I'm struggling with all this as well @OrdinaryGingerBloke (victim) and I am so sorry for all that you're going through.

I hope that Meghan wasn't a victim of CSA, can't see it tbh, but I really hope she doesn't pretend and then drop subtle hints.

If true it's a bit too much of a coincidence that she found out just before the wedding. Either she knew before and was pretending they had a great relationship or she didn't know at all but is now trying to use it to absolve herself for not wanting him at the wedding.

Thomas Markle junior is a pretty repulsive person himself and the whole family seem to lie about everything, so the truth is probably very convoluted. If true I do feel very sorry for her.

I bet that Meghan quote was given by the brother to The Sun, because they wanted a Meghan angle. Whatever else I think about her, she wanted her dad to give her away at her wedding - if she’d have known about any of this beforehand, I honestly don’t think she’d have tried so hard to have him there. She’s too savvy about optics to ignore such a situation.

I think the phone for the girlfriend is key - would love to know whose old handset that really was…

the whole Markle family is dysfunctional
. the images are physically in the possession of TM jnr whilst TM snr is in the US and has been for some time. I am sure the FBI have already raided TMsnr’shouse , maybe in August? Might explain the quick decamp?

Ironic to say this on this thread where posters kver and over agin have been deciding her for not reconnecting with her Dad, calling her all sorts of names.

Who waited for facts about why she stopped seeing her Dad? Noone on here did. When he was selling stories about her not supporting him or seeing him when his health decline? Noone...just posting away how horrible she was for not going to see her Dad. Not paying for his treatment and so on.

I find it ironic that we're always supposed to feel sorry for Meghan being trashed by her dad when she and Harry spent the past few years making a living trashing his family. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not to be negative as I think it's fab W is doing this. But I can't stand GN. I can't stand any of the popular 'talk show hosts'.

I really miss the greats like Parkinson and the old talk show hosts from a bygone era. Sometimes I watch old interviews on BBC archive etc and marvel at how much more erudite and eloquent people were back then.
I'm sure William will be splendid, just abide a lot of these TV 'national treasures'.

Lots of people speculated over the years that that abuse may be a reason for her cutting him off. I've seen it mentioned many times.

I'm so sorry that you are having to deal with something like this. You are right to say that these sorts of accusations really throw a family and all sorts of things are said and done that probably wouldn't be if someone wasn't shocked.

I don't know what Meghan knew or didn't know but I do think that her Father and other family members' conduct after the wedding and in subsequent years was indicative of a family with deep rooted problems and abusive tendencies. The way her father kept giving interviews claiming it was the only way he could speak to her, the letter from her brother, Samantha's conduct, none of them behaved in the way a loving family would. People are fond of calling Meghan narcissistic, and I am not going to diagnose anyone, but narcissistic patterns of behaviour are clearly present in her paternal family.

We don't know the truth about what her paternal family is like but in the case of these allegations I'm going to give Meghan the benefit of the doubt about what she did and didn't know and whether she chose to act on any suspicions or not. I used to work in an area that meant I sometimes see how families each when someone they loved did something heinous. It takes time for many to believe such awful accusations and reconcile them with the family member they thought they knew. It would be worse by an order of magnitude if you are trying to process these sorts of revelations with everything being commented on in the press and on social media.

And lots of posters on here have as I said been calling her awful for cutting off her Dad without knowing the facts of why she did.

Of course no apologies will be said for being wrong making those comments.

Oh I agree about GN, and that Parkinson was an incredible interviewer. Have you ever watched the Princess Anne chat? It's amazing – he teased a side out of her that the public hadn't ever seen. She's so funny!

I remember watching Glenys Kinnock on Wogan (I think Wogan not Parkinson), and he was asking her about the best way to wash leeks. I'm assuming this was around the time she was entering into her political career so surely there were enough more interesting things to ask her about. The only other interview I remember seeing was a black woman (maybe Grace Jones but maybe someone else) saying her grandmother had been a slave. My mind was blown.
I've remembered these from around the time I was 10-14.

IF they are true - dreadful .
IF M knew but did nothing then also dreadful but I suspect she would then say she was ordered by “ someone” in the RF not to say anything .

It has nothing to do with Meghan. She is estranged from her father. Very unfair for the paper to insinuate such. But they will. Best that HAM do not comment on this at all & leave it in the hands of the law. Terrible…

I think the problem here is the irony. Your commenting on Thomas Markle selling stories yet H&M made a living out of selling stories about the royal family, they are as bad as each other...

I think it’s supposed to mean he hasn’t been in possession of anything in the Philippines property for two years, all the stuff that TMJr was rifling through. He is alleging that it wasn’t there when he left and TMJr put it there and then reported his father.
