Do you believe Charles Spencer that Charles Windsor said to him during a phone call "we'll forget her soon enough."

@AnnoyedAsAllHeck

Those who claim to have legal knowledge are always very, very interesting to those who actually do.

Edited

Seriously this is nasty and a personal attack.
I am a paralegal. But go on tell me what great legal knowledge you have?

I said the kings statement said Charles Spencer was crazy with grief.

He didn’t though.

You are the one who said the word ‘crazy’. The King didn’t say ‘crazy’ at all.

Own it maybe?

Where did I mention you ?

Show me that.

Attention to detail is important.

ANNotherWriter · 20/09/2026 15:30

So the initial strategy was to claim he was crazy with grief

You did write that. @14.22

The word crazy was not in the Royal response.
It's your own words - as I said, your emotional slant to try to defend CS.

I explained the meaning of the kings statement to a poster who seemed to not understand it. Explaining means you don't simply repeat the words used.

No.

You ought to know that substituting one word (s) for another that is more emotionally loaded is 'leading' the audience. Or in this case the 'jury'.

You ought to know that being absolutely precise is important.

There is nothing in the King's statement that gets anywhere near 'crazy' and if that's the best alternative word you can find it's way off the mark.

damnatiomemoriae · 20/09/2026 15:34

But the words the King used didn’t infer to anyone being crazy with grief.

You used the word crazy when the King’s words said nothing of the sort.

You can explain it however you like but it isn’t fair to try and put those words in someone else’s mouth.

Again. Attention to detail is important.

And of course it was CS who introduced Diana to Martin Bashir, the man who - in the pursuit of a good interview- fabricated evidence and fake letters to manipulate Diana's already fragile mental health. The paranoia that Bashir deliberately encouraged was the main reason Diana refused official security and ended up in the car of a speeding drunk driver.

I would have thought that would cause CS a hell of a lot of personal guilt, but it doesn't seem to have done. Which is another indication of his character IMO.

Yep--Chucky introduced Bashir to Diana in '95. So that makes Charles Spencer at least indirectly responsible for Diana refusing to have palace security, which means Chucky has a hand in the August 31st disaster. Of course, then he tries to claim he was tricked by Bashir. Hhhmmm, right. I wonder if Bashir paid Chucky for the introduction. I doubt CS did it for free. Perhaps it was seven pieces of silver.

Are you saying that Charles Spencer knew Bashir would give Diana forged documents ?

damnatiomemoriae · 20/09/2026 15:38

Where did it say that?

CoffeeCantata · 20/09/2026 15:38

AnnoyedAsAllHeck · 20/09/2026 15:27

He called her a manipulator, returned a letter she sent him back unopened and was mostly estranged from her for the last 15 years of her life (his words).

He was a lousy brother, until it behooved him financially to GAFF about her. Sadly, that was after her death.

Perfect summary!

How he has the brass neck to criticise anyone else is baffling.

Just to be clear, I’m not absolving KC totally - unlike OP I don’t live by faith and like to have hard evidence and none of us on here knows the truth - I just know a lot about Spencer and he’s a truly horrible man.

But given the choice of who is the better human being (flaws acknowledged) I’d choose KC every time.

That could be his new name! Fits him well.

CoffeeCantata · 20/09/2026 15:42

I wish someone would write an expose of Charles Spencer!

He can certainly dish it out but can he take it?

diddl · 20/09/2026 15:42

I wonder why CS thought it advisable that Diana should do that interview?

Eta maybe he did advise against it?

It's a good question. He didn't have a good relationship with Diana, so what was in it for him?

I don’t know, but if he pushed her to do it, that would be consistent with his behaviour since then.

OneLilacHedgehog · 20/09/2026 15:08

Charles the king did not say I didn't say that. What he actually said was Charles Spencer was so crazy with grief his memory and reasoning are affected.

You could claim that was true, although I think it's just a palace variation of They're crazy. But it still doesn't mean the king didn't say what is being alleged.

I believe the king did say those things. If he hasn't he would simply have said with every respect at no point did I say what is being alleged by Charles Spencer.

What he actually said was Charles Spencer was so crazy with grief his memory and reasoning are affected.

See, THAT is not true. YOU are the only one who has used the word crazy. YOU are changing the words to fit YOUR agenda. So, anything you say cannot be trusted.

That is a VERY scary thought when people's lives depend on accuracy and preciseness.

Money, power, prestige, bragging rights, control over Diana. It could be many things, all things or nothing. But I seriously doubt the third possibbility.

CS is one of those smarmy rich men who don't do anything just to be nice. Always an agenda. Always a cost.

You miss out Charlie's as a dad and putting his son's first .
He also seems intrinsically naval gazing and feels sorry for himself.

Anyway ...it's going to get worse and i think Charles has made himself look stupid by saying it wasn't true.

Excellent, thank you - have added “IntrinsicallyNavalGazing” to my new collection of usernames, along with ButeNonagenarianMadeMeGasp and LetsNotForgetQueenMary 👏👏
Love that image of KC3 wistfully gazing out at the RN.

PurpleBadgers · 20/09/2026 15:58

Maybe in the heat of the moment. We ALL say deeply stupid things at times. I don’t think he would have sounded gleeful though like is also claimed.
Whatever happened, let her rest in peace. He’s only making these claims after all this time to make money which is pretty disgusting as well
