Still interested, still not bored….a small request please 🙏…can we try to keep criticism to actions and behaviour and rather than getting personal.😁

Interesting that on the day Harry releases something that should attract headlines and media interest, his wife manages to steal most of the attention by presumably tipping off the press and appearing in public dressed as…well, who knows what she was aiming for, but if it was ‘dog’s breakfast’ she nailed it.

Poor Malala. In one of the photos Meghan is doing that ‘right in your face, intense and meaningful look’ beloved of manipulators everywhere.

Hope he's not going to encourage drug use on his masterclass

Just a few mushrooms, get advice from the kitchen bin.

According to the Daily Mail, Harry and Meghan’s friends have been doing some rather interesting briefing about their new “humble” life in Britain. You heard that right, humble. 🤭

And the sound bites are absolutely priceless.

🔹 “She is very conscious about how she wants pictures to land.”

Translation: IMAGE MANAGEMENT. Apparently, even being photographed requires careful consideration of how it will be received.

🔹 “They think that if they start posting stuff on Instagram it will land badly.”

Well, isn’t THAT interesting? After years of relentless publicity, interviews, documentaries, accusations and carefully curated social media content, are we finally witnessing a flicker of self-awareness? Hell nah!

🔹 “They don’t want to shove themselves down people’s throats.”

Oh, the irony! Someone should have explained that concept to them six years ago.

🔹 “They are optimistic that there will be a revision of their security soon.”

And THERE it is. The security issue makes its appearance, conveniently tucked into this narrative of humility, family happiness and a fresh start.

🔹 “Things are going well with Harry’s family as well, but nothing more to be said there.”

How convenient. Another positive claim from an unnamed friend, with absolutely no specifics to substantiate it.

🔹 “The relocation to the UK is being served with a dose of humble pie.”

Humble pie? Meghan is stepping out in $2,250 clown pants and a $6,600-plus Chanel handbag, while anonymous friends brief the press about how carefully she’s managing her public image.

That’s not exactly my definition of humility.

What’s even more laughable is the admission that Harry and Meghan are now deeply concerned about how the public perceives them. Sure Jan 👌🏼 Not necessarily about WHY people have formed those opinions. Not about accountability for the damage caused by their own words and actions.

But about how to make their next move LAND. Yes folks, LAND! I mean Wow!

On another note how did she walk in those shoes, the points are so sharp her toes must have been in agony!

I think the shoes are fine, women wear pointed toe shoes all the time.
The only issue for me is mostly the length of the trousers, but it's not a great outfit.

MrsLeonFarrell · 09/10/2026 07:09

Harry has nothing to offer except his grief at this point. He talks about it, is possibly going to create a documentary about it (under his mother's name, like uncle like nephew apparently), he earns his money talking about it and with all that obvious and unnamed grief driving him, he thinks he can counsel others? Whilst he insists on remaining at the top of the victim/ grief pyramid he has nothing useful to offer.

I know others whose identity became all about a person they lost. It isn't healthy and it stunts your life.

On the security question, if RAVEC judge that they need security they should get it. But I rather doubt they will need it.

The shoes just don't go with the trousers, an open top sandal or wedge would have been better. To me they look extremely uncomfortable so kudos to Meghan to be able to walk in them & not trip over her MC Hammar pants.. the shoes would look better with a trouser suit or tailored dress.
How did she get this outfit so incredibly wrong especially since it was a big moment for her & first time being photographed in London since the Freedom Flight returned..

I now have 3 separate PR threads running in parallel so I get the privilege of commenting contemporaneously while not missing out on the jammy bits from closed threads. Morning everyone! To me, the lovely Malala’s afternoon tea story is a great example of mainstream media distortion / misinformation. I believe she is busy with her work and life and doesn’t read mumsnet, X or other sites to realise what else is brewing beneath the beige cashmere and diamonds facade our Duchess projects. She probably thinks she’s meeting with a philanthropist activist feminist who wants to collaborate on girls’ education. I don’t think she realises it will probably be a 5 min photo op on a stage with MM (posing in crumply clothing) and a 125 quid cheque donation afterwards, never to be repeated again till there’s another glittering Buckingham Palace news story.

in other news, Foxy prince’s hair is looking lush!!!

@hamsterwheeloffortune I ordered the dark advent calendars! Had to get a few to justify the postage :)))) going back to thread 41 and 46, apologies for my tardiness.

