One wonders if KC et al knew all of this crap when they issued that definitive letter about them being private citizens now.

Whether KC3 knew about this specific thing or not, I think that KC3 guessed- when HAM came scurrying back to the UK all in a hurry, without a word about it beforehand - that shit of some sort was about to hit the fan.

I wonder this too. It's very odd for two wives to leave their kids with the father and just more or less abandon them. I know M saw her mother occasionally but she wasn't a consistent parent. Doria was also very young when she met TM. I can't remember if Roslyn was too. He seems to have gone for young immature women who then left him with the child/children.
In addition Thomas never remarried or seems to have had any real relationship after Doria left him and Doria has never remarried and never seems to have had a relationship with anyone else publicly. It's bizarre.

The DM this morning said that TM junior is also with a partner who is about 30 years younger than him, in Thailand.

@AtIusvue oh my goodness, you’re right!

We do know that Markle Snr on reviewing the letter immediately shut up. There were no more pleas for Meg to reach out.

Is it a coincidence that TMS moved to a private rehabilitation centre in Florida soon after the letter? Who is paying for this?

There are so many unanswered questions

Yes I was wondering who was paying for it too.

No. This is what H claimed in the OW interview He said his father and brother were trapped whereas he he married for love 🙄

The irony. Given Charles knew Camilla for 30 years before they married and William knew Catherine for ten. How many months did Harry know Meghan?

I was wondering about this too. So he was so broke that he had to leave Mexico, already a fairly low cost country, to travel all the way to the Philippines for his medical care. But now he's back in a private facility in Florida? America is notorious for the extortionate cost of medical care, so it must be costing a fortune. Someone must be paying for it and the question is who?

It’s interesting you’ve said that as it’s only a week ago where we were having pictures of them
almost everyday when they were out for lunch together or Meghan was meeting pls in London for lunch.

Now they seem to have gone to ground.

Yes, there will be zero pics over the next few weeks.

Also that will take us to the first week of Nov, which we will then find out if Harry is appealing the ANL case.

Never rains but it pours.

Amongst other things I’m shocked that people/countries who take the moral high ground have their own backyard to clean up.

And I’m sorry but I have absolutely no experience of childbrides. It’s something I’ve heard about but it’s not part of my life experience and I can’t even recall having a conversation with anyone about it here.

The age of consent here is 18, and people have to be 18 to get married however a judge can rule that a person can get married before that. Figures I’ve just read showed that in 1989 when the county was 18 years old 51% of girls were married before the age of 18. In 2014 which are the latest figures I can find it was 4% with 1% being married before the age of 15.

I have never attended a wedding where the girl/woman wasn’t at least a school graduate after 12 years of education and working (probably after college at least for a couple of years).

It’s education, education, education all the way here and I think I’d pass out if I came across any family where a young girl was married. I’m actually having palpitations thinking about it, the concept of it is so alien to anything I know in the part of the world where I am. I think the last figures I saw in the paper for the average age to get married was the late 20’s.

Now back to Harry and Meghan.

The age of consent in Scotland is 16.

Puzzledandpissedoff · Yesterday 11:54

Agreed. As it turns out ham are turning out to be pretty good news for our actual royal family - compare and contrast and all that. William and Charles, Catherine, Edward Sophie Anne (Anne who has always looked good) look veritably angelic at this point in time.

Eta: the American circus just goes on.. and on.. what next, we can't even imagine I'm sure

Edited

I've no doubt that the MIGS are chortling into their gins about more dirt coming from an already dirty family, pipinghot, but in fairness let's not forget the RF are in no position get get snippy about how others have handled allegations of CSA

Not when they've enabled quite so many paedophiles themselves, even - and I can still hardly believe this - allowing one of the worst to act as mentor to the heir

16 months of long distance dating before Harry and Meghan were engaged. It’s fine; but he just really isn’t a “think before you speak” type of guy, is he?

Mylovelygreendress · Yesterday 11:54

AutumnCrowning · Yesterday 11:38

Yes, and if his family members won’t help out HaM now, well then he’s sown the wind and is reaping the whirlwind.

