Well we have had the attempted upstaging of the Welsh senate …..now the Oman state visit….we all hope that whatever advisors that they still have will not allow any thing to interfere with Aberfan! 🤞

Neither of them are up to any royal role, can you imagine Catherine answering a child in this manner below?? Catherine would have said something like “not today but I been in one before, are they your favourite car?” Or something similar, she certainly wouldn’t have chastised the child and put him in his place for having an interest in cars. I also hate the way the media dress it up as “lighthearted” in their reporting, it wasn’t lighthearted at all, she was cutting that child down to size, horrible, horrible woman.

Meghan Markle laughed off a question from a schoolboy who asked if she had arrived in a Rolls-Royce during a visit to a local daycare and primary school class in Nottingham.
The lighthearted exchange occurred during a surprise appearance by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, where a group of children had been brought on a field trip and only told on-site that they would be meeting a celebrity.
When the boy asked his question about the luxury car, Meghan reportedly laughed and replied: "How funny that you're all so interested in cars; there are much more important things."

I had no idea she had said that to a small boy.

I agree @DaisyDooley . If I were handing out a report card for KC3's monarchy, in the arena of diplomacy he rates an A+++. His speechwriters are excellent and KC3's adroit delivery is the cherry on top.

I also think that KC3 has to deal with raw fact that his second son's histrionics are interfering with state business. The Oman State visit was announced before H's trip to the US when he recorded that trauma dumping interview. H could have easily blocked out release on the Oman trip dates as an interview pre-condition. But given HaM's track record of releasing things to coincide with royal family events/birthdays, I would not be surprised if it eventually came out that H purposefully dropped this interview on the date of the State Visit.

IMHO, it is quite an underhanded move to hijack headlines to stick it to King Pa with all other concerns, including UK-Oman international relations, dismissed as acceptable collateral damage.

They mistakenly believe they're being radical and supporting the underdog. Maybe challenging the King. They're stupid.

TBF I'm up for anyone challenging the king on all sorts of grounds but it doesn't take hiring an institution hungry buffoon at £80k or so to do it.

I'll go with a simple 'stupid' 😁

More like Sherborne, having seen H lie on oath, has decided not to risk what reputation he has left by continuing to represent H.

That's quite interesting actually, also would Harry not still owe him a few bob from the last disastrous ride into battle? Or was that a "no win no fee" yoke?

My point is that they're not challenging the King! They're supporting a privileged royal in his privilege and ultra royal lifestyle!

KCitsweyourHammiewevecomehomenow · 21/10/2026 21:05

I agree with Jeff, she’s an actress playing a role, it’s 90210, I don’t like shaming anyone for a role, I will happy critise the quality of the acting where appropriate however 😏

Harry doesn’t seem to realise that these CG interviews and piggybacking on royal events, doesn’t make him look like a team player so why would the RF want them back on their team. Neither of them have the patience to reconcile successfully with the RF. Did he really think they were desperate to have them back.

Though it's the media, BBC et al, that choose to give his ramblings the same prominence as the state visit.

That's just so nasty and spiteful. "More important things" ? Coming from the woman who has as much depth as a drop of piss

I don't really know who was the first and I don't think it matters. That show was mainstream. Most American tv is vanilla. There was just a suggestion of what she was doing.
Not as overtly sexual as the men's mag burger flipping or getting down to her pants in Suits.
She's always played the eye candy. She didn't cross a line though.
I've just seen your addendum and I agree. It didn't bother me one iota, but we're all different.

I agree with you that it doesn’t matter. But it certainly is a bit off to ask a person if they’ve seen an image because you think the action was acceptable and someone else didn’t.

Your reply could have been - I thought it was okay. Not to query if I knew what I was talking about.

I’ll never agree the scene was acceptable and I’m well aware of the other things she’s done - the burger add for example.

And just to clarify that I don’t think she did it because of misogyny either which is the reason people gave for her doing it when it was discussed a long time ago. Female empowerment is more than being able to make the choice Meghan did.

I just wonder if in his pathetic little victim head he thinks 'They can ignore when I'm in California, but they can't if I'm right here in Blighty!'

And yet, here he is doing all he can to get their attention and all he's achieved is a bland round robin from the King to the press to re-state that the terms of the Sandringham Summit remain in place and that nothing regarding their status has changed.

I find it all rather amusing Grin

I read somewhere (don't ask me where!) that Harry has said the Sandringham agreement no longer applied as it was made with the Queen and not Charles. I wonder what they'll do next. Can't see them happy to visit little village halls in the middle of nowhere with the crowds held back by plastic chairs.

wordler · 21/10/2026 21:29

I don't really think the Sandringham Agreement is something that Harry can do anything about whether it was with the Queen or the institution as a whole.

There are three main parts.

No half in half out. The only way that changes is if Charles lets either of them start doing official royal engagements representing the country. His recent statement reiterated that wasn't an option.

H&M doing their own royal looking activities is not half in. If they want to keep trying to do these on their own dime it doesn't really affect the rest of the RF. I can't imagine there will be much enthusiasm from the Sussex camp when there are diminishing crowds and no money to be made from it. There's no opting in to half in without official recognition.

HRH in abeyance. I know Meghan's used it on a note card or two but any serious attempt to start using it on a regular basis would definitely lead to it being removed completely.

Not using royal status to make money. They were already doing this in the US so I don't think that's going to change much. Maybe Charles will care more about it at a closer view but I honestly don't think they'll be successful enough in anything to make a difference.

hacnocteequitamus · 21/10/2026 21:30

I don’t think she should be shamed for her roles but it isn’t out of line I think to discuss it.

Any act can be alluded to and is often all the better for it.

You don’t have to see someone going at it like knives.

After berating her dolly-ness on DonD, she says she felt objectified and was treated like a bimbo and it was the reason she left.

And yet she went on to accept the roles and the acts that she was asked to simulate in later shows. If that isn’t objectification then I don’t know what is.

A job is a job is a job - but you don’t have to agree to do that. There is the option of saying no.

I like Rob J. He is always very fair and measured. He was on JK this morning and for the first time he has said he thinks it's time the Palace took some action. He has always been in the Grey Rock, ignore them camp

Regarding Meg and the blow job scene. If she came out and said she is no longer going or discuss the RF or leak to press and said she was going into the porn industry to earn a living, I would say fair play. I'd have more respect for her than the ridiculous way they are living now

The King doesn't control the press.

Celebrity and controversy will always find more column inches than business.

Meanwhile, the business will still happen.

Don't tell me what my reply "could have been".
My reply was what it was. My decision.
I think misogyny is at play because women and girls are slut shamed and routinely blamed for their sexuality in a way that men are not.
What about the man in that scene? Has he no culpability? Men are judged to a different standard.
