Based on what the first wife is saying TMS is absolutely revolting. And yet she left the two kids with him which is odd whichever way you look at it.

Meghan wrote a gushing piece about TMS in 2015 or 2016 for Father's Day on her blog. Saying what an incredible Dad he was...I suppose that was her truth at the time. Something happened between then and her finding out that he was possibly abusing children. I think she didn't want him spoiling her fairy tale and that is why she cut him off.

I don't think she and TMJ are in cahoots....he absolutely does not fit into her world .

I just don't know where HaM go from here... They'll spin the victim narrative - Megan will say 'i'm the child of an abuser' and maybe try to get involved with charities that help to stop child abuse.. but I don't know how they'll explain why she waited 7 years to speak up. Unless she comes up with a convincing explanation this will follow them forever. She'll try to blame someone - 'i had to protect the RF', ' I was silenced to protect others', 'I couldn't trust the letter writer',. She needs to be very careful about telling outright lies...but that hasn't stopped her before.

Yes, I think they will try to get involved with related charities. I know first hand how insidious child sex abuse can be, etc and nobody will question why she didn't try to use her influence to follow up with relevant authorities.

Demanding the letter handover in his hospital bed was filmed by the lawyer that delivered it was another bad move - it makes her look cold and high handed. I wonder if she knew there was a Daily Mail journalist filming for him?

But I think in her mind it was creating the perfect paper trail for a posthumous tell-all story where she could produce the letter. At the time it was thought that he wouldn't survive. But M she loves a handwritten letter to reveal at a later date....

.... which, perhaps cynically, makes me wonder how it came about that the ex-wife decided to write a handwritten letter and send it directly to the Fixated Threat Assessment Centre (FTAC).

  • would the average American know this existed? Why not address it to Meghan herself or "Scotland Yard"/the London Police etc?
  • did someone suggest she send a handwritten letter?
  • was it actually confirmed it came from her?
  • Most Americans I know type letters - either computer or old typewriter

Yup. She calls up the old alkie, tells her she'll give her x amount of dollars to hand-write a letter and send it to <very specialist branch of Met>.

A poster on twitter a few days ago wrote that MM called the Met asking if they had received a letter.

So many questions and so few answers.

Personally I think MM has been planning a tell all against her father for several years and thought creating a paper trail would make her story more believable.

So many handwritten letters! All of which are in MM's possession and she can produce within hours of the story breaking after 5 house moves -lucky she keeps such meticulous records and copies of the handwritten letters she sends her father.

2018 - handwritten letter - father embarrassed her over the wedding - leaked to 5 friends. She sued but was awarded only £1 in damages plus some of her costs.

2019 - handwritten letter from ex-wife - oddly addressed directly to an obscure unit involved in royal protection. Did anyone check the ex-wife actually wrote it?

2025 - handwritten letter - delivered by lawyers at a time when it was thought TM would likely die. Timing seems really odd as she had not seen him for 8-9 years at that stage. Why make contact to announce she was cutting off contact?

The private couple can't do anything without announcing it.

bluegreygreen · Yesterday 23:38

Obviously we will need to wait to see what the Sun reveals tomorrow or the following day but ...

if the 7-page letter contains no more concrete evidence than a single alleged conversation about child abuse, in which TMsnr denies any wrongdoing, I can see why the Met Police would not have forwarded it to any other police force.
There would be nothing on which any force could take any action.

ETA Obviously the conversation about the travel to Thailand etc is gruesome if true.

WysteriaSister · Yesterday 23:38

I don't think we'll ever get and answer to this. The letter writer, Roslyn Loveless, died in 2024. Nobody really knows why she suddenly wrote about him 44 years after they divorced. Her daughter, Samantha Markle, has said that her mother was an unstable alcoholic married to a heroin addict - so perhaps the letter read more as the drunken ramblings of a vengeful ex to a woman recently married into the rf. Possibly, the letter contained threats to sell stories which it why it was originally considered a security/harassment issue.

We don't know what conversations Meghan had with the Met about her father's ex and the letter. Perhaps she frequently made threats? Perhaps the information seemed vague and not credible - we just don't know.

The bit that I don't understand is why a woman from New Mexico addressed her letter to the Fixated Threat Assessment Centre (FTAC) - how did she know to address it there? Did someone help her? Also yet another handwritten letter...

As ever - more questions than answers

...why a woman from New Mexico addressed her letter to the Fixated Threat Assessment Centre (FTAC) - how did she know to address it there? Did someone help her? Also yet another handwritten letter...

This is very curious. Did she also write to any jurisdictionally relevant authorities

@CantBeArsedToThinkOfAName linked the single article she took part in (thank you!). The cashing in I had in mind was more about the pre wedding Markle/Dooley circus that gave numerous interviews and marched into London Town to do commentary for various news networks on the wedding of someone they hardly knew. Not a person giving a single interview months later.

But it’s interesting the way you dismiss Loveless as yet another Markle on the make. Why should anyone serious have believed anything she said, then? Why would her letter making accusations about her ex be taken any more seriously than the Mirror article? Why should the police believe her, let alone Meghan?

Loveless is on the make IMO because if her concerns were for the CSA victims she would have brought her evidence to LE in the appropriate jurisdiction. If the DD of her ex H from 44years perviously hadn’t married a prince she wouldn’t have inserted herself into this. That’s not to say she is lying. It can be both.

We have no idea if the police or MM took the claims seriously - there’s a possibility that MM dismissed her letter as mad ramblings to the police to quieten it down but that’s not her call and it still leaves the Met with the obligation to initiate next steps which they seemed to have failed to do. Interesting that the ex wife interview slated TM but left out CSA - did The Mirror refuse to print allegations without evidence on this charge - but were happy to do so on all her other claims.

MM was already estranged from TM when this letter dropped in Jan 19 and even if she was left confused and not convinced of his guilt as no investigation or evidence materialised she was right IMO to keep her distance to protect her children.

Surely just like any other private citizen that cosies up to the press, H&M will arrange their own security or the newspapers will. Not that they need it, they have their trotters in the media trough and are more likely to be chasing journos down themselves.

The whole thing is just appalling, why M is feeding the frenzy is unfathomable. Until there are cold facts delivered by an independent party with proven integrity it's all up in the air- all the mis truths, letters, tms diagnosed with dementia, all the he said she said and journos in Thailand filming a handover of boxes.

Lady C - yes, I know she is reliable as the weather - claims that MM always intended to write a book after her dad is dead alleging CSA, because she fkoated the idea to Lady C ( in what form of proposal I have no idea).

The outline you've provided, Lunde, would support the proposition that she was laying a paper trail to cement TMSr's guilt, and her rejection of him because of it.

The bit she missed - because she was no empathy or natural moral compass, so would not have consideed anyone's interests but her own - is wihat is now biting her bum; namely, if you knew your dad was a bad 'un, why didn't you make sure the police in Cebu were warned

I wonder if Uncle Spencer and Professor Countess the Fourth Cat Jarman are still ‘doing the downward dog in front of the Van Dykes’ at dear old Althorp?

Of course she didn't consider the optics of total disregard for future vulnerable children because her and her hideous husband only think of themselves

On a lighter note - I was thinking about the tale of 2 princely interviews
