Do you believe Charles Spencer that Charles Windsor said to him during a phone call "we'll forget her soon enough."

Harry wrote about a lot of things in his book. One example. He wrote that he never went on a bicycle as a child, to which the Internet was inundated with photos of Harry with his family riding bicycles.

Harry is also on the record saying that the his memory of events and his emotions around them are as true as the actual facts.

Just because Harry wrote about something doesn't make it true.

To be fair to him we are all unreliable narrators of our own lives to some extent. It's just that there is actual proof of his misremembering whereas the rest of us get away with it.

But then I could say: we don't know anythin about the Royal Family except what we have been told about them through interviews, books and documentaries.

None of us know them personally. So we discuss the books, interviews and documentaries

It never ceases to amaze me just how invested a lot of you are about the RF and how people can waste SO much time conjecturing about something they will never ever know the truth about.

I don’t give a fuck. Try it sometime, you might find it refreshing Smile

We grew up with this particular saga.

Charles affair
Dianas affair
Diana's death
How william and Harry evolved. People are still invested as it's like watching a soap opera. Let's see what could happen next

I grew up with it too

i still don’t give a fuck because I understand everything we all hear will be, to a large extent, limited in its truth, from all angles.

I solve this by getting on with other things in my life.

I don't entirely disagree with what you're saying, but as soon as you post you admit you've got enough of an interest to be enticed in, read and respond, and it really does blow the whole "but I am so above it" stuff out of the water. Talking about how eternally amazed you are (you must amaze easily) and stuff about your weary head just sounds pompous to boot.

Either enjoy it (as you clearly do, both the story itself and the gossip that amazes you) by silently lurking and not revealing yourself, or just get stuck in with the gossip yourself and embrace it. This weary head amazement is the worst of both worlds.

I spend a fair bit of time on MN in general thanks.

Thought I’d dip into this load of old bollocks for a change, and post my opinion. That alright with you?

No, it's not all right actually. You have no right to be yelling at people on the internet, telling them what they should and shouldn't be doing. And if it's old bollocks, no-one is asking you post on the thread.

Hope that helps hun.

ThatCyanCat · 19/09/2026 21:37

As a small aside, this kind of thing gets you booted off Tattle and while a lot of people don't like it, it makes sense to me. It's a forum/board/thread dedicated to X; if you're only going to come on to complain that you don't understand why people are discussing X and they're somehow inferior to you for discussing X and you have no interest in discussing X, then what's the benefit to anyone by having you there?

I posted here, because, as I said, it never ceases to amaze how much people are invested in this, when they essentially will never know the truth, and neither will I,

Its completely reasonable to point that out as it’s basically the truth, however hard that may be for all to hear.

Anyway. Off to more interesting things now.
Have fun pointlessly conjecturing!

FunPartyIdeas · 19/09/2026 21:42

Seems rather a coincidence that this is all coming out around the same time as H and M return to the UK?
And seems strange why they have returned at all?

PrettyLittleRose · 19/09/2026 21:42

Ta ra then @Lonelycrab . Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

diddl · 19/09/2026 21:46

So headline in the DM.

Charles Spencer saying her is being gaslit by the King!

And that Diana would be cheering him from the rafters.

Well of course 30 yrs on she would hopefully be happy, settled & not want it all raking up

classydesktop · 19/09/2026 19:00

No, I don’t. It would be an exceptionally cruel thing to say about the mother of his children…and to the man who was her brother. KC is many things but I can’t see him being deliberately cruel.

I think Charles Spencer misheard or there’s more context he’s not sharing.

Absolutely.

I think it's more amazing that you're perpetually amazed that people have an interest in the royal family. It doesn't seem like a difficult concept to me. Yet more amazing that someone with no interest in it should show interest in it. How long have you been amazed that people find it interesting? You're clearly very easy to amaze.

So you forget about the drunk driver and Diana not wearing a seat belt?

No, I haven't forgotten about any of it. I'm not going to argue on the internet with someone who doesn't know what "having a hand in" means.
