I'll start:
I'm completely wiped out (and have been for about the last month).
I still have Yr10 mock exams to mark, a massive data point to input and a new course to try and get everything in place for - oh, and the joys of policing sports day where the entire school will simultaneously try to be in places they shouldn't.
Anyone else with me in raising a glass and wistfully toasting that it's only a couple of weeks to go? Smile

purplesky, hang on in there, you will make it. Flowers
As for timetables, I have two 'lesson 6' periods per week next year - i.e. after the school day finishes for everyone else. I'm the only one in my department. Angry

Oh, and we still don't know which will be Week A or Week B next year, so no filling in our planners for us....

Yep we have to wear blazers and get told off if we don't have them on. No leggings, tunics etc just smart business dress.

cricketballs · 11/07/2017 05:49

mineofuselessinformation - have you checked your total directed time with that timetable plus meetings etc? Do not agree if you go over

pieceofpurplesky - I would seriously look for another job

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 11/07/2017 07:35

Smart business dress?😵What a load of bollocks.

I work in an ofsted outstanding, one of the best in the country, massively oversubscribed seconday. We wear smart casual. The kids still get the grades!

PumpkinPie2016 · 11/07/2017 18:03

I'm struggling now - absolutely shattered, kids are winding down and getting giddy (even my normally lovely Y10s and Y12s don't want to get anything done!!)

We still have endless meetings, new resources to make, mock exam analysis to do and god knows what else. Just been told today as well that we have something else to do with our forms next year which will create more work!

The only saving grace is that I have my timetable for next year and it is actually ok - otherwise, I think I would have gone over the edge!

8 days to goGrin

Doomhutch · 11/07/2017 19:39

I spent all day thinking it was Wednesday.

Fuck.

elephantoverthehill · 11/07/2017 19:49

Ha ha Doomhutch I just had an 'Oh fuck it's Wednesday' moment, meaning I should have been at a meeting, but all is good it's only Tuesday. Confused

RandomDent · 11/07/2017 21:27

8 days to go!
I'm finishing a secondment that has been Great For Development but I can't wait to get back to bog standard class teaching and my school again. Downside is I have a giant pile of paperwork to do for the next victim person.

mineofuselessinformation · 11/07/2017 22:47

Ha! elephant, I managed to miss a briefing this morning because I was distracted by a colleague and went to the wrong one....

OP posts:
elephantoverthehill · 11/07/2017 22:54

Tomorrow is Wednesday I must remember to go to briefing
Wednesday I must remember to go to briefing
Wednesday I must remember to go to briefing
Wednesday I must remember to go to briefing

It's a pity that SLT forget it sometimes too.

ChinchillaFur · 12/07/2017 17:26

Well, I finally have had sight of a timetable.
Apparently it is "provisional" Shock

elephantoverthehill · 12/07/2017 17:40

I forgot to go to briefing and so did SLT.

fatowl · 13/07/2017 10:28

I have ONE day to go.
Feels like a monumental mountain, and I'm not even in state or even the UK.
I teach three full days, and was in with SLT with them pressuring me to take a fourth day......err no.
Tomorrow I have my Y10 ESL first thing, then bottom set ESL Y7 (that will be a dvd), double English with my Y9s - that is the hump, then my lovely Y6s when we are going to finish watching the Narnia film (it was our class book this term) - Then FREEDOM.
Avoiding SLT all day though.

This last half term has been a long trudge

Doomhutch · 13/07/2017 19:56

I guess that's a nice thing about being in Primary - the last term is just a blur of exciting off-timetable events and shitty behaviour!

mineofuselessinformation · 13/07/2017 20:13

Eek! Interview for TLR tomorrow - wish me luck?

OP posts:
elephantoverthehill · 13/07/2017 20:18

Good luck mine you'll ace it Smile.

MsAwesomeDragon · 13/07/2017 20:25

I thought I was finished last Friday, as I was called for jury service for this week and next. I went to court for 2 days, hung around doing nothing and they cancelled the rest so I've had to go back to school :(

Now someone else is ill and signed off for a week so I'm teaching her year 9 class during my sodding gained time :(

I don't want to play any more. In my head I was finished with school till September, and now I've got to think about lessons to teach tomorrow. AND we've got a work scrutiny going on next week. Who puts a work scrutiny in the last week of term?

Puffinsnamechange · 13/07/2017 20:30

I got my timetable today, and somehow "please don't give me too much of the year 13 course as I will be an NQT" has led to me getting the entire course! And only bottom sets at KS4 (admittedly they're small, but it's doing nothing for my subject knowledge development). And I'm not carrying any of my classes forward. Feels like I'm starting from scratch. I want to cry, it's been a while since a department meeting had that effect on me...

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 13/07/2017 21:39

Work scrutiny in the last week of term😵

However l remember Ofsted coming in half way through our QA. It was suspended during their visit. Then rescheduled for the next week, which was the last week before they broke up for Christmas😨That was fun

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 13/07/2017 21:40

We had 3 weeks of being observed😭

mineofuselessinformation · 13/07/2017 21:47

Why can't they leave us all alone???
I really think most teachers have had enough now (and the students).
We had a fire drill (scheduled!) yesterday.
Thanks for the good wishes, elephant.

OP posts:
greathat · 13/07/2017 21:50

There was "learning walks" at my place today. To check how we were feeding back on end of year exams. They can just piss off :P

Puffinsnamechange · 13/07/2017 21:54

We had a scheduled fire drill yesterday too. Kids had somehow found out so not much point to it...

elephantoverthehill · 13/07/2017 22:08

I am going to stop moaning after reading the above. I told my HoD that there was no point updating marking for Y8 and Y9 because they won't see the marking. She agreed. Scrutiny in the last weekConfused. Are they scrutinising your choice of quiz and DVD?
