A crowd has turned out to see them. It’s currently being covered live on Sky News. Why on earth would anyone do this?

They aren’t working royals. They are just a pair of chancers who have scuttled back to Britain with their tails between their legs because they have died on their arses in the US. And now people are tugging their forelocks to them here.

People really are absolute fucking morons.

@Constantrunner ·
All the royals are celebrities

They aren’t. Do you think the Duchess of Gloucester is a celebrity comparable to, say, Melania Trump?

Z List celebrity

But why does that mean they can’t do this stuff?

Because it is odd to do walk abouts and shaking hands he is replicating his old life that he slammed and said made him miserable, he can't pick anything he has to flit between numerous charities and organisations, because imo he is fickle and doesn't care about what he does as long as he is seen doing it, he is as deep as a puddle.

It's a charity. Their presence has obviously caused the media to cover the event, and plebs to post on public forums about it too - all of which raises the profile of the charity and increases the efficacy and reach of its efforts to benefit those in need. Don't you think that's a little more important than your being butt-hurt because a couple of people you don't even like or respect left the country and came back and said/wrote some stuff you didn't like in between? Perhaps it's time to let your grudges go.

So what if the public profile of this charity rose slightly for 5 minutes? Let's not forget that Meghan only has an association with Himmah Hub because she had been a working royal and a visit was arranged for her back then. She and Harry left the country for several years and she had nothing to do with the charity for all that time. Now she's back, she suddenly remembers it and uses it for her "public engagement".

The only reason the media covered the event is because of the royal connection, because they had once been working royals. The association with this charity is nothing to do with anything that Harry and Meghan themselves planned and implemented - it was all done for Meghan by royal aides.

It's yet another example of how they messed things up for themselves. They profess to want to be "public figures" and perform "service", but they ruined the best opportunity they had to do that and trashed the biggest and most impactful platform they had.

simpsonthecat · 16/10/2026 08:37

What a mean post. I read on BBC website that she had always kept in touch with the Grenfell women and Himmah Hub are part of that, they received a £10,000 donation from the cookbook.

Good luck to them, I hope they do more of this.

ExtraHotDoubleShot · 16/10/2026 08:37

I find them just so unbearably cringey.

I respected their choice to ‘be private people’ but it’s just been one PR disaster after another since then. They have no sticking power, their plans and business ideas change 24/7, and they make endless snotty statements which come back to bite them on the arse (remember the ‘zero engagement with British tabloids’?).

I wish they’d just bugger off and end the global privacy tour already. It’s so clear they’re back as they’re in financial trouble and are trying to soft launch their return to the RF who don’t want them.

I agree the family don't want them back. Because they caused so much trouble in the past few years. And nobody has any reason to believe that anything will change in the future. In or out of duties - royal or otherwise. Meghan causes discord nearly everywhere she goes. Harry was covered up for years by PR being the aimiable cheerful cheeky chappie. Which he clearly isn't.

I am not a fan, but this is unfair. On the TV news it said Harry visited and made a donation to the charity he visited and has been involved with for 13 years. 13 years involvement is not flirting about.

Exactly. And his support of Wellness Child as Patron has spanned 18 years. And he has attended the WellChild awards for 16 of those years (covid stopped 2), the videos of them all are on youtube in case anyone doubts it.
I believe that is 'sticking power' surely

It's nice that the royal family helped arrange that connection for her then. "Keeping in touch" has raised Himmah Hub's profile for about 5 minutes in the past five years, and apparently we are meant to be Harry and Meghan commending them for raising the profiles of charities.

It's also cool that an organisation in Nottingham helped a group in London.

BunnyBunbunbun · 16/10/2026 09:07

Yes, it's fantastic that Harry and Meghan are continuing their connections with charities that they only became involved with because they had been working royals. It's noteworthy that since they stopped being working royals they haven't been able to create any new relationships with any other charities.

What happened to their charity Archewell? Does anyone know?

I've just seen coverage of this for the first time this evening. I saw someone presented them with a framed photo of their first trip there in 2017. I was shocked to see how different Meghan looks now. You can see where she's clearly had surgery. She's aged very badly.

This is just nonsense, I’m not sure what surgery she has meant to have had & Im sure like all women in the public eye she dabbles in non surgical stuff but she is objectively an attractive women who looks good for her age.

Fair enough 😂

I just avoid the celebs who annoy me & don’t give them one iota of headspace, zero point imo

And how much of a connection have they had in the last 6 years, none I’m guessing. Until they become useful again.

I think it’s natural to find something irrationally irritating and want to vent about it

At the end of the day they’re doing their utmost to bring themselves to public attention, get in the news, and therefore we sort of see it all whether we aim to or not

So they can’t whinge when people find them annoying

dulwich999 · 16/10/2026 09:28

Objectively being the key word.

What a shame that the photo of her the other day (in London) was altered. The comparison between that and the Nottingham photos was marked.

When even those taking pictures of you feel that they have to fancy them up a bit, then ‘objective’ may be more widespread.

Like all women, we change as we get older. Some interfere with nature, some help nature, some let nature do what it wants to.

There is no right or wrong. Though in my opinion, treatments are meant to enhance one’s appearance, not alter it.

It does however sadden me when people interfere hugely with an attractive face. I think she would have aged beautifully without any cosmetic intervention whatsoever.

The problem is, when you court publicity, you have to take the bad with the good, and H&M just can't come to terms with that, hence all the unsubstantiated and quite bizarre conspiracy theories.
Some people won't like you, it even happened with Diana, that's public life.

In the last 6 years we’ve had:
Archewell
Riviera Orchard or whatever it was called
As ever
Their Netflix show
Meghan’s film that may or may not have been cancelled
Their Spotify podcast that got ended
Spare and his book deal
Meghan’s random voice overs
Constant appearances on the red carpet

And now this. We’re bloody exhausted

Chapti · 16/10/2026 09:34

Tedious publicity junkies. I wish they'd fuck off back to California.

But he left with the intention of not just ‘supporting’ but being CEO/Master.

He wanted a massive brand like the Gates foundation, where they could be in charge but delegate the boring stuff to other people

The fact is they just don’t have business acumen. They’re not bright, either of them. Fine to turn up looking glittery and do a bit of simply schmoozing but they have nothing beyond that.

Hence none of their actual business or charity ventures working out

SabrinaBricklayer · 16/10/2026 09:37

I stopped following what they were up to a couple of years ago as they got too repetitive and predictable. Now they are back doing ‘engagements’, what was the point of the last six years? They’ve gone full circle and are basically back where they started, but without the royal perks. They might as well have not bothered.

SilenceInside · 16/10/2026 09:37

@ExtraHotDoubleShot "we're" not exhausted. You find it exhausting. Me, I don't pay much attention to what the royal family do day to day, as I am not interested in them as celebrities and I am not in favour of the monarchy in general. So if you find them exhausting, then I would try just ignoring them altogether. It's really quite easy to do!

But if people didn’t click on it, write comments etc there would be no interest. The very people who often want them to “go away” consume everything about them & drive the interest 😆
