Most people would have wished them well if they'd settled down to live quietly in Canada or California, with occasional trips back to family get-togethers at Sandringham or Balmoral. No Scobie, no Oprah, no Spare, no Netflix doc, no court cases, no faux-royal tours. All their own choice.

The silly thing is that private life could have been in the UK, with a larger grace and favour property if there had been none of their antics since they became engaged, I expect they would also have been invited to attend a few garden parties (as other non-WRF are), attend Ascot. The children would know their grandpa more, and at a push there may have been a cordial relationship with W & C.

I think your theory is sound and follows a previous pattern, unfortunately Meghan is a victim of her own success…she has elevated herself to the point that , it’s almost impossible for her to go any higher up than she is …the fact that she has found out the golden goose was not as golden as she thought is unfortunate but just something she will have to live with now.

I've always loathed the HAM behaviour of holding hands at work. It's just not the time for displays of affection. Your personal preferences for physical affection are irrelevant while you are at work doing a role. Behave like you are at work. It's respectful to those around you.

I worked with my DH for a while. I found it quite awkward but we were scrupulous about being professional at work and having very clear boundaries about personal conversation etc. We would never dreamt of holding hands at work.

HAM have mistaken being warm and personable for a ditching of norms and basic respect. You can be warm and formal, and this is often appropriate when at work.

You can have a joke but you don't slap peoples arse, tickle their beards, or hold your husbands hand.

Yes, I think that sort of place would suit them. No free press as well.

HAM may have to be different characters to have had a different life, but the other side of that is they are grown ups, they chose the path they took, irrespective of their disposition, they could have chosen to behave differently.

I think this was always the plan - to settle Harry and the kids here ( Pa will give us a place) and that's why he's been reinforcing the stay at home Dad while Meghan trots off to Oz. This deal wasn't just pulled together in the last week or two. He's being dumped and he doesn't even realise it . Yes I'm watching East of Eden right now but she is Cathy Ames to a T in a more modern setting.

Yep & Harry is a prince which would be held in very high esteem... lots of money floating about.. lots of international schools for A&L..

It's weird isn't it. We've probably all worked with married couples or those in relationship and I've never come across any who do the constant hand holding and back stroking. All so performative but that is there MO as we've seen time and time again.

Exactly. I don't think they do plan. School fiasco case in point. But I really do think Harry wants to be in UK tormenting his father and brother to keep him busy. Cali, what was he doing?
