This is a great explanation. These people regard love, admiration, attention and respect as finite resources that are owed to them so if you attract admiration, respect etc, they regard that as stealing it from them and reach in a completely opposite over the top way.

Even another person speaking can attract Meghan’s ire. Or her need to one up with Serena Williams on her podcast. It’s a terribly exhausting way for them both to live.

Ok Serena might have held the world no.1 for 320 weeks and an Olympic gold simultaneously among other world beating achievements but who, tell me, who, is a Duchess, hmm?

Exactly. 🦢👑

I see the creative director at Balenciaga has been markled and off to pastures new.
Johnny Anderson has better not pick up the phone to Madame if she offers to attend his show in Dublin.

She will try to use her relationship with Claire Waight Keller to squeeze an invite out of him

Please. Can we end the Latin now 🙏🏼

"To everyone I met, thank you for being so loving to my friend"
Does everyone in MM's circle feed this obsession of being perceived as "being loved"?

Well if they don't feed her obsession they'll no doubt be cast aside, @IceBrownie, but for me it's like those who flood their SM with endless posts about their "great love story" and you start to wonder who they're trying to convince

Naturally there's no evidence of people being "welcoming and loving" to Meghan any more than there was of folk dancing in the streets a la Mandela when they married, so I guess she has to use others to manufacture the image of someone - anyone - being impressed

How sad

Yes, they can't bear for anyone else to get any praise and try to deflect it onto themselves. When my eldest got her A-level results, the first words out of their mouth was that their dc (15 years younger, so a long way to go) was going to do better.
As I pointed out to dh who was eye rolling, it didn't say much for their intelligence that they hadn't worked out that A* was the best anyone could do. 😂<that was a jolly good stealth boast, I realise!>

The choice of words is nauseating. Even if their new neighbours have been friendly (and some may have been, who knows) they won’t have been loving.
Exaggerated, schmaltzy shite. As ever.

I agree the performative “love” is always a cover ….I still remember the magazine article put out by Richard gere and Cindy Crawford….divorced minutes later!!
you can tell my marriage is secure by the amount of criticism of my husband I like to share!! 😁

I can't make any promises. Very much depends on what HaM do next. It's impossible to know.

To narcissists nothing has intrinsic value - simply loving or caring isn’t enough - it has to be performed and publicised to have any validity. Everything is superficial.

Private gestures or feelings are of no use or interest to them - these things must be able to be demonstrated flamboyantly to have any value.

Well, she does sell matches. They could sell those along with the book. Or might that give the wrong idea?

Could there be a Collab between Meghan's matches and Piers Morgan's hopes of having all the first edition of Swan Song destroyed?!

Mark Ruffalo said something wonderful on The Graham Norton Show. “If you are not constantly shouting at your children, you are not spending enough time with them.” 😂

Here is the video of Charles doing his first parachute jump. The best bit is at the end, he immediately changed into a double breasted gold buttoned blazer, while his hair is still visibly damp. Real James Bond vibes!! 😁

AI overview explains he subsequently did the full training.

AI Overview:

King Charles III completed his first parachute jump on July 29, 1971, famously landing upside down in the sea before being rescued. 1]
The 1971 Jump
The Location: Studland Bay, Dorset.
The Incident: Charles was 23 years old and training as a jet pilot with the Royal Air Force. During the jump from an Andover aircraft, his legs got caught in the rigging lines, leaving him hanging upside down.
The Rescue: He splashed into the cold water and was quickly hauled out by the Royal Marines. 1]
Earning His Wings
Colonel-in-Chief: He was appointed Colonel-in-Chief of The Parachute Regiment on June 11, 1977.
Full Training: Feeling he could not fairly wear the maroon beret and Para Wings without doing the proper training, he completed Parachute Course 841a at RAF Brize Norton in 1978

I came to say this.

I know one of the marines that fished him out. He speaks very highly of Charles.

😱

Warmhandscoldheart · 26/09/2026 13:02

I've just read an article online which states both Archie and Lilibet could potentially have to ask Prince William's consent to marry.

When he becomes king, (a few years yet hopefully) according to the Crown Act of 2013 if they're still 5th & 6th in the LoS, they will have to ask for his formal consent to marry.

The Hams will go nuts if that ever needs to happen.

Baldrick I've got it! They are going to renew their vows!!

N O !!!!

Are they going to do it 'privately' in their back garden with The Archbishop of Canterbury or are they going to do it more publicly? Are we going to get another sermon on the meaning of LOVE from the Rev Michael Currie? And another rendition of 'Stand by me'?

Will A&L (faces obscured, off course) be ring bearer and flower girl?

Seriously, if they did renew their vows, I can see them doing it in the little church next to the Althorp estate, so he can be close to his mother and get her blessing etc etc

I think it’s probably the only way to stay in Meghan’s proximity, they have to be prepared to publicly do the sycophant mantra, the excessive compliments, the flattery etc.

That's what narcissists are like - they require adoration or they cut you off. See also Trump, DJ, the uber narcissist.

When DD learned to walk my BIL responded with ‘yeah my kids can do that’ they were both teenagers.
I think I am interested in HAM as so many behaviours are recognisable.
Him and his wife have also been horrid to us for decades but seem to think we should adore them and organise our lives around them. Nope.
