The Wales family spent last their summer holiday on the yacht, Lady Beatrice in Greece. It is not owned by an Arab Sheikh.

If he is “doing very well”. Why does he want to
come here for tax payer funded security? Is he going to pay for security if he goes to another European country, like Portugal, or for some reason does he not need security there?

eta oops! Wrong post quoted. Should have been the one from bunnybunbunbun that this was a reply to

twatwrangler · Yesterday 13:43

I don’t think H’s problems are a result of his service years.

More to do with being a hedonistic bad egg.

Lunde · Yesterday 13:43

Yes, absolutely his own resources, he can pay for himself. But, the benefits of being rich are that you know all sorts of other rich people and companies are always falling over themselves to give you freebies. William has loads of money and can afford to rent a yacht himself, but there is still speculation that he and the family take their holidays on a yacht owned by an uber-rich Gulf sheikh. It's not that they can't afford very nice things, but if people with much nicer things are willing to let you use them and there are no ethical issues or conflicts of interest, then why not make use of them?

In any case, I was only speculating in response to unsubstantiated claims (from "sources" that know nothing) that Harry is being assisted in his move by a billionaire. This theoretical assistance is a bonus, it's not essential, it's not needed for them to move back to the UK.

For the record, I absolutely believe that Harry can pay everything for himself. He isn't broke, he isn't struggling, he is doing very well.

You're getting your RF members mixed up

It was Queen Camilla who spent her 2025 holiday on a yacht owned by a Syrian-Saudi billionaire Wafic Said(who also donates a lot to the Conservative Party). He has a long history with the Parker Bowles family as their kids were at school together

We don't know if it was a freebie or whether she paid to charter it.

The yacht is owned by Wafic Saïd, a Syrian-Saudi entrepreneur and philanthropist.

I just saw the Alison article. Since the HaMs leached off Tyler Perry when they first moved to California, it is unsurprising that they are leaching off Ian Wace in their return. Turns out the Freedom Flight was a round trip.

Just like the HaMs paid off Tyler Perry by making him L's godfather, they will have to find a way to square things with Wace. As economists say, there is no such thing as a free lunch.

IMHO, it makes BP's assertion that KC3 was blindsided even stranger, as an operator such as Wace would not wrong foot the Crown as the downside to Wace is too great.

twatwrangler · Yesterday 13:51

I’m quite intrigued about the return of Fergs at the same time as M&H.

I wonder what circles they’ll mix in…

Unless of course PH told Wace that his father was fully aware and supportive of him coming back to the U.K.
In much the same way PH told the world that QEII gave her approval to use the name Lillibet. She didn’t, he lied.

Another olive branch 🌿 story 🙄🙄There have been many over the years - He was in William's year at Ludgrove.

Harry was mates with the younger brother, Henry, who died in a car accident age 18. He actually died on Ludgrove school grounds during a drunken staff party (he worked there during his gap year). He and a friend left to go to a cottage to pick up a CD player - Henry was the passenger - the driver was 2½ times the drink drive limit and lost control of the car and hit a tree. IIRC the driver survived but neither wore seatbelts.

I’ve thought about the naming of Lilibet and wonder if all H said to HMTLQ was - we are going to call our daughter after you. HMTLQ thought Elizabeth lovely, and then H&M announced Lilibet.

FWIW that's exactly what I think happened , and a similar story was told by the BBC. H sent in the lawyers to deny it , but BBC held firm , and H backed down.

IMHO, it is possible Wace could accept HaM's word in 2020 but I doubt any hedge fund guy in the UK would accept HaM's word on anything in 2026.

HaM have shown the world that their word means nothing as their recollections often vary from reality. IMHO, a hedge fund guy such as Wace would have checked discretely with BP as an association with the Crown brings benefits. Subsidising the leaching HaMs is a cost.

And a hedge fund billionaire can run the numbers.

We can mostly all relate to a tragic death of a friend.

