William on Graham Norton

Poor Harry. As if his week hasn’t been bad enough he has now had to watch his brother appearing on the best talk show , holding his own, looking comfortable and relaxed, keeping up with the banter, making half decent jokes, telling stories against himself with humour.

Makes Harry’s attempt at tv chatting seem even more uncomfortable.

“Call me William” versus “I am a prince.”

So you all agree it wasn’t true ?

No. Why would he lie? You are looking for a misdemeanour where there is none

I thought he was quite engaging and has shown real improvement at this kind of stuff. He doesn’t haven’t his brother’s natural ability for this sort of thing, but with practice and some coaching he can definitely do it.

Well I saw Harry's interview with that GQ bloke - as you've raised the comparison, I don't think it was great. He was irritated, was he cross? He certainly seemed unhappy and I thought, maybe a bit unwell?
In all honesty I don't judge someone on one interview, it just wasn't his best.

BermudaRhombus · 24/10/2026 13:50

Harry’s a shadow of his former self. In terms of natural character he was always more engaging, entertaining and charming than William. It is a shame it has ended up how it has as the two of them could have forged a great working partnership.

My2cents1975 · 24/10/2026 13:51

One of the best clips was Hannah talking about how Earthshot was like a dating agency pairing small environmentally friendly start-ups with deep pockets and deep resources to accelerate growth. And that all the Earthshot participants get assistance to scale up, not just the winners.

Notpla is a great example of this. Replacing plastic with biodegradable for single use items such as food service items.

I assume most people would want a world that has cleaner air and water. And scaling up innovative solutions to combat pollution is an objectively good thing.

Yeah, I thought the same - his whole demeanour was a bit off and his eyes looked puffy, I thought maybe he was ill.

What? Lighten up. What's the matter? If you loathe him don't watch it, but don't criticise the content!
Good lord.

I agree, it’s truly sad.

She made an excellent point, it's such a great idea, but when she started talking about a dating agency I had to laugh when William said "you may want to caveat that, Hannah!"

Simply not true. He was always the rear of the pantomime pony. Didn't Paloma Faith say he failed his audition to The Brit School or did I just make that up? Probably. Damn! This bottle of Pouilly-Fuissé is good...

He came across normal and accessible. That’s a huge win on Graham Norton.

Did anyone think that GN curtesied at the start?! Surely a man bows?

I would hope GN neither curtsied or bowed considering he is Irish regardless of where he lives in UK or not.

Tootyfilou · 24/10/2026 10:38

Bread and circuses keep the British public in their place. Reading these frankly pathetic comments about a vastly privileged, not very bright man, makes me sick. 3.4 million children living in poverty in the UK, while the taxpayers still fund these scroungers, unbelievable that this still happens in 2026. The peasants are still fawning.

What a Juvenal thing to say

I think he holds British citizenship, doesn't he? He is free to curtsy, bow, shake hands, nod or greet someone as he so chooses.

It looked like something in between a bow and a curtsey!

I'm always curious as to whether people are this rude to anyone who just so happen to have a different opinion to them in real life, or it's just when they're anonymously hidden behind a computer screen!

In real life? One would have to leave the house 😆

Yes, I agree ! Harry used to be so engaging and natural and now he comes across as totally addled and very strange, forced and affected I think. Despite William’s baldness Harry looks much older and very disheveled.

On a side note, they both have such terrible teeth, I think William must have a temporary crown in place as it looked really at odds with the rest of his teeth, possibly waiting for the permanent one to be fitted (at least, I hope so).

I think he quite often does a sort of one legged thing when he shakes hands with a guest. He sort of dips forwards and lifts one leg behind him. It was a Grahamism 😆

Ukisgaslit · 24/10/2026 14:35

@smilesy
No that’s not it .
My question was hardly important in light of Andrew / royal take from the tax payer etc etc but anyway …

I just thought it very unlikely that anyone looking at William - tall and bald - would mistake him for Prince the singer - short and coiffed. That’s what prompted me.

I had assumed that William was presenting the story as the truth .
I’ve now read that William said the man then asked him to sing ‘purple rain’…
That last bit …
Maybe it happened maybe it didn’t . No one else seems to care whether it’s true or not and that’s fine .

Crafting an anecdote is what celebrities are expected to do on a chat show .But he also claims total tax exemption and exemption from laws he doesn’t like .
It was that dichotomy that’s all .

So which is it William? You are a celebrity hoping for laughs on a chat show ? ok - now pay your taxes . The other celebrities have to follow the law you know .

edited to add: William and Charles are totally exempt from tax . That is the law .
Yes I know they pay what they choose to re income tax ( Elizabeth started that a few decades ago when she felt the hot anger of the people ) but they decide for themselves how much they’ll throw in and it’s estimated to be millions less than they should . Some taxes they do not pay at all .

Yes, he's just getting up from a seating position, plus William is a lot taller.

No he is an Irish citizen holding Irish citizenship.

How would British citizenship benefit in any way?

None of this has anything to do with this thread. There is a difference between a thread meandering and trying to insert an agenda. I’m sure there are other threads where these issues are being discussed 😊

Ukisgaslit · 24/10/2026 14:41

I’d argue any appearance of a Windsor is relevant .

Its all PR and we are entitled to comment