Surely Malala has google?

Harshreality · 09/10/2026 07:26

Apologies if this has already been mentioned, find it hard to keep up with the threads, but just saw this quote on BBC news : "The Duke of Sussex has said he "slipped into depression for about two weeks" after relocating to Canada in 2019 ahead of his move to the US."

Now I've never had depression, but I found the description that Allie Brosh gave in Hyperbole and A Half very haunting. It has never left me how horrific and incomprehensible clinical depression is to those who haven't suffered it.

What an insensitive clod he is.

What an insensitive clod he is.

My worst depression was after DM died. It took me 18 months on Citalopram and THAT'S a measure of how bad it was, that I actually asked the GP for medication.

Re H as 'grief counsellor' - I lurk on the Ask A Manager site. There are often posts asking about therapists being brought into work by managers keen to do this and that therapeutic work with staff, and it's routinely pointed out that untrained therapists and counsellors can do a lot of damage and have no idea how to deal with the fallout.

I'm angered by the man's sheer staggering arrogance that he's the only one who has ever suffered and he's uniquely qualified to give advice (if that's what he's doing). I really hope some attendees ask what his qualifications are, (apart of course being the only person ever to have lost a parent as a child).

If he is doing counselling then I hope that organisation has rock solid insurance. Someone'll get upset and someone will sue.

notimagain · 09/10/2026 07:50

I know it's unfashionable to tell someone to get a grip but having read that BBC piece somebody needs to tell H to get a chuffing grip.

I'm inclined to agree with a poster from a while back that some of H's initial depression after the so called escape could have simply been down to the time change...UK> West Coast N America can be a sod and leave you feeling like a zombie for several days.

He's banging on about having been to war twice....he's not the first, he won't be the last, and many deployed to Afghanistan more than twice.

Never being away from the kids for more than ten days? Again, nice job/option if you can get it...in the real world however Mums and Dads may not get a choice and I do think him perhaps making out the self declared limit makes him some sort of better Dad is pretty obnoxious....

He does seem to want to sit at the centre at some sort of enternal pity party....he'd be better off actually getting a proper job.

How can they honestly think they can rehabilitate their image? They are deeply & popular, the public won't forget the way they destroyed Prince Philip & Queen Elizabeths final years by selling countless stories to the media or of Meghan's callous treatment of her own father.
I doubt Camilla , Catherine & William have forgotten all the blatent accusations they sold about them..

Two things I want to say
1), it REALLY annoys me when people flaunt their wealth by wearing an expensive pair of trousers like that (SO beyond the budget of 99% of the people they're showing off to), with such a blatant disregard for the fact that they would be completely wrecked on the first outing by dragging on the pavement/in puddles. (yes, and I'm also looking at Victoria Beckham here).
2), Harry's reference to sniffing his mother's signature perfume in an attempt to trigger his emotions re his mother - when it's been widely suggested that Meghan intentionally wore the same fragrance for their first few dates. He really was a sitting duck, wasn't he?

Re point 2: oh that's a bit sick. Like verging on not-appropriate, if MM wore his late mother's perfume on dates with PH. 🤢 I can believe she would. Bluergghhh.

Malala lives in the UK (the Invictus city of Birmingham, in fact) and studied politics, philosophy and economics at Oxford. She's an advocate for social issues, in the kind of way Harry and Meghan wish to be. She has an organisation that funds and promotes her work with education. She probably has all sorts of people trying to get her attention and get her to collaborate with them and so must be used to assessing people and their motives. I find it hard to believe that she's unaware of who Meghan is and what she might be trying to achieve by "reaching out" to her.

Possibly. In fact, when I first saw that Meghan and Malala were out together my first thought was "Birmingham", and second thought was that Meghan's trying to do some "humanitarian" stuff for her branding. Meghan is nothing to do with Invictus so she shouldn't be doing anything for it.

Perhaps they should have met for afternoon tea somewhere in Birmingham, but that wouldn't be glamorous enough for Meghan or gain her the media coverage she was aiming for.

A notable contribution surely.

Yes let’s go Claridges where the rich and famous go so often there’s always at least one photographer outside ….. oh and don’t use the pesky side door either!
Also is Hazza telling porkies about his ‘depression’ in Canada which he has NEVER mentioned before not even in his ‘truthful’ Spare where everything else has been included in minute detail!
Beggars belief!!
