Still interested, still not bored….a small request please 🙏…can we try to keep criticism to actions and behaviour and rather than getting personal.😁

Malala lives in the UK (the Invictus city of Birmingham, in fact) and studied politics, philosophy and economics at Oxford. She's an advocate for social issues, in the kind of way Harry and Meghan wish to be. She has an organisation that funds and promotes her work with education. She probably has all sorts of people trying to get her attention and get her to collaborate with them and so must be used to assessing people and their motives. I find it hard to believe that she's unaware of who Meghan is and what she might be trying to achieve by "reaching out" to her.

Let's hope so.

Mylovelygreendress · 09/10/2026 08:58

Has anyone anywhere said Meghan’s outfit is lovely ?
Also , the 10 day thing ; that’s still a long time to be away from your DC if you don’t have to .

spreadandsprinkles · 09/10/2026 09:03

Re the 10 day rule. Had he stayed in the army like he wanted too surely he would have been away more than 10 days, like other military people? Although I guess MM wouldn't have married him as being in the army would have scuppered her plans for living in the US

I'm sure there was a golden bed on poles with lots of burly men to carry it once she got inside. À la Cleopatra .

They just look so sharp & painful😂entirely unsuitable with the pants. I wonder if she has a stylist now or has she gone rogue? She has had some fabulous fashion moments but this is not one of them.
It was an easy brief as well, afternoon tea in a fancy hotel, a nice cosy jumper dress in autumnal or jewel colours & boots would have been gorgeous & appropriate.
Her outfit reminded me of something Geri Halliwell would wear

LookOutLookOutTomCruiseIsAbout · 09/10/2026 09:06

I imagine the 10 day rule is also a dig at George being at boarding school. There was lots of nice coverage on his first day I remember.

i can imagine the conversation:
M: how long will it be until he sees them?
H: probably around 3 weeks
M: put that we never go more than 10 days apart

notimagain · 09/10/2026 09:06

True, but in some professions/lines of work it's unavoidable...(for example see a previous poster's comment about the Army).

Being away for >10 days doesn't automatically make you a crap parent.

Being at home for <= 10 days doesn't automatically make you a good parent.

Basically in this case it looks like we have an almost unemployed/almost unemployable "Prince of England" trying to make himself sound virtuous because most days he's sat home juggling his balls to pass the time....errr....

JSMill · 09/10/2026 09:06

Omg her outfit is astoundingly awful. WTAF? Plus her body language. She’s pulling Malala towards her and she’s clearly not coming with it. She’s nuts.

Is he a stay at home dad , private citizen or public figure? What exactly is he trying to portray himself as... does he pay any tax on anything?

NellyOlsenn · 09/10/2026 09:23

Well looks like this is the October Public Engagement Schedule complete as it’s half term next week for 2 weeks and suspect they will be dashing off to sunny Cali….wonder if she will return to UK after? Or stay back for mid terms, Thanksgiving etc

Puzzledandpissedoff · 09/10/2026 09:24

Starryfifty · 08/10/2026 22:43

Hope he's not going to encourage drug use on his masterclass

Well he did with the sickening Gabor Mate, Starryfifty, so why not this?

I see that he's charging for this farce too, and wonder what happened to "showing up and doing good" Hmm

UncleColm · 09/10/2026 09:26

Harry has been involved with a number of mental health charities over the years...the one with W & C was called Heads Together or something like that. And he has received, by his own admission, a lot of therapy over the years....and yet he says that 'he slipped into a depression for two weeks'. This shows real ignorance around what depression is.

I do believe him though when he says he was useless around the house..

Is it possible that M wore that ridiculous outfit just to make herself a talking point? There's no such thing as bad publicity?

I thinks she's definitely imitating Geri Halliwell. She's always imitating someone.

