Just posting as Chelsy was in the Royal Family folds for many years.
What a beautiful family & life she has. Very happy for her. Her life looks so idyllic, what a handsome husband too!

So do you feel it is ok for Meghan to cut the Markles off for selling stories to the press but the royal family should reconcile with Harry & Meghan after they did the exact same thing as the Markles, selling stories for money?!

I think Chelsy outgrew Harry. He (and the mad situation) was probably good fun when she was young. But she's intelligent and mature, and it must've been very difficult to be in his company, what with him being both an idiot and emotionally immature. Any intelligent woman would struggle with that.

Yes I agree, he did speak very warmly about Chelsy in Spare, he obviously loved her very much & she never sold any stories or spoke derogatoily about Harry.
She was actually one of the highlights in Spare & one of the only people Harry spoke positively about.
Chelsy attended his wedding so they must have remained on good terms which is nice.

And yes you're right it must have been great fun in her teens & 20s living in Europe, getting her law degree, living in Istabul & dating a prince!

Definitely wise & in fairness Harry only had lovely things to say about both Chelsy & her family in Spare so there is probably a mutual respect between them which is good to see.

What I don’t understand is why did Harry never meet Thomas Markle ?
He and Meghan were going out together before he sold stories to the press.
The wedding suit photo fiasco was after they got engaged.
Surely there was a period of time between them meeting and dating and their engagement that H&M could have scheduled in a meeting with Thomas.
To me it is basic manners to introduce your intended life partner to your Dad who had brought you up and you had gushed over on social media - The Tig- so there didn’t appear to have been a problem in the daughter dad relationship

Banjas, reading between the lines, Meghan was likely ashamed of her father and only truly came to grasp that when things got real with Harry. Their relationship for her entire adult life was likely quite limited to a few visits per year and phone calls. Facing the reality of introducing him the the Royal family on a world stage must have been painful and scary.

Having seen how Markle has behaved since, I will not further shame Meghan for not rushing to introduce them. He has behaved shockingly toward his daughter. Of course that should not negate the good things he also did prior, but he has truly justified the estrangement with his many interviews.

@banjas I agree with Overt Gardeners comment that Meghan probably was embarrassed by her dad & he would have been centre stage. I think his relationship with Doria is ok so he could have sat with her.
It was awful of the Markles to sell their stories but all sympathy ran dry when Harry & Meghan did the same by selling countless stories about the royals on a variety of platforms.
Harry & Meghan had only been going out 18 months before the wedding & I feel they should have met too... I wouldn't have worried about Samantha or Thomas Jnr though!

What Markle has done to his daughter via endless interviews is infinitely worse than anything Meghan has said. It’s his actual child, not an in-law he barely knows.

I won’t excuse Meghan’s behavior toward the Royal Family but it appears she learned from the master. Markle has been absolutely wretched and his faux victim narrative is pitiful.

I am more than a bit sorry I fell into the trap of discussing others when the topic is Chelsy Davy.

I'm agreeing with you that Chelsy has had an inspirational life. I'm not here for a bun fight .. however it hasn't gone unnoticed that you were taunting me on thread 48 re "monotonising" & a few mumsnetters messaged me to say your had posted childish gifs aimed at me also

However I am rising above it & will continue to engage diplomatically with everyone on also!

Rather doubtful about all of that.

But there it is. Childish. I was expecting that specific word.

Thinking about it, if what you say is true, I am rather pleased to hear that multiple posters are PMing about me even if they are off the mark.

Doubt all you want but your nasty, childish carry on & your gifs targeting me was uncalled for & as I said had not got unnoticed by others.

I have avoided this thread …however I find it very hard to believe that 1 after posting non stop on my thread that you needed pms to inform you of giffs you saw with your own eyes !

GIFs are a staple of this forum and particularly of the PR threads. You can read back through the prior 47 threads from before you began posting here and see that plainly.

You said that posters are messaging you about me. That was a childish and unkind thing to say even if true, which again I greatly doubt.
