The continuing story of the Sussexes and their PR issues.

OP posts:

Nile Gardiner, Heritage Foundation, suggests the Sussex Squad may be Russian-backed as part of an attempt the destabilise the monarchy. If he's right (it's a possibility), HaM become Putin Puppets.

At the time of Megxit, didn’t they say the monarchy had no jurisdiction over the use of the term ‘royal’ globally? That was in addition to the ‘service is universal’ clap back. H should be ashamed of himself.

'Service is universal' was in a written statement so no rowing back from that one.

Did anyone see Camilla's programme about books and reading? She said she and KC both sit down and do quiet reading before dinner. She has been put off by him rocking with laughter though - I'm wondering if he was reading "Spare"?.

P.G. Wodehouse is what she said. I can understand that he would enjoy Bertie Wooster and Jeeves.

That was a very good documentary, I was particularly touched by the man who only learned to read later in life. It also struck me how many intelligent women of Camilla’s generation missed on fulfilling their potential because the idea of an education for them was finishing school. Camilla educated herself through reading. Meanwhile M went to one of the top universities in the US and she’s incredibly uncultured. I wonder when she last read a book?

I do wonder. Neither of them are interested in the theatre or music or anything cultural.
Camilla was aware of the limitations of her education, and her determination to educate herself has been laudable. She reads for pleasure every evening with KC, and often reads non fiction on holiday.

Iirc MM has been quoted directly before that neither her nor PH read books

Doesn't surprise me. They're so clueless about everything.

Wouldn't in the least surprise me. There'd be numerous layers of plausible deniability. It's why I thought the faux-royal tours to Nigeria etc were so dangerous.

If it's true, I'm sure the security services know all about it.

But I think they under-estimate our monarchy if they think it can be destabilized by the likes of the Sussex Squad. Affection and respect for Catherine has only increased since she was targeted.

Harry definitely on record saying he has never read a book. I don't think it's something Meg would admit to but she seems so unbelievably vacuous, I would put money on her not a fan of reading

It makes sense. Harry and Meghan are willing fools.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · Today 15:29

It would not surprise me either. Nor would it surprise me that if and when the shit hit the fan the HaMs found themselves on their own.

PleasantGreenPorcupine · Today 15:30

Maybe that's what all the crazy Regent stuff was about. Off the scale.

You're right pp, it was PH. [My recollection varied, apologies 😄]

MM I think said she doesn't read the press reports about herself. I'm not convinced.

Oh please no one say the R word. I skipped 3 threads until it was safe to come back again

Sorry if it’s been covered, is there anything more in Harry’s full diary this month?

It makes sense but Security Services would be fully aware

It's as full as his hairline

....he fills in the gaps himself.

The Sussex PR team is earning its money this weekend, targeting each title with a different delusion story. The Express's is that M is to be paid £3.7m for a two-hour come-back episode of Suits in what a Hollywood source describes as 'an impossible to refuse' deal. It's to be filmed entirely in the UK.

Changing the subject, if M was serious about As ever, she would have timed the rumoured UK launch to hit the Christmas season. I bet the UK launch amounts to no more than her saying 'I'm planning a UK launch'.

AutumnCrowInTheTrafficFlow · Today 15:39

IdaGlossop · Today 13:23

It's a real conundrum for the palace. If they do nothing, Charles is accused of being weak. If they remove titles, about the only action they can take, they look spiteful.

Tom Sykes says today that the only reason for HaM wanting state-funded securidee is so they can turn up at events like NottingHaM looking Royal. I'm not sure I agree. I think they want any outing to involve a convoy that embiggens them.

a convoy that embiggens them

Grin Beautiful

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · Today 15:39

Let#s hope for MM's remaining credibility that the Express report is more believable than its' weather forecasts.

😂😂😂😂

😂😂 two official engagements this week. Upstaging Aberfan. Upstaging state visit.

I predict 3/4 view of Lili's face. Verbiage from H about his MH, grief and panic attacks on way to work

The current Duke of Gloucester, his wife, and Sophie attended the reburial of Richard III, who had been Duke of Gloucester before becoming king. He is also the patron for the Richard III society. Richard III's new coffin was made from wood from the Duchy of Cornwall.

Fancy knowing that about the coffin.

I predict all the coverage will be Aberfan this week. Rookie mistake to try and upstage that.
