Harry on the other hand seems to have nothing except his royal adjacency. Even his charity work is only there because he was a working royal. He hasn't picked up new charities since he left. Mind you he seems to believe he is still a working royal which may be behind this enormous grudge that the family don't view him in the same way.
Absolutely. Isn't it pathetic that he doesn't get this? He's often compared on here to a tantrum-ing toddler and one of the ways that's true is his childish inability to see that some situations are not reversible. It takes time for young children (in developmental terms) to understand that, and H doesn't seem to have grasped it as a 41 year old. It's not just a regular spat between siblings - H and M said terrible things about the RF, the UK and KC, W and C in particular which can't just be apologised for.
They either don't understand this, or disingenuously pretend not to understand, that you wan't walk back from these things. It would take years - years - of re-building trust to even re-establish family relationships - doesn't he understand that official royal life is now closed to him??
Yes, @MrsLeonFarrell, I agree - it's pathetic, he does seem to think he's still a working royal! That's the bit I just can't get my head around. I'd love to say to him "Whaaaaat? After you rubbished the whole royal business to a global audience and threw terrible shade on the now king, PoW and most spitefully, the Princess of Wales, saying they were trapped etc, and you think you can just pretend all that didn't happen???"
I hope the RF will just let him get on with it and not be provoked. It reminds me of the archaeologist Mortimer Wheeler who put all the terrible diggers into one empty trench (known as the Chicken Run) where they couldn't do any harm. All the competent diggers knew this but the Chicken Run lot faithfully trowelled away, believing they were doing valuable work!