It also reminds me: does anyone remember that thing Harry wrote, ‘They know what they did’? That seems even more like complete bollocks now. We’re actually starting to learn a lot about what Meg did, actually, mate, with you enabling it, with a lot more to come out.

A reminder

And she's tried to destroy the reputation of others, particularly Catherine, to the world. And C isn't just a woman M has a problem with (I'm sure her life is littered with their corpses!): she's the future Queen of the UK, so the things M and H tried to pin on her were extremely serious and not just a celebrity spat.

Yes, the wife of the next Head of State, mother of the subsequent Head of State, mother of the current ‘spare’, with a distinct role of her own related to national morale, unity and stability.

Now who would pay good money to destabilise that? What kind of a person would want to destabilise that?

There is no legal age of consent in Oman, because it is only permitted in marriage.
Girls and women do not have equal rights.

I’m going to be ignoring any replies to the point raised by another poster and continued by you. This thread isn’t about child brides or the age of consent and unlike you I can elaborate on what you have said but I won’t. It’s very easy to do a google search and post the above, or do a google search and come up with a law that for eg says there’s no law against domestic violence in Oman. But what people then don’t add (because it suits them) is that domestic violence is covered in judicial law under every woman’s right to safety and to report domestic violence all a woman does it go to the local government health center where she’ll be examined, her injuries will be logged, and she then goes to the police with her medical report. She would also be asked about other forms of domestic abuse. We also have shelters here. And any husband being reported for abuse would be called to the police station and not allowed to return to the family home until the situation is resolved. Going to court or not. It’s not just the Uk where women opt out of not taking a case as far as she can.

One last thing - I have no interest in swapping any further posts with you (as well as a few others) so I’ll be ignoring you from now on in. It’s how Jeff handles someone who has her in their sights and I’ll be taking a leaf out of her book. So you can reply to me as much as you wish but I won’t be explaining anything I post and that you (and a few others) decide to pounce on. Please go and have your fun somewhere else. Im not here for you to play with.

The age of consent in Scotland is 16.

Which makes complete sense because that also the first age at which you can consent to getting your ears pierced in Scotland….before that you need parental consent.

You can also marry your cousin in Scotland.

A lot of things make no sense up here.

Yes. I agree. They really do take us for fools at times.

At the time of the hospital letter I thought it possible, even likely, that Meghan had agreed to pay for treatment on condition that TMs stopped giving interviews about her and pleading for contact. He has been silent since then and is being treated.

With this coming out, he could have denied it. Say he has dementia. He’s probably too ill to go to trial. He might even be gone by then…

They could have pinned it on TM Jnr making money etc… TM / TM Jnr / SM could say what they like to the papers. Ignore them.

By introducing the letter Meghan has inserted herself into the story making it 100 x bigger. I mean, SHE is saying her dad is a…

This would all have gone away in a puff of media smoke. She should have styled it out, been pictured looking sad on a walk with H.

She should have kept quiet and issued a "shocked and distressed" statement.

This is the problem or her, and her PR Liam's, tendency to pursue aggressive "clapbacks" - they speak before they have fully assessed the consequences. When he was appointed I remember discussion online about whether Liam's "pugnacious", "forthright" and "robust" for of PR was really suited to the type of diplomatic nuances they would need - and now we see the outcome.

Nobody knew about the letter apart from M who clearly had it easily available. The Met couldn't remember it. Why did she feel the need to rush to the Sun to say "Well I've known about this for 8 years but never spoke out" when she's accused so many people directly and indirectly in her interviews over the years. It was a bad idea to jump straight into the scandal.

The map shows that but scroll down and you can see the info about age ranges. A 12 year old in 2 states can consent to sex with someone 2-3 years older.

TheOvertGardener · Yesterday 12:07

Meghan brought the letter with her from the US then? Was it with the Gloria Steinem photo?

nicegreenwillow · Yesterday 12:08

It's a discussion thread, @TheTwerkingDuchessOfMonteshitshow. If you defend some practices in these kind of places, fine. However it is germaine to the conversation about consent and sexual abuse.
If girls and women have no rights, they will be abused. You talked about Oman, I just added a couple of pertinent facts.
Don't engage with me, fine. Don't tell me what to post though. I will always speak up and speak out about the rights of women and girls ♀️.
