Following on from the previous thread (and keeping it light) - is Sparebnb not more fitting 😊

Chef’s kiss to this and Heirbnb!

brilliant!

Thanks @Katrinawaves - I think we're mostly saying the same thing, though I may not have been as clear as you.

Which of the national newspapers haven't signed up to IPSO? I thought I'd seen rulings for most of them.

I'm surprised their photos were not leaked in the USA, especially as they walked around Disney. One of the busiest places and yet no photos seen by member of the public??

It's very difficult to do in the US - especially California

In 2013 the California Senate Bill 606 (SB 606), increased penalties for harassing children based on their parents' employment, effectively targeting aggressive paparazzi/people selling pictures. It bans actions like following them, recording, or photographing them in a way that alarms, annoys, or torments them without parental consent. A first offense carries up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $10,000. Parents can sue for damages, legal fees, and profits made from the unauthorized images

So basically any photos you see of Archie and Lili have been approved by their parents - including all of the blurry ones of the family at 4th of July/Halloween

I can understand him having been homesick and wanting a return to some semblance of a country he knows.

I can well imagine her disliking it, but accepting that if he and the children get sprinkled with the royal fairy dust again it ups their ante back into the higher echelons of society that she so craves.

But one cannot change the past. They cannot unsay and undo the damaging things they have both said and done. There's a lot of evidence that was not complimentary to the royal family, specific members of that family, this country, the media, etc etc. This simply cannot be eradicated and will follow them both for a considerable time, if not forever.

They don't heed sound advice or behave in any logical manner, so presumably it's just going to be the next chapter of their lives conducted with them doing things that attract media attention, whilst at the same time asking for privacy, whilst also wanting royal protection, whilst also wanting the royal association, whilst also needing to earn mega bucks commercially and on and on it goes.
Just back in the UK.

But they are hugely tarnished and many are wary of their motives and dislike their past actions. You need very solid, loyal friends with many years of friendship under your belt to be welcomed back into the fold.

You may have a loving father who happens to be King, but there is also the wider family issue as well.

I keep thinking back to that photo of PK With the kids and her ILS after she finished the 3 peaks climb. Such a happy normal family picture, the HAMs must have seen that. Their family life seems sort of lonely/empty.

That photo would have triggered them hugely. However it's what they chose. H was exceptionally close to Catherine and look how he and his wife have been horrendous to her. All for money. Tells you all you need to know about H

Guardian, Independenf and FT are all famously not members.

All the national mid markets and tabloids are (currently). But IPSO and the Editors Code don’t govern their YouTube channels or video output just the printed content.

I don't see what the issue is with regard to the school being named - or not.
We all knew where the Wales kids went initially and again, when they shifted to Lambrook. "Oh, nice," we all said, and went about our days as usual. No drama.

And yet here we have the Sussexes and look at all the column inches being filled with speculation and angst. It's almost as if it were planned to be that way...

They love to tease these things with rumours so they can play the victim later

Like their arrival - announcing it and clearly tipping off a friendly pap that it would be Birmingham so that there would be pictures of the big, VIP, Presidential-style motorcade ....🙄

The Wales family must fly in and out several times a year but are very rarely caught in pictures.

Yes - the Wales' family were smart - did a deal with the press for first day photos/or own photos on Instagram on the basis they are left alone after that.

Although the Wales' family hasn't done school photos since 2022 - I wonder whether we will get Eton photos of George?

Yes, they set their stall out from the minute they landed. I don't believe they have any intention of living quietly or privately.

Same shite, different country.🙄

I don't think they are capable of self reflection. They will use the kids to garner sympathy and they will be marched as KC adorable grandchild etc

Sources believe that the companies that want him to work for them will pay for his transatlantic travel by private jet

I imagine he's actually unemployable. Wonder which company is head hunting him and for what role!

Maybe that jam and sprinkles one in California?

I understand the homesickness but I wonder whether it will meet Harry's expectations.

