The royal family

H&M are currently doing a ‘Royal’ walkabout thing in Nottingham.

A crowd has turned out to see them. It’s currently being covered live on Sky News. Why on earth would anyone do this?

They aren’t working royals. They are just a pair of chancers who have scuttled back to Britain with their tails between their legs because they have died on their arses in the US. And now people are tugging their forelocks to them here.

People really are absolute fucking morons.

This kind of complaint is so strange.
How dare someone not supported by taxpayers visit charities and do a public walkabout on their own money!!!!
Harry has supported these charities for years and years. They obviously appreciate his support and people obviously want to see them both.

All of that aside, I’d assume you’re a bit relieved that Tom Cruise isn’t targeting them for nefarious reasons. Actually, for balance, would you be worried if he did have them in his sights?

They donated money to the charities they visited today and helped to raise their profile.

Link?

I don't personally mix with rapists of sex trafficked teenagers. But it has been reported many times.

Where? Please link or show, otherwise don’t post assertions.

I've just seen coverage of this for the first time this evening. I saw someone presented them with a framed photo of their first trip there in 2017. I was shocked to see how different Meghan looks now. You can see where she's clearly had surgery. She's aged very badly.

I’ve said this on the long running thread. Comments about hair, within reason, am ok with (H started it). Comments re fashion choices, no problem with. But I’m uncomfortable re comments on actual physicality - we all age and we’re all going to look different nearly 10 years later (whether or not you’ve had bad tweaks or not). There’s enough to delve into re their actual behaviour, rather than their physical makeup.

They have donated to the charities they visited today.

Sources for this please.

Irene is 90 years old. She is kissing the ‘royal’ hand, with cameras pointing at her. There’s a lot of media there. What’s it all for? Why are H and M back in Salty Island?

Anyway that’s the visit finished. Back in the car now to relax with some soothing elixirs.

(Image under review - it’ll take a couple of minutes.)

Wtf is that real?

And they receive massive perks eg chauffeurs, maids, cleaning staff, chefs, personal doctors, stylists, a huge number of homes if you are the main players, admin staff, couture clothes. They receive special deals from the firms who work with them via the royal warrant scheme eg Range Rover and Fortnums and many more. If that’s not half in and half out, I don’t know what is?

No, that is not "half in, half out." Those are privileges associated with the position—politicians have similar ones...
"Half in, half out" refers to the possibility of conducting personal business—favoring certain companies, which is detrimental to the Crown, that in such matters must be neutral—or entering into deals with companies that have a questionable track record, which is also harmful.
Citizens tend to be very alert regarding this; it was one of the reasons why the Edinburghs stepped back from their private business ventures back in 2002...
The potential private business activities of the royals are governed by what are known as the "Luce Directives," which are so strict that they make any personal business venture outside of the Crown practically impossible.

Edited

You have to be joking?

the possibility of conducting personal business—favoring certain companies, which is detrimental to the Crown, that in such matters must be neutral

Andrew - trade - selling trade info - his mother our late queen and head of state lobbied hard to keep in that position.

  • entering into deals with companies that have a questionable track record, which is also harmful - Again, Andrew - trade - Kazaks and horses for his mother - bags of cash KC, unexplained explosion of royal family wealth, unexplained wealth of Phillip and on and on and on.

Citizens tend to be very alert regarding this Indeed they are

This is just so naive. Bloody hell.

I don't know if you know but the casual use of the word " triggered" is considered to be the trivialisation of , minimising and mocking the severe impacts of trauma and PTSD. There is a clinical meaning of this word and it's not the situation here is it ? There are more respectful terms that can be used .

Oh stop it.

I have severe trauma - the "mis" use of the word "triggered" is the least of my worries. And anyone who is actually diagnosed with trauma or PTSD will tell you the same. Ridiculous!

are they Fred & Rose West? no.

Or even Andrew M W?

But perhaps, that is the reason? If the focus is on them, the very very bad can be hidden...

There are many people, some on here, who think of H&M as worse than AMW. Which is appalling.

with regards to this site/ these threads, I call bollocks on this statement.

Firstly, am pretty sure that everyone on these threads is in complete agreement rem AMW. There is no need for debate at all regarding that man. There may, occasionally, be pushback on some of the terminology used regarding him, but it’s never in defence of him.

HaM are a whole different topic, trying to conflate the two is a different type of whataboutery.

The reasons they left the UK are out there for all to see, in their owns words and actions - the OW interview, the Netflix series, Spare, and a whole host of other comments and sound bites.

Why on earth they’d want to come back and subject themselves to what they’ve escaped from is beyond me.

Fairweathersorties9 · 16/10/2026 03:10

Totally agree.

H&M rather naively spoke up about some of things that bothered them when they were part of The Firm and because they spoke out they get a global smear campaign aimed at them, unrelenting negative press and comment, and they are ostracised by the RF.

And AMW meanwhile who hasn’t said anything publicly against The Firm but according to Entitled and other sources has been committing serious fraud for over ten years while in public office, passed on secret trade information for personal gain, and has invited a Libyan gun runner, an alleged Chinese spy and a paedophile to royal palaces, and has been involved inappropriately with vulnerable women, is housed and protected by the royal family for over a decade, is currently being paid a one million pound annual allowance and they paid £12 million on his behalf to stop a court case going ahead so he wouldn’t have to face a trial.

