I'll start:
I'm completely wiped out (and have been for about the last month).
I still have Yr10 mock exams to mark, a massive data point to input and a new course to try and get everything in place for - oh, and the joys of policing sports day where the entire school will simultaneously try to be in places they shouldn't.
Anyone else with me in raising a glass and wistfully toasting that it's only a couple of weeks to go? Smile

We're not doing quizzes and DVDs, at all, ever. We continue working til the very last lesson on the last day. Except in subjects where they can claim the dvd is part of the curriculum (so that's most subjects, but not maths or practical subjects).

The work scrutiny will involve looking at books and marking that has been completed since Easter I think. I'm not particularly bothered, I mark my books regularly and according to department policy, and they'll see that easily, but it is annoying and I bet they pick the one kid who has a chaotic home life and I'm grateful she's in my lesson and don't punish for lack of homework

mineofuselessinformation · 14/07/2017 20:36

I got it!!! Now for lots of work...
I'm working through til Friday, but may slip in some stuff related to my subject that I like! Smile

My reports are all finished and printed, planning done (which basically adds up to 1 full day because of all the things going on that take us off timetable) and I'm moving schools so can't even get ready for next year. I'm so BORED! Feel like I'm stuck in purgatory waiting for the end of the year. 6 days to go!

elephantoverthehill · 14/07/2017 20:53

Congratulations! Star . See, I told you you would.

Lara2 · 14/07/2017 21:07

We had our (arsey) LLP doing -observations- a learning walk and book scrutiny yesterday FFS! The feedback today was about a child in my class being off task in his learning booth - except I don't bloody have one!
Limping along - on Wednesday I just wanted to tell them all to Fuck Off because I was off to the staff room for a cup of tea and put my feet up! My poor year 2's - I love them really Grin

EvilTwins · 14/07/2017 22:51

Just activities week left for me Smile

Two nights of Key Stage 3 show for me this week, plus the emotional wrench of my own kids finishing year 6 Sad

One week to go then GOODBYE SCHOOL (forever)

PumpkinPie2016 · 16/07/2017 08:39

4.5 says to go for me and one of those is the sponsored walk so no proper lessons that day Smile

I am swapping classrooms this week ready for Sept so that I don't have to do it over the summer (I'm secondary so probably easier to do this than in primary).

Then a blissful 6 weeks of NO SCHOOL Grin

I am so looking forward to being able to spend time with DH and DS, sort my house out and go on holiday without work hanging over me!

MsAwesomeDragon · 16/07/2017 13:04

4 days to go. One of those is the work scrutiny, I don't care. Then there's an activities day, so I'm off on a day out with y7.

I'll be changing classroom too, so I'm moving into my new classroom on Thursday, luckily I've got some gained time which coincides with the other teacher's gained time so we can work together to sort it all out.

I've also got a leaving do to go to, for a friend who is retiring, which will make me sad :(

Puffinsnamechange · 18/07/2017 21:01

How is everyone holding up? We've got lots of "fun" stuff tomorrow in my frees. Feeling quite positive though!

PumpkinPie2016 · 18/07/2017 21:12

Walk done and it was nice, mostly done moving classrooms.

2.5 days left to try to amuse tired, restless kids!

Friday can't come soon enough now!

mineofuselessinformation · 18/07/2017 23:33

Work scrutiny??? 😵
Just done sports day - cheesed off that it was cloudy yes my legs are going to remain milk bottle white.
Trying to move rooms but colleague who is leaving is reluctant to let go, so all a bit tricky.
However, went out for a meal with some students yesterday, and off out tomorrow too! Smile

Work scrutiny was fine, they didn't even pick any of my pupils in their sample.

Activities day was nice, a lovely day out with y7.

Now just 2 more days left. I'm playing games with every class today and tomorrow. They love coming to maths and playing games, there's only so many DVDs you can watch half of.

therootoftheroot · 19/07/2017 08:03

I am taking dvds in with me today. Nuff said

marcopront · 19/07/2017 09:38

I think I say this on this thread every year but spare a thought for some of who teach overseas.

I start back tomorrow, a week of meetings and then KS5 start next Thursday and the rest of the school on Friday. I have interviews after school Thursday and Friday as a new teacher pulled at the last minute. I have had a lovely six week holiday though with the advantage that every where we went in the UK was quiet.

In the interests of not incriminating myself, I may or may not have shown Shrek 2 to a class while they were working today...

OP posts:
Puffinsnamechange · 19/07/2017 19:30

mine I especially love that "they were working" with Shrek onGrin

Puffinsnamechange · 19/07/2017 19:31

Marco whereabouts are you? I know the school year follows the calendar in the Southern hemisphere, but they get long hols over Christmas

mineofuselessinformation · 19/07/2017 23:16

Well, yes, Puffin.... Sort of!

OP posts:
mineofuselessinformation · 19/07/2017 23:17

Aargh, it's pouring with rain so indoor play and they will come in early as its torrential. Do I have to go to work? Indoor play and over emotional colleagues and year sixes and rain 😮🤔

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 20/07/2017 05:23

Two days! I do cover and today is first one for weeks that hasn't been full on. I've even got cover last lesson tomorrow. No mufti day and work till the death. And the whole place is being decorated to a standard stripped of any individuality so everywhere is a mess. Doesn't feel like end of year.(apart from being knackered)

marcopront · 20/07/2017 16:42

Puffin I am in India in an International school, our holidays seem to be carefully planned to not overlap with the majority of Indian schools or U.K. schools.

mineofuselessinformation · 20/07/2017 16:45

I got two lessons of cover today. Angry

OP posts:
ChinchillaFur · 20/07/2017 18:18

I'm finished Grin

Am going to collapse into a long hot bath with a giant box of chocolates from a delightful girl in my tutor group and a large glass of fizz from my DH. I got a couple of heartfelt cards and I cried Blush

I am so tired that I could barely string a sentence together today!
To everyone in work tomorrow - you can do it Smile