Harry seems to be attempting to return to his single days, possibly teenage years, where he spent a lot of his time at Highgrove with a huge group of single mates - riding out/playing polo at the Beaufort club, weekend shooting parties, and lads' nights down the pub.... But who is going to do those things with him?

Many of his friends are married, with kids, have proper and serious jobs or estates to run and have moved on with their lives and friends since the mid 2000s. Some no longer live in the UK. Some will be happy to meet up now and again - others will be wary of becoming content for the next book deal as they can see that Harry has no filter or sense of other people's privacy 🙄

So what will he do with his days while the kids are in "day boarding" and Meghan is in the US?

Yes I quite agree. Harry is no doubt nostalgic for the past and happier times.

But he/they don't seem to think things through properly at all so presumably this is another act in the play of their life that hasn't been given proper rational thought.

Let's face it, most people wouldn't even attempt to do what he is trying to do. They would be too aware that they would have said too much and burnt too many bridges to return! They would have the self awareness to realise that this is not a good idea.

Does he realise that Highgrove is now owned by William and leased to KC?.

Recklessismymiddlename · Yesterday 12:29

Well republican mother has just announced <drumroll please>
that it isn’t the Sussexes leaking
oh no it’s the Palace!

I.Give.Up.

oh and as usually it’s all Kate’s and William’s fault. So yes there are really people like that. My blood pressure has hit the roof today.

She doesn’t get that Harry wants those titles more than ever and she’s a republican. <bangs head>

I don't think he does. He seems to have an astonishing lack of knowledge regarding the workings of the RF.

BreadInCaptivity · Yesterday 12:52

BunnyBunbunbun · Yesterday 08:31

Yes, absolutely his own resources, he can pay for himself. But, the benefits of being rich are that you know all sorts of other rich people and companies are always falling over themselves to give you freebies. William has loads of money and can afford to rent a yacht himself, but there is still speculation that he and the family take their holidays on a yacht owned by an uber-rich Gulf sheikh. It's not that they can't afford very nice things, but if people with much nicer things are willing to let you use them and there are no ethical issues or conflicts of interest, then why not make use of them?

In any case, I was only speculating in response to unsubstantiated claims (from "sources" that know nothing) that Harry is being assisted in his move by a billionaire. This theoretical assistance is a bonus, it's not essential, it's not needed for them to move back to the UK.

For the record, I absolutely believe that Harry can pay everything for himself. He isn't broke, he isn't struggling, he is doing very well.

The Wales family spent last their summer holiday on the yacht, Lady Beatrice in Greece. It is not owned by an Arab Sheikh.

I do wonder about the impact of alcohol and substance abuse. His memory is shocking and his awareness virtually nil.

Choux · Yesterday 13:04

Returning to billionaires - why put all your eggs in the basket of one ageing billionaire father (and a future billionaire brother who won’t speak to you) when you can also have a billionaire second father and a billionaire third father etc etc? That way you can maximize the probability that there will always be someone to fund your expenses and you can retain whatever wealth you have.

Regarding Ian Wace - he’s is a billionaire with a big philanthropic project. His Scottish island is both a retreat for the wealthy and a place where military personnel and emergency service workers can go to look after their mental health and wellbeing. From this article:
This emphasis on creating communal spaces is important because from the start of the project, Tanera has provided targeted support for those in public service. To date it has hosted more than 1,000 guests as part of a philanthropic programme, more than half of those from the Taigh Mor Foundation, a mental health and wellbeing charity for those in the emergency services or military. They come for rest and relaxation and to be subsumed in island life: helping out in the garden or in the kitchens; mackerel fishing, picking seaweed or restoring one of the buildings.

So that's how Harry got a paid for trip there. He's been serving since birth I think he said. Plus his mental health is shot and he was in the military.

MrsLeonFarrell · Yesterday 13:30

There have been a few articles like that over the years. It's one more that repeats like the Balmoral/ Sandringham ones.

I have no idea about public schools and no idea about the Cotswolds, I am however willing to bet that the Sussexes may not be the most famous family at the school.
