There is an assumption on this thread that Harry and Meghan want to be royal- adjacent, but I'm m not sure this is completely the case, especially when it comes to Meghan. Of course, reconciling with Charles has proven very useful with them relocating back to the UK.
My impression is that they want their kids to grow up in the aristo/Spencer circle which will probably put their kids in good stead in a class- ridden society like the British one. I am not even sure that regaining popularity among the British public is a great priority, if they are going to be moving in the Spencer- adjacent circles why care?

Yes you are spot on there and they have already achieved those goals - so well done and good luck to them. PH I suspect just wants to build trust with his Dad and a relationship with his children. I suspect neither are bothered about W&K.

Also MM I think has zero intentions of staying or embedded herself in UK society - if she is even here.

Didn't her stationary have a coronet on?
Didn't she get announced by her title?

Yes and Yes, to a nearly empty room.

People suggest we base our views on the media depiction but that was for an interview she agreed to do.

Yes, Harry's was achieved by birth, Meghan's by marriage. The all important status of royalty.

It's all from them. They share so much.

It also showed her lack of understanding of the system, as traditionally the lower ranked is introduced to the higher.

Yes, a bit like taking someone else’s hand to kiss their ring, if you were the Pope.

Was he going through bins?
He is "a fox" after all.

Ouch! but funny:) Tetbury is quite a way from Claksons end. Perhaps H was lost. It has been said he should return here, with the dc and start again, its a shock he has M with him.

Perhapz that is the deal struck. M will return to the US forever, making it look like SHE left H, or she finds a new victim. Someone like M wouldnt cope with being left. She does the leaving, always. H wouldnt care. As long as he is home, with his dc. Methinks a bargain might have been struck. Or is that too cynical?

Doubt K is prioritising H &M over her own mental health, her dc, and her dh. What a silly bit of journalism!

@jeffgoldblum thanks for the pic. Made my day.

Silly journalism - you're not wrong there. Quite a lot of rumour and conjecture. Who knows what the Sussex PR team are putting out, and why?
Perhaps their strategy will become clearer.

damnatiomemoriae · 05/09/2026 23:10

I suspect they do want to be royal adjacent. I suspect they want to be royal more.

If only there was an elderly man’s knee to sit on to request your wildest dreams. I don’t suppose KC would be up for it but perhaps the one she knew before would oblige.

I wouldn’t be advising her to take Zara’s (absolute legend!) Burghley advice though.

You hear some terrible statistics about palpitations and things.

There has been a long line of these anti-William articles like this over the years

They always portray William as "stubborn" and "angry" who won't "allow" 🙄 Kate to reconcile with them

Having seen the looks Kate has given them I don't think Kate has any intention of reconciling with them in the current circumstances - not after the Sussex Squad whipped up the "where's Kate" SM storm, made disgusting allegations about William and killed the Mothers' Day photo when she had cancer. Especially while Harry concern-trolls her children in the same way that he did the Queen.

In my experience women are much more likely to hold a grudge than men. Am I allowed to say this ? Or is it sexist ? Well I know I do and it's my experience that many women do. I'm sure Catherine has no intention of ever getting involved with Meghan and Harry again. They said she was racist and they commented on her children as well as William not really loving her. The look that Catherine gave her on the walk about after the Queen's death must have made Meghan quake in her borrowed shoes. We saw it . She realised who was the boss. I'm sure William feels the same too.
It was perfection - nothing more than a look but M saw it , felt it, Harry did too.

jeffgoldblum · 05/09/2026 23:31

Everything ham does proves without a shadow of a doubt their own obsession with being royal adjacent…..neither has anything else that elevates them above common celebrities….. if they were stripped of the titles tomorrow they would sink without a trace and any legitimacy would disappear. Harry is only famous for being Diana’s son ….the now kings son ……Meghan is famous for being his wife….that is all…..

Why would Catherine be bothered?? She has her children, hubby, very supportive, loving parents and siblings.

damnatiomemoriae · 05/09/2026 23:46

I would agree with that maryw.

I tend to think the grudge would be intensified if the behaviour/accusation/act also impacted on or involved those you love.

