But his children were already being educated in an urban area in California so why pull them out of that settled environment & put them in school here only to pull them out after a couple of days for another school.
Basically why are they here?

Harry has every right to be here as a British citizen.

And like many expats families they have a right to make decisions to move so their dc can access the best education they can.

Why is it your business to know why?

You're right. However, they have to keep issuing statements because they're desperate for publicity.
They're nothing without it.
They are like 18thC royals, only doing the minimum to get applause, not answering to anyone and trading on titles.

I think they literally are unable to even fathom the concept. For different reasons.

They might be a perfect match for this point alone. Harry thinks it’s his duty and Meghan craves the attention?

Which makes them absolutely oblivious.

I think it's an interesting choice. Perhaps Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet will be acknowledged as more royal in the UK.
I suspect there's not many folks bowing in California.

Starryfifty · Yesterday 09:42

I genuinely believe KC has assured them that they won't lose titles. I totally understand HAM need to make a living. Personally I don't think they need money. They just want status and publicity

TheAutumnCrow · Yesterday 09:43

I’m surprised the Times got the sweatshirt story so wrong. Bit of a silly error for a ‘paper of record’.

BunnyBunbunbun · Yesterday 09:43

Bloomandbust · Yesterday 09:23

Except everyone is holding them to the same standard aren’t they?

And its’s unfair because H&M don’t have the same resources or structure around them as when they worked under the umbrella of the RF. Nor do they have favourable press such as the royal rota being deferential about them.

I don’t blame Harry for carrying on doing charity work. He has consistently said he still wanted to serve right back from the Sandringham summit days. His unique circumstances of birth mean he can’t get an ordinary job. And I think he has a knack for it. And let’s face it, he isn’t really trained for anything else.

Later on in his life, I can see him being a ranger in an elephant conservation area in Botswana or somewhere, flying helicopters etc, but for now his children need to be educated which means he has to live in a more urban setting.

Edited

How many private citizens working for charities have the resoures of a state institution? Harry has a 1000 times more resources than oridinary charity workers.

Harry wants to "serve back" (I think you mean "give back" here) because that's his way to promote himself. If he really wanted to serve and give back, he would have remained a working royal, because that is the most effective platform and he had a unique opportunity.

Few charities in the UK will want to start an association with him now. He was only at this award ceremony beause it was a WellChild event, a charity he has been associated with since his working royal, pre-Meghan days.

"Later on in his life, I can see him being a ranger in an elephant conservation area in Botswana or somewhere, flying helicopters etc,"

Hilarious. Harry's association with elephant conservation isn't that much to write home about. From elephants and rhinos being drugged and tethered so he could take impressive photos with them to having served on the board of an African wildlife charity whose rangers abused the human rights of indigenous communities.

It’s starting to look like it, from a certain angle.

One can only hope there’s at least an ‘unless …’ clause, along the lines of ‘You won’t lose the titles … unless there is a financial scandal / abuse scandal / evidence of criminal wrongdoing / Sentebale proves its case’.

Yeah, I know the latter’s too hopeful. Maybe all of it.

It's interesting because of the Freedom Flight in 2020 & only last year Harry said it's not safe for his family to live in the UK... what has gone so badly wrong in the U.S to backtrack so quickly & publicy..

Every single video of those kids, is Archie walking, running, biking, scooting ahead and Lili trailing behind. Every single time.
I have never seen any interaction between the kids…ever. Or even interaction of the kids with their dogs.
That’s not normal behaviour

Oh fhs what you see on-line is literally a snap shot. Archie is a little boy, an older brother, running ahead of his sister. That’s perfectly normal behaviour.

None of us have any idea what their sibling relationship is like.

I think you are grasping at straws to try and find things to criticise at this point.

You don’t have to like their parents but I think’s it’s despicable to pick on children as a means of criticising them.

Edited

It’s not normal that this is the ONLY view that we’ve seen.

There isnt one single picture, video of the children interacting, playing a board game, making a cake, playing tag, building a den. There is zero interaction.

Yes, they've said a lot of things.
Most of which have turned out to be untrue. Strange how some people still take them at their word.

PleasantGreenPorcupine · Yesterday 09:50

They should stop using their children for publicity. Seriously.

Also if he really wanted to give back he would be living his grief "masterclass" for free not 75k...

How were they not treated with flexibility?

For a start the Sandringham summit by all accounts was a fait accompli and not a proper discussion with only one version - the RF approved version - of documents prepared for signing.

And the SA tour was in reality quite gruelling when Meghan had only had Archie four months before. H&M had had quite a heavy schedule imposed upon them and Meghan had done well with it throughout her pregnancy with Archie. But the RF always make mistakes with incomers. They get little feedback or thanks from the monarch who is the person that matters. And that’s what led her to complain to Tom Bradby when he asked her how she doing, which was basically what lead to their downfall.

My personal theory is that if one senior member in the RF had bothered to ask Meghan that question themselves, I suspect this whole family feud wouldn’t have arisen and H&M wouldn’t have left.

No. They were given the tours they asked for.
Gruelling? A busy schedule, yes. Within assistants, nannies, dressers, housekeeping, cooks and drivers.
So. A very prestigious tour where they were cheered and lauded. Hardly "gruelling".
The Sandringham Summit? What did they expect? That they could have all the status, wealth and privilege and none of the demands of working royals?
You have no idea that no-one asked Meghan how she was. I think it's a wild claim.
However, that's Harry and Meghan for you.

No actually, if you read my post properly, I said Harry wanted to serve, right back from the days of the Sandringham Summit.

And it’s entirely possible to want to do charity work but not want to stay within the RF if his wife was struggling.

I think in reality they tried to help her and she rebuffed every offer of assistance. “I’ve got this” seemed to be her mantra.

I also think at that point she’d burned some bridges. Having an interaction with her boyfriend’s sister-in-law appear in an obscure gossip column in Canada wasn’t a great way to begin.

They went on to do things their way. “Hit the ground running”.

Her husband, mother and friends should been supporting her. Did they not?

Lastly, they issued a public statement about their role and their plan with respect to the Queen without consulting her or the institution. They thought that was a fait accompli and very badly misjudged.
