How on earth can they suggest working on Kate to win PW round when they reportedly made these inflammatory comments a few weeks ago:

*Perhaps most strikingly, this progress has come without any sign-off from the Heir Apparent and his Queen-in-waiting, the Prince and Princess of Wales. Sources say William and Kate remain deeply reluctant to forgive, and have made little effort to ease tensions. Nevertheless, Meghan is said to feel newly empowered by the knowledge that their return doesn’t hinge on the Waleses’ blessing. Insiders claim her stance can be summed up in five blunt words: ‘We don’t need you anymore’.

‘It's becoming increasingly clear that they don't need William and Kate's approval, which has really boosted Meghan’s confidence. She and Harry believe that William, and presumably Kate, went out of their way to make life as difficult as possible for them and tried to block them at every turn. Ultimately, they failed, so of course Meghan and Harry both feel vindicated.
‘That being said, they would still very much like to have a better relationship with William and Kate, and they do intend to work towards that. But if that never happens, they believe they and their children will always have a place within the family. After years of feeling like Kate and her supporters were trying to push Meghan aside, they see this as proof that they endured.’

‘According to insiders, Meghan feels their position is stronger than ever – confident that, regardless of William and Kate’s feelings, their path forward no longer depends on them.’

‘For Meghan, the way William and Kate are behaving just proves that she and Harry were never the problem,’ we’re told. ‘She has always believed that they were singled out and bullied by a large majority of the Firm, who were actively aided and abetted by William and Kate. It’s so obvious to her that they’ve been poisoning everybody against her and Harry for years. It’s nothing short of a miracle that Harry has managed to find a way around the tidal wave of hatred levied at them, and she gives him great credit for that. She also credits Charles for being willing to go against the Waleses for the sake of his son and grandchildren.’
‘It’s not what anyone was expecting, least of all William and Kate. For so long, they were in the superior position, and – at least in Meghan’s view – very smug about it. And now, she feels they’re having to swallow some humble pie at last.’*

They are like bulls in a china shop - believing they can railroad their way back into RF.

Why do they need/want a relationship with PW and his children?

Edited

Assuming even a tiny part of that is accurate, it shows that they still haven't grasped how the hierachy of monarchy works. They sort of got away with attacking Charles whilst sucking up to the late Queen because at the end of the day he's a Dad, I don't see William being as forgiving.

If they want a royal adjacent future William and Catherine are the key, no one else in the family has any power to overrule a future King William. They keep making the same mistakes and expecting a different outcome. It leads me to wonder whether either of they really understand how the Institution works

Still upset about that missing sausage I think.

Has it ever been clarified what the RF need to apologise for?

AlwaysRightISwear · 05/09/2026 21:33

The entirety of Harry's life I think.

OliveMyLove · 05/09/2026 21:33

Not sharing their lipgloss and sausages.

Twitter is saying that Meghan is disappointed not to have had a warm reception from the family.

Sufficiently vague

Then in a previous article posted below, she's glowing in the knowledge that she doesn't need Palace approval (I'm paraphrasing)

They really do need to stop the constant silly manifestation leaks. They know damn well the only hope of some sort of status, fame is royal adjacency

Well that would be consistent with her announcing she felt ‘humiliated and sidelined’ after her recent 45 min meeting with KC3.

Read the room. No self awareness. If any of them has read either of those Closer articles and thought there was even a grain of truth then a ‘not warm welcome’ is pretty good going.

So self aggrandising and delusional.

Is this where she flounces off

I wonder if they are less manifestation leaks but their only route to make contact with members of the RF thru the megaphone of the press as no one is taking their calls?

Same with the security PR shite - are they hoping RAVEC will read Page 6 / Closer and take notes / be concerned as they have no direct access to them?

Huge news flash here. Without going into much detail Harry was seen by my mother in law a few days ago. She lives near Stroud. Father and mother in law were shopping for food in the surrounding area, I was told it wasn't stroud. Seems he smiled at her, she's on crutches and very slow walking...she said he looked stressed and she felt sorry for him. The whole encounter was over in a minute if that but got two elderly people in their 80s excited. I won't repeat what my father in law said as he straight to the point.

Please tell us what your FIL said to Harry, Londonrach 1, or at least if it was rude or friendly.

I just can't figure out what they are thinking?? They are so chaotic. If H is so worried about security, why is he freely wandering around the supermarket (as another poster said) ? If they want to make peace with the RF, why the leaks about bullying William and C and what a shit father KC is ???

There is an assumption on this thread that Harry and Meghan want to be royal- adjacent, but I'm m not sure this is completely the case, especially when it comes to Meghan. Of course, reconciling with Charles has proven very useful with them relocating back to the UK.
My impression is that they want their kids to grow up in the aristo/Spencer circle which will probably put their kids in good stead in a class- ridden society like the British one. I am not even sure that regaining popularity among the British public is a great priority, if they are going to be moving in the Spencer- adjacent circles why care?

An educated assumption. The Aristo circles value privacy and nothing they’ve done in the past 6 years would indicate a desire to be private. They obviously crave attention and stir it themselves when it’s not forthcoming.

I haven't read about an actual offer of a house at Althorp. Can anyone fill me in?

I can see them liking the idea of being in the aristocratic circle, but I don't think it's enough. Mainly because they also want and need money or resources to be provided for them. I'm not sure Charles Spencer has deep enough pockets or the inclination to help out to that extent. Their Scottish island dwelling new bestie is more the ticket for that.

I think that was before the children had Prince and Princess titles.

Probably based on them using royal titles for themselves and their children. An indicator of the desire for royal adjacency, one would suppose.

Starryfifty · 05/09/2026 22:17

The aristocratic circles are not high profile enough for HAM

Didn't she get announced by her title?