Starryfifty · 09/10/2026 09:35

The Diana grief is all H has left and he'll jump on the bandwagon when KC passes away. Will he be "Global Orphan"?

pilates · 09/10/2026 09:41

That has to be the most hideous outfit I’ve seen in a long time. What was she thinking?

fuschiaproudparrot · 09/10/2026 09:42

I don't understand how this woman can look in a mirror and think Yup I look great . Cream and white ? She's had trouble before with trying to match monotones and still doesn't seem to have worked it out. So much money and yet still looks so bad ?

Next it will be the British Spice Girl dress 😉

The British public really value family

I'm still working my way through the earlier thread (you people are rabid posters and you do a lot of it while I'm at work!!). But I just wanted to say, on the above quote, that Americans also really value family and the way HaM have trashed both their families has not gone down well with many Americans either.

I remember having a really interesting conversation with an American woman in Santa Barbara (of all places - adjacent to Montecito Wink). She heard my British accent and asked what I thought of what HaM had done and said, etc, and when I said that a lot of Brits were appalled by how the pair of them had treated the RF and the late Queen (who was still alive at that time) she jumped in with wholehearted agreement and said everyone she knows felt the same way i.e. leave if you want, go and live in the US if you want, but don't trash your family.

Harry's headlining in the DM this evening waffling yet again about the grief of losing his mother and some sort of 10 day rule he has with Markle and the children. I refuse to click on it.

Edited

This is the point where all the Harry fans would be pointing out how lovely that is for him but in the real world it's not always like that for ordinary people. No ? Oh wait that would be if it was William.

DancingFerret · 09/10/2026 09:54

We shouldn't compare, but I look at this photo and all I see is a dead ringer for the Disney version of Cruella De Vil.

(Add to that Markle looks completely deranged here.)

Starryfifty · 09/10/2026 10:00

I guess H has no other option but to milk his grief and dead mother? He has no interest in educating himself/ pursuing a meaningful career and is absolutely determined to stay in the public eye.

OrangeBlossomsinthesun · 09/10/2026 10:00

She has a really remarkable talent to look terrible, remarkable with all the money she has and the fact that she has a lovely figure. She could look amazing in the right clothes but seems to have no idea what actually suits her. She looks totally ridiculous in that. She's so brittle about everything, why can't she see this? You would think she would be obsessed with making sure she always looked amazing. Which means she must think she does? Baffling.

TangledUpDown · 09/10/2026 06:00

Good for Harry that he can just choose to say "nah, I'm not going to be gone for longer than ten days" 🙄

Does he not even think about the military?

The thing is she has always dressed badly on most occasions even before Harry.

BunnyBunbunbun · 09/10/2026 10:14

Without wishing to derail, last night I watched Mariska Hargitay's documentary "My Mom Jayne", about her mother Jayne Mansfield, who died in a car crash when Mariska was three (Mariska and her brothers were in the car). It's a really beautiful, moving, raw, honest and incredibly well-made film. There are parallels with Harry (and William), but I was most suprised by how much Mariska has been able to hold herself together with all the messes she's had to deal with in her life as well as the mixed feelings she had as a younger woman towards her mother - whom she has almost no memories of - and how she embarked on a journey to understand her mother.

I kept thinking as I was watching that Mariska must have had some amazing therapy to have dealt with the things she's had to deal with. I looked it up and she has massively educated herself on the subject.

She has said:

"On a personal note, I've also gone through my own journey of learning how to respond to the various traumas that I've experienced in my life. I lost my mother when I was three years old and I grew up in a house of people dealing with the tragedy in their own way. And because there was so much grief, there wasn't room to prioritize anyone," Hargitay told the audience.

"We didn't have the tools that we have now to metabolize and understand trauma, understand all the levels, understand that it goes in on the cellular level," she explained. "So it wasn't until much later in my life when I was able to do that for myself."

https://people.com/mariska-hargitay-shares-how-therapy-gave-me-my-life-back-after-trauma-8744662

I can't imagine Harry being able to talk about grief and trauma in such a way, yet he's projecting himself as a grief counsellor.