If it were me? I wouldn’t piddle on someone who caused me such angst if they were on fire.

I suspect the one who caused the angst would expect such a dousing.

Starryfifty · 05/09/2026 23:51

As a young woman, Catherine battled cancer. Hugely traumatic for her, hubby and family. The fact that this didn't encourage HAM to rein it in and ensure PW and C have peace tells you everything you need to know about them.

Zara is great.

She's just won the British Open Championship 20 years after her last championship win.

MarchionessVonSausage · Yesterday 00:44

Zara also manages to cash in on her royal-adjacent position without upsetting the family. Deals with all sorts of companies. Harry could learn a lot.

Then again she's not titled. Maybe that's the crucial difference.

Btw, I still haven't figured out where Burrell said Diana took coke??

She has something to offer. HAM have absolutely nothing. No talent, no skills, no USP

I had heard about one interview where she was announced by her title, I didn't know it was a 'thing'. I wonder if H (or she) insists that she be addressed in private/by staff as HRH as it was rumoured that the Duke of Windsor insisted on for Wallis. I know that Wallis was denied the honorific and that M & H were simply told not to use it, but still.

I suppose technically she's allowed to use her title and her monogram, but it's a bit pretentious and OTT for someone who was living in and espousing the California lifestyle. I can imagine the gales of laughter in certain quarters of So Cal when an epistle from M (with a crown above it) was received in the mail.

Not with repetitive tat from journalists like Alison Boshoff it won’t.

Is there even anything new in this article?

https://archive.ph/5o4Jn

‘source close to Harry’

’could’

Then some spin on security (‘partial victory’ = review as expected) and blah blah Plum Sykes blah blah Invictus veterans blah blah the King.

Dear oh dear.

Will Harry's big gamble on returning to England pay off?

Officially still, there is no confirmation that Prince Harry, Meghan and their children have relocated to the UK from California - which is absurd as they arrived ten days ago on a whopping private jet.

It would be great if the five hours of tapes includes her whining about Harry "He keeps asking for sausages ".

Is Charlotte G in the Sussex WhatsApp group? 😁.

Also, after watching that Palace Confidential, I have lost all respect for Richard Kay. William should stay away from HAM.

Re Charlotte G. I’m quite confused about her. Is she the person Harry fed a small white tablet to at a dinner party? Was she in the WhatsApp group? Is she the person some posters suspect was posting here a while back? Was she part of the balcony meeting/picture? If so how bonkers do you have to be to ever again go near someone who’d put a white pill on your tongue at a dinner party? The whole bloody lot of them are bottom feeders.

MrsLeonFarrell · Yesterday 07:12

I think @LipglossAlly may be half right in that I'm increasingly of the belief that royal adjacency isn't necessarily something Meghan will fight for. Whilst she does seem to love her title I think she may believe she has other options. She is certainly the partner who is doing the most work, even if most of her ideas and launches fall flat.

Harry on the other hand seems to have nothing except his royal adjacency. Even his charity work is only there because he was a working royal. He hasn't picked up new charities since he left. Mind you he seems to believe he is still a working royal which may be behind this enormous grudge that the family don't view him in the same way.

As an aside Zara can make money commercially mostly because she has never been a working royal. That is the key difference between her and the Sussexes. It's a fine line but it seems to be an important one in palace and public perception of what is acceptable and what isn't.

PoppysAunt · Yesterday 07:51

Good points, @MrsLeonFarrell, and I would largely agree. I think you're spot on about Harry. He's not been able to move on, and craves the life where he was a working royal, and in the Firm, supported and protected and looked after.
Meghan obviously relishes the title, it's given her status, fame, wealth and opportunities most people could only dream of. It's not been an outstanding success since the "Freedom Flight" , but she'll keep plugging away with projects, but ultimately the royal adjacency will protect and help her.

I don't think "bearing a grudge" is the right expression. It's rather light.
HaM showed themselves to be traitors. They lied and threw terrible accusations, publicly.
I think W&C have simply cut HaM out of their lives.
My mother had a (male) friend who said of a former-friend who betrayed him, "to me, he no longer exists." It was pretty chilling but said all he needed to say.
