Do you believe Charles Spencer that Charles Windsor said to him during a phone call "we'll forget her soon enough."

Harry has proven himself to be a bit of a flibbertygibbet and does not have tact or diplomacy.

His wife has made vague allegations which, if made against any diplomats, royalty or heads of state have the potential to cause an international incident.

Harry cannot keep his hands off Fred, Joe and Maggie - tweaking this, goosing that. I don’t know how his wife behaves with others these days but she has been known to drape herself on old men’s laps.

It just would be a disaster waiting to happen.

I am amazed at the comment to just ignore what your children want in terms of your new partner.

Well he was right to marry Camilla. They make an excellent couple and Camilla knows that being Queen is not all about her, but about the people she is meeting and the causes she is highlighting. As for his sons begging him not to marry her, sometimes you have to ignore what your children say as they are not always right and say things in the heat of the moment. Charles did what was right for him and the boys and Camilla got along fine until Harry had his brain fart

Charles marrying Camilla when Harry asked him not to = evil
William suggesting Harry slow down a bit before marrying Meghan = evil
Topsy turvey world, innit 🤷‍♀️

Maybe they should be working royals what's wrong with half in and half out?

You get Andrew and Sarah Ferguson

I think by far the worst thing KC has done to H is endlessly indulging and making excuses for his appalling behaviour. Sadly, lack of normal boundaries has resulted in a 42 year old who is incredibly entitled and seemingly incapable of behaving in a responsible way

That's an interesting perspective.
I would venture that KC hasn't actually done that much in the trenches parenting ,getting through tough times together on your own.
I don't expect he's put himself through much and harry and William were at boarding schools and had nanny's.

I wonder how many hours being there in the room Charles has notched up compared to a normal family.
Even before Diana's death we know that being ferried backwards and forward was deeply damaging to the boys / embarrassing interviews and books ! Whilst at school !
Then the worst tragedy befell them ..

Harry made his feelings about the King’s marriage to Camilla clear.

I can’t speak for the late Queen.

William ana harry are brothers.
You do understand a child parent relationship is different to a siblings relationship?
And harry was only 19 when he and William asked Charles not to marry Camilla. He could have waited a few years until they were more grown up.

That's simply not true.
Most children are very loyal to their mother and maybe William has healed ,maybe Harry is healing but to to do your mum what they did to Diana !

Did anyone read the account by lady Annabel goldsmith re her party ? She said it was known when charles and Camilla were going to an event Diana shouldn't go.
This time Diana accepted the invite and saw the two CCS together.
She spoke to Camila who said ...what do you want everyone is in love with you /your the world's darling and she said " i just want my husband. ". ( Not verbatim ).

So sad and all the comments about how she walked into her wedding /church and saw camilla.

It's very very sad.

Annabel was a good friend of Diana, as was her daughter, Jemima Khan. The latter developing a friendship because of her then husband, Imran Khan, and Diana's boyfriend, Hasnat Khan were both Muslim Pakistani. They spent time in Lahore together.
So Annabel is not exactly a neutral source.

The contrast between William and Harry is stark.

Not unusual between brothers. Think Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his younger brother Edward (Duke of Edinburgh), for example.

damnatiomemoriae · 20/09/2026 16:50

He would still be waiting to marry Camilla if he was waiting for Harry to grow up.

I am not sure how the two situations are comparable ?
Camila is a step mum to two boys who didn't want her to marry their dad with a long ,long history of nasty episodes that tore their mum apart
What had meghan done ?

Meghan was brown and an American.

So you're saying William, advising his brother not to rush into a relationship....was being racist?

Right. Isn't 19 an adult?

Do you have children? I have three and I love them all dearly but sometimes they chat shit, even as adults, and they don’t always know what’s good for me or for themselves in the long run. So yes, sometimes you have to ignore your children because you know better what is right for all of you

I have no idea who I believe. However, I do find the Mumsnet “the King is wonderful and can have done nothing wrong” line a little hard to take.

Edited

No one has said that the king is wonderful, Ffs.

Meghan is not brown, she is a mixed-race African American.

Cathandkin · 20/09/2026 16:54

Right. Isn't 19 an adult?

Only just. I would have waited a few years before marriage. Especially since they lost their mother in traumatic circumstances and their father wants to marry the woman he was having an affair with.

Unlike some I am not saying they should never have married. But a bit more sensitivity would have been best.

Right. Isn't 19 an adult?

Theoretically, but considering Haz is currently 42 and still not capable of always behaving like an adult then he was barely a toddler at 19!

Mixed race is a hideously old fashioned term.
Trust me the modern tems are brown and black in the UK.

At least a few years, more.
You would be heavily criticised for using that term in many professional circles

Sorry I thought your point was that Charles had married Camilla “inspite of both boys begging him to not”, and that that in itself was wrong, he should not have gone against his sons’ wishes. You didn’t mention it being to do with the “long , long history of nasty episodes”, ie the reason he shouldn’t have married her was because of what had happened previously. They’re two quite different reasons not to marry and you only mentioned the first I think, in the post I responded to.
Anyway, I thought it an interesting contrast - Harry’s fury at William interfering in his relationship vs Harry’s fury at not being allowed to interfere in his father’s relationship.