As awful as that must have been, I reckon it is precisely sod all to with H’s behaviour and recreational choices.

And his determination to ruin everyone who was unable to let him be born first.

I am of the opinion that there would be no issues with the RF and the establishment if he had been.

I'm surprised H hasn't jumped on this yet as part of his trauma 😓

Harry's issue is, his older brother being future king. A role he thinks he is more deserving of

JSMill · Yesterday 14:24

I believe it was the mother of the friend who died who wrote to H after the OW to say how disappointed she was in him.

SqueakyDinosaur · Yesterday 14:25

Yes, he's spent the last 6 years whining about having been only the second most privileged child in the country.

Rural British prep schools are wonderful, in my recent experience. Archie will have a great time. Plenty of freedom to discover what he enjoys. British-standard prep schools abroad follow an old fashioned, much stricter model. Child-focused prep schools in southern England are wonderful places. (In my experience.)

😂

I think this is something H would do well to reflect upon. @notimagain made a good point above about those in the military who will get speaking engagements because of their experience - H isn't isn't in that category. Now, let me be clear , I have utmost respect for anyone who has served in the army , air force or navy at whatever rank. I couldn't do it. It would be beyond me. However, H has had honorary positions and patronages because he is KC's 2nd son , which would not be available to A.N.Other Captain Whoever who was not brought up in that rarified position. A little more gratitude for the opportunities his position brought him and a little less whinging he wasn't the actual next heir would go down a treat with me.

PH and Wace have had a close friendship for many years, continuing post Oprah, post Spare.
IMHO I don’t think Wace would be in touch with KC (discreetly or otherwise), he won’t want to involve himself in that and he doesn’t really need the benefits of any close association to the crown.
He has a friendship with Harry, accepts ‘his truths’ and is lending him a property to live in, because he wants to.

HeirNspareBNB · Yesterday 15:19

Found you!

Couldn’t resist the name change.

For those at you not in the UK, Saturday school starts at Year 7 so Archie won’t be in a 6 day week until then. And as a PP on a previous thread said, boarding starts at Year 4 and the children usually get eased in gently.

My brood have finally finished their vair expensive school that had very HNW families, overseas royalty and celeb children. I think going back to the Cotswolds is a mistake for them, there are some very loyal people to both KC and Camilla from her pre-Royal days. The teachers will be used to dealing with demanding parents and will not take any nonsense. One parent at my DC’s school called the paps and the Head was furious. It never happened again.

Puzzledandpissedoff · Yesterday 15:28

The only thing that astounds me more is that people still keep choosing to believe the racism narrative that she flung out to the universe

Confirmation bias perhaps, @twatwrangler, from the sort who'll insist racism is the only possible explanation for all manner of things?

And thanks once again for the new thread, @BigWillyLittleTodger Flowers

Justdancevance · Yesterday 15:33

Ian Wace has scrubbed his early life from the internet, a touch of the Gatsby perhaps..

His brother Charles had a TV production company which was sold to ITV and still in involved in media - perhaps a new podcast.

Charles has spoken about growing up in the West Indies and his stepfather was a journalist there.

I think the Cotswolds is a mistake as Meghan gets quick maniac looking when she’s feeling socially insecure

She’d fit in far better with the rest is Essex crowd

It's difficult because it would open a can of worms - as we know from the Mr Mischief/ Movie Snuggles texts - Harry was still engaging in that sort of behaviour a decade later when partying and driving home.

It's a really odd move from her perspective - moving to a traditional "country set" area. By all accounts she didn't get on with Harry's country mates when they got engaged - she doesn't approve of "hunting, shooting and fishing" and I don't think we've ever seen her riding.

Clearly this is about Harry's dream and she won't spend a lot of time there.

BillyBites · Yesterday 16:01

I suppose if it is true that he will be spending much more time here than she will, it makes sense for him to be somewhere familiar.
