017 13:11

Still one day to go for me!

Wish we had broken up yesterday, it feels such an anticlimax to go back in for one day after the weekend.

Anticipating lots of tears on my end as I'm moving schools and it's a very reluctant move- really don't want to leave!

FitbitAddict · 22/07/2017 14:33

I finished on Thursday and it was my last day at the school after 6.5 years. I've tried really hard to pretend it wasn't happening but could do that no longer. I'm leaving to be Deputy Head at a school in special measures so much to do. My year 2s haven't seen much of me over the last couple of weeks as I prepared to handover the senco role. On the last day there were tears all round - my kids, year 6s, staff and parents, particularly those with whom I've worked on SEN issues such as doing 1:1 teaching or getting EHCPs. My house looks like a florists and my fridge is full of chocolate. You can't see the living room furniture for cards and I'm immensely grateful to have had the opportunity to work in the school and get to know such lovely people.
