Inappropriate photo op for William and catherine

This was at an event this week. But the photo just made me gasp. It looks like the elderly woman is being used as a prop, rather than being treated in a dignified way.

Surely not - it can’t be - is the OP really PC Plum? 👮‍♂️

I love the thought that they just have an entourage of identically dressed old ladies to take photos with. Just in case one takes a bad shot she can be immediately replaced with a doppelganger!

I'd say that encounter made that ladies day!

On another note, is it just me or does it usually appear that Williams' smile is like a rictus grin and it never seems to meet his eyes somehow.

The second old lady is the emergency spare the royals carry around with them exactly for this type of situation. Everyone always wondered what the Queen had in her handbag. Now we know.

I’d guess that maybe a squaddie clarion call has gone out to stop William being the next king by, erm, posting photos of older ladies on Mumsnet with unpleasant comments alongside - but surely no actual group of humans has ever been that idiotic?? I mean, that’s pond life levels of stupidity.

I'm not crazy about having my photo taken (don't know how the royal lot put up with it) but at least with modern smartphones you can delete the off ones. Utterly gutting back in the day to wait patiently to get your film back from Boots only to find you were caught for posterity with resting bitch face.
