Well we have had the attempted upstaging of the Welsh senate …..now the Oman state visit….we all hope that whatever advisors that they still have will not allow any thing to interfere with Aberfan! 🤞

It seems to me that the recent H reconciliation interview was just PR for his grief thing podcast thing so you would not expect any push back. He was facing an open goal. It was obvious he didn't answer any serious questions about how he intends to reconcile with his family in any meaningful way.

I don't know if H&M are intending a Diana documentary for a first look NF deal. But I just wonder how much would someone pay for a documentary where H&M outlined their mistakes , the misrepresentations , the half truths and insinuations and said Sorry. On screen . Properly. 😂 I am not for the avoidance of doubt an internationally recognised producer , it's an idle thought.

Vespanest · 20/10/2026 21:34

Harry is putting himself in an isolated position of not pleasing anyone. The ardent Sussex supporters are not impressed with the reconciliation and social media whilst maybe stealing attention it is in an negative way towards him. Then there's the royal family with yet another Harry whinge fest to wake upto tomorrow morning. He's earned a bit of cash but at what cost.

DontLiveByTheClouds · 20/10/2026 20:19

They've deleted one on page two. Check they will do this one.

Gosh, we’re all doing it tonight. It’s all William’s fault, obviously.

AlwaysRightISwear · 20/10/2026 21:34

Sadly I believe they are incapable of admitting mistakes of any kind.

DontLiveByTheClouds · 20/10/2026 21:46

Maybe the journalists don't push because they want H to metaphorically hang himself.

Lunde · 20/10/2026 21:46

CoffeeCantata · 20/10/2026 21:11

I’m baffled too, Electraby. Journalists usually pride themselves on being tough and tenacious but Harry seems to get fawned over all the time.

Why? Don’t they realise that 80% of the UK population dislike him and would want him to be put under pressure? I’m not advocating a bloodbath - just less of the fawning and letting him get away with vague accusations. Just follow up with a “Who do you mean?” or similar.

Any journos on here with any insight?

I'm not a journalist - but I think that HAM is like gold dust to the more tabloid leaning journalists as they provide huge income to publications with their constant clickbait interviews and PR briefings.

IMHO the journalists treat HAM like reality TV reality stars - they guarantee clicks and rage bait like the Kardashians, Celebrity Traitors and Katie Price combined. But celebrity status is not royal status. We have seen this before with royals the press love to hate....
Edward and Wallis with their faux royal, celebrity socialite appearances - that included charging for dances with Wallis 🙄
Princess Margaret sneaking off to Mustique with toyboy Roddy... 😮
Fergie with her toe-curling, toe-sucking, loud mouthed antics 🤐

I think for the press William and Kate are dull - they have a loyal circle of trusted family and friends that doesn't leak. Nor do they attempt headline grabbing stunts. They are royal and don't really care about grabbing headlines.

But the problem for HAM and their US-based publicists is - while engaging in feuds, self-absorbed mouthing off in the press and faux royal events might get column inches for celebrities.... it doesn't equal royalty which is based on trust and an ability to behave as a statesman/woman. HAM never understood the unique nature of constitutional royalty.

  • Harry just thinks he is special because he was born a prince and can therefore do and say what he wants
  • Meghan clearly treated it as an acting job from the start with her "I can't believe I'm not getting paid", "I went to HR" not to mention - "I didn't sign any contracts or NDAs"

Trust? No. Backstabbing celebrity culture.

Lunde · 20/10/2026 21:48

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/10/2026 21:22

"Celebrity interviews" are basically PR puff pieces. All questions will be approved in advance

Surely not, @IcedPurple; Oprah told us at the start of that interview that Meghan didn't know what topics would be raised, and she must have been telling the truth ... mustn't she? Hmm

😂😂😂

So another failure then, Vespanest?

It's true that "nobody challenging him" is frustrating, but to me his expression this time seemed halfway between wanting to hit someone and bursting into tears - not to mention the tortured thing he was doing with his feet

So rather than "getting away" with anything it seemed to me he's just shoving his head further into a noose, and all by his own doing

Using the children would be so far beyond crass, since it was children of that age....

But every time I think they have plumbed the depths of crassness, they manage to find something even worse to do, so who knows.