Very skewed values if you ask me.

And yet everyone seems to read Rebecca English in the Daily Mail who is captain of the Royal Rota and unquestioningly accepts her narrative on this.

GarlicEverything · 16/10/2026 03:11

It was a bit sparse. Looked about 50/50 reporters/public. H&M did put on a good show, to be fair.

Mmmm. I have seen a lot more defence of AMW on this site than an occasional pushback about terminology.

And the RF’s collusion with AMW over the VG payment, and a significant cover up of his nefarious activities for over a decade, is not simply whataboutery I’m afraid. It’s a really serious issue.

And of course there is a connection between the two topics because I no longer trust an institution that knowingly covers up criminality bc it lessens their overall credibility and makes me more sympathetic to H&M’s standpoint,

And it’s very clear now how senior members of the RF use PR and their connections within the media to distract attention away from certain things that they don’t want aired in the press and they will use more minor members of the family as collateral damage in this game, which was one of H’s original complaints in the first place. And I believe him about that.

twolattes · 16/10/2026 04:10

It’s lovely to see them out and about ! Haters couldn’t keep them these two down - and love that Instagram and other sites mean that people that wish Diana’s boy and his wife nothing but happiness can show their support and rise above the envy of those sucking lemons

Hahaha
That pesky milk advert for the Chinese by Peter Phillips complete with Palace in the background and footman serving him a glass of milk must have slipped through the net then 😅

Ditto his £150 hampers for QE2's birthday on the Mall where he trousered .hundreds of thousands for his Events company.
He then unsuccessfully tried to put an ice rink at Kensington Palace for another company he set up but it didn't happen because of some security reasons

Zara/Mike sold pics of their firstborn to Hello on a 13 page spread for a massive amount.. those that query she is not a working Royal ...the couple are when they choose to be, royal garden parties etc. Half in half out.

So please don't tell me they do not cash in, they all do. H&M are just more open about it.

And for those querying the donations the couple have made, I can't link it now but I read it on the BBC website

simpsonthecat · 16/10/2026 05:56

And to add to Peter Phillips £150 hampers for QE's birthday, this was not put out to tender, as her grandson, he just got the deal !

Octoberismyfave · 16/10/2026 06:27

I can definitely understand why people went to see them, like it or not I think people do find them interesting and, to an extent, quite intriguing. More so than someone like Princess Anne or Prince Edward, even though they do more. Meghan is a very glamorous woman and he was a very well liked royal and they’ve not been out much in public in UK for years and I suppose people want to see them out and about.

Octoberismyfave · 16/10/2026 06:30

NewGirlInTown · 15/10/2026 19:08

Fake as fuck. Fewer than 100 people, all PR’d in.
Markle as manic as ever. Wonder which substances the two of them were on today.
It’s pathetic and fools no one.

Based on what facts? Genuinely interested.

beencaughttrollin · 16/10/2026 06:41

It's a charity. Their presence has obviously caused the media to cover the event, and plebs to post on public forums about it too - all of which raises the profile of the charity and increases the efficacy and reach of its efforts to benefit those in need. Don't you think that's a little more important than your being butt-hurt because a couple of people you don't even like or respect left the country and came back and said/wrote some stuff you didn't like in between? Perhaps it's time to let your grudges go.

dulwich999 · 16/10/2026 06:59

I can definitely understand why people went to see them too.

Much as back in the day they used to go and see 12 legged kittens and three headed pigs in jars, the world’s smallest/tallest men and women with a tail.

They are the modern day Barnum and Bailey exhibition.

They are but a curiosity for many.

Octoberismyfave · 16/10/2026 07:06

I think they make the royal family more interesting TBH, without them it would all be boring walkabouts and garden parties… and a paedophile obviously.

Excellent points, especially after their campaign to smear the RF, and them telling proven lies. For money.
Being royal is very important to them, it gives them status and fame. They obviously love it all and probably regret the "Freedom Flight".
This is really what they want to do. Royal life.

This in a nutshell!

And while we are all reading this thread; if anyone wants to donate to Himmah:

https://www.himmah.org/

and/or a charity they work alongside:

https://salaamshalomkitchen.co.uk/

Please, please do so!

I can vouch for the fact, through someone who volunteers with them, that they are a really hands on, practical, support organisation, doing valuable work in some very deprived areas of the city, and your money will be put towards some very family oriented causes such as operating Nottingham’s largest independent food bank, weekly hot meals for those in need, and the distribution of school uniforms to those on a very low-income.

Salaam Shalom Kitchen Nottingham - A joint Muslim / Jewish charity project

Salaam Shalom Kitchen is a joint Muslim/Jewish project based in Nottingham - serving hot meals and providing a friendly environment to those in need.

Liars are not interesting to me.

Not as bad as a sleazy uncle granted.

But then when you get into the realms of lying to cause mistrust, disgust and hurt?

Yes, every bit as bad as sleazy uncle.

Plenty rumours swirl around them too. You aren’t throwing those allegations about so readily eh?
