Can Ham break into Codswolds high society? I think they won't as the elite country folk will close ranks.. Will be funny to see them try!

Well because it's funny watching them try fit back into Uk life after everything they have said & done. Who doesn't love a comedy roadshow!

Can you explain why it’s funny? Are you always amused to watch a dysfunctional unhappy family being dysfunctional and unhappy? And I include all of them in that. From the King down.

Yes I think it's hilarious to see Ham back in the UK trying to fit back in after selling stories about the Royal Family for millions & now they want to be welcomed back into elite circles.
The circles they want to mingle with will close ranks in case Ham start spreading rumours & selling stories about them like they did their own family.
And yes it is hilarious to watch, especially as Harry said last year he would never raise his family in the Uk..
But here they are... Just in time for the release of his uncle Earl Spencers book.. what a conincidence!

The malicious joy in your posts OP don't cover you in glory. I actually pity you.

Well, that's YOU told by a total stranger on the internet, OP. Be suitably ashamed of yourself and as the saying goes, DO BETTER.

There have been lots of books, films and series where American and other international wives are trying to break into society so it’s natural to be curious.

I loved the book buccaneers and liked the original series, the new one was awful, and I’ve read various where American heiress’s and their money kept estates going.

They’ll need their own ‘Pile’ pronto, I’m having fun on right move

It's not malicious, it's enjoying seeing a couple who have behaved atrociously get the comeuppance they deserve!
They said they would never live here again yet here they are! Delighted it's all going so badly wrong for them!

Schadenfreude then.

This salty little island must not be too bad after all!
Seeing Ham grovelling & trying to soft launch themselves into British high society is the most comical thing ever! The public will never forget!

Op, you don't speak for me and I definitely will forget because its just not that important to me

It's almost like a cult on the RF threads always the same posters revelling in their taking down of others who are complete strangers to them. It's baffling.

ThatBoilsMyBagels · 22/09/2026 19:26

Oh dear. Read a book.

Codswolds 😂

KCitsweyourHammiewevecomehomenow · 22/09/2026 19:36

Ham did drop these people in favour of the people she thought they should be mixing with like the Clooney’s, so now that the Clooneys are no where to be found they are trying to rebuild networks with the people they previously dumped.

It looks like the only person happy to spend time with them is Ellen, who’s not exactly set Cotswolds society on fire. That odious little man Giles Coren finally managed to offload his Cotswolds house and he spent a weekend with them at a Soho launch

it will be interesting to watch.

EmpressaurusKitty · 22/09/2026 19:41

I came to this thread for the fish puns and there are hardly any. ☹️

Dabralor · 22/09/2026 19:56

Well it clearly depends what ham it is.
Tescos wafer thin honey roast value pack? No.
Marks and Spencer’s thick-cut treacle coated vintage breed?
Maybe, but not if paired with picky bits - that’s common.

Perhaps Ocado a happy medium? With a fine cheese to offset?

KCitsweyourHammiewevecomehomenow · 22/09/2026 20:06

It’s ham that’s passed its best before date and best avoided as it repeats on you when ingested 🤣

mumumental · 22/09/2026 20:08

PlumCat23 · 20/09/2026 22:49

Why?! They sold stories about the royal family for millions, went on Oprah selling their inaccuracies about the royals for millions while Prince Philip is dying & also expect the British taxpayers to pay their security!
I'm delighted to read that the Codswolds folk will close rank to keep Ham frozen out. The elite protect their privacy & won't want anyone selling stories about them!

Maybe. Who knows. You don’t have to be as bad, though.

tarheelbaby · 22/09/2026 20:11

This notion of breaking into the local scene is very MC. I hope Harry's long-time friends welcome them cordially.

TBH, I think HaM don't need to 'launch themselves into society' any more than W&C needed to 'break into' the so-called turnip toffs' set when they were living at Anmer Hall full time a few years ago. Harry's friends who live locally, and further afield, the friends whom Harry's been texting all these years whilst in CA, will invite H&M and vice versa.

I'm more curious to know what reception friends he and William know mutually and family will give them. Will Zara be inviting him to Gatcombe? Will Peter be inviting him to kitchen sups to meet Harriet? What about the van Straubenzees - that's got to be awkward since some of them are godfather to William's children and some are godfather to Harry's ...

Since H&M have 'done a Crawfie' so many times, I imagine most people will be avoiding them simply b/c the rich and famous crave their privacy.

Why would Harry's old friends welcome them cordially? They may sell stories about them!

Of course Peter & Zara won't be inviting them anywhere. Sure Harry couldn't even wrangle an invite to Peter's wedding last month, how embarrassing! I wouldn't blame Peter, Ham could have been taking notes & photos to sell to the press!

@PlumCat23 , in general, I have to agree: most of them are rightly paranoid about their privacy but I hope Harry still has one or two friends who keep in contact.
I imagine the other slebs in the area (wherever that actually is) are too busy promoting their own projects to spend any time on Meghan.

Honestly????

What sad little lives. I really hope you guys find more fruitful things to do than wondering if someone will break into high society 😂😂

Well when these same people expect the taxpayers to fund their mammoth security bill then we are free to judge!
And it is so enjoyable to watch Ham try & fail miserably to break into the high society of this salty little island 😁