There are no depths HAM won't plummet to unfortunately

Starryfifty · 20/10/2026 21:53

Im pretty sure it was Chris Shit we questioned Harry about the optics of him in Ukraine and working royal. H actually scuttled away. If he was asked something uncomfortable, he'd just walk off I'm sure

ExOptimist · 20/10/2026 21:54

Passingthroughagain · 20/10/2026 19:11

I agree. I think William and Charles have probably had some tough conversations over the years about Diana but have come through it stronger. I also suspect the hand of the Middletons in their closeness. As 'normal' people with an outside perspective, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Carol respectfully pointed out that his dad was wronged by the Palace by not being allowed to marry Camilla in the first place. She has the vibe of a woman comfortable with sharing opinions!

I totally disagree about the Middletons. Under no circumstances would they criticise the royal family, especially in the circumstances you suggest, as that would mean criticism the late Queen. It would be the height of rudeness and crassness.

Even in normal families most people are diplomatic and would not criticise the actions of their son in law's family to his face.

Also you have no idea what they think of Camilla, whether they like her and whether he should have been allowed to marry her in the first place. Maybe they think Charles shouldn't have treated Diana so appallingly, who knows. I doubt they discuss any of that with William. I imagine they're incredibly diplomatic when it comes to matters of William's family.

Starryfifty · 20/10/2026 21:54

As an aside, Catherine looks stunning and I'm getting Disney Princess Belle vibes ❤️ Markle will really have you pull it out of the bag tomorrow

CoffeeCantata · 20/10/2026 21:56

@Lunde
That’s a good analysis. Yes, WaC ARE dull for the sensational tabloids precisely because they’re doing a good, steady, serious job and that doesn’t sell papers. I’m sure that’s the way they like it.Therefore HaM are the go-to for clickbait with their increasingly bonkers antics!

Mossyfox · 20/10/2026 21:57

IcedPurple · 20/10/2026 17:28

Give it a few hours and we'll have Kate and Camilla looking stunning in their finest jewels and gowns.

Competing for fleeting tabloid headlines is a losers' game. Perfect for the Sussexes.

You must be a clairvoyant. That's exactly what has happened. People are fed up with Harry and his neverending whinefests. I wouldn't be surprised if they are back in the US this time next year. But I didn't expect them back here so who knows.

ExOptimist · 20/10/2026 21:58

If Harry is now referring to his family as "broken", I wonder who broke it.

In his engagement interview didn't he gush about how wonderful it was to introduce her to a proper family etc etc, as she'd never had one?

Yes he did. All very sad

Starryfifty · 20/10/2026 22:05

Harry got what he wanted today. Headlines so it wasn't to be all about his brother

Badvocthebad · 20/10/2026 22:13

Honestly, if they try and stage something on the Aberfan anniversary, I don't think there will be any coming back from that.
There are plenty of people in the uk, and especially Wales, who remember the disaster and its devastation very well.
It was one of the few times QE2 got it wrong, and she was heavily criticised for it at the time.
But I really wouldn't put anything past them tbh

We’ll have to agree to disagree! Obviously it wouldn’t have been during their first meeting but I do believe it would’ve come up in conversation as they got to know their son in law. Carol and William are apparently very close and the Middletons aren’t constrained by Royal protocol in their own home.

Yep.
That's what these odd "interviews" are all about. Always have been. Photos of the back of the kids heads or As Ever insta posts flogging jam on the Wales children's birthdays, anniversaries etc
It's SO obvious and quite nasty.

Badvocthebad · 20/10/2026 22:18

It's morbidly fascinating to me.

You have to admire Catherine. She went through the whole Waity Katie thing, the question of her not being an aristocrat, her suitability to William. How she played anything of a scandal. She’s a class act.

Not once did she say, nobody asked if I was okay… Even after her terrible health setbacks. I think what hurts W most is how she was treated by Harry & Meghan. H was once a good friend & ally to her. A shame…

Mostly that Meghan had no idea what she was getting into at all. Not entirely her fault, but…

Did she get it wrong ? I am old enough to remember the tragedy and the heartbreaking aftermath.
Had HM visited immediately, it would have diverted resources and attention away from the rescue/ recovery effort and she would have been criticised for that .
