If there's heaps of coverage, then of course there are takers, otherwise at some point the coverage would peter out.

It's interesting that people who are into the royal family and discussing Harry and Meghan and various newspaper stories about them have no interest in Diana.

Burrell and the BBC are not quite the same as Diana's own son. Harry was annoyed then too. Perhaps William might be a bit miffed - hypothetically speaking, if Harry were hypothetically making a documentary about Diana - but I can't see him being "incandescent".

I can see W being incandescent if H uses clips from the Martin Bashir documentary or other private photos/clips that not previously been released. W wants his Mum to rest in peace not to be used again and again to make ££££.

Lol, there isn't even a documentary yet (it's still just one of the infinite stories that the media like to run with - except they knew nothing about the real story of Harry and Meghan's return) and now Harry is putting Martin Bashir in it!

Considering Harry also condemned Martin Bashir, if he were to include anything about Bashir then it would doubtless be highly critical of him. Perhaps William might be ok with Harry criticising Bashir.

In any case, this is all very hypothetical because no such documentary is confirmed. It's a bit like Meghan's UK acting role.

I'm catching up and riffing back to the late posts on the last thread referring to The Bench reminded me of the rip off claims although I don't think they went anywhere much like the tome itself.

I do have to say though that I enjoyed seeing the mountain of unsold copies repurposed to support and ease lap-top viewing.

Time moves on. Diana is firmly in the past. People may know of her - was married to Charles. They got divorced . There was a great deal of animosity . Diana died . Charles married Camilla . It's been a long long time. It was a shock at the time but nowadays - who really cares? People are so preoccupied with their own lives.

Her hay day was 50 years ago. She’s not topical or current. She’s an historical figure. It would be like expecting the general public who were following the RF in the 1980s in the tabloids to be interested in a royal figure from the 1930s who had been dead since the 50s. It’s two totally different dynamics - one current day to day RL changing soap opera gossip in contemporary society and the other a historical review of someone from a very distant time / past and place.

W had said he never wanted the interview to be shown again, and I believe the BBC agreed. H including it in the Netflix documentary was a fundamental breach of trust and I can imagine him doing it again if he makes a documentary about Diana.

That's an awful thing to do.

The Sussex Squad have a whole thing that William is 'silencing' Diana by not wanting the interview to be shown again.
