This is a great post. Whilst many on this thread deliberately ignore anything that could go against their staunchly and Harry and Meghan and pro William and Kate, I appreciate the detail.

Of course negative stories about William are more likely to be blocked and pulled because he's the heir, this is what one or two posters don't seem to get, it's not comparing like for like. After Harry went rogue of course there would be even more stories because there wasn't the protection of BP against the media.

None of the royals are above criticism. And this is a discussion board that AFAIK isn't meant to be an echo chamber.

After Harry went rogue of course there would be even more stories because there wasn't the protection of BP against the media.

If you care to look (which I suspect you may not), you will see plenty of stories about Harry that were printed well before he left the RF, including the stories of his assault on a photographer and a musician.

AustenitesUnite · Today 12:16

I don't want to derail this thread but am just wondering about the sad news that the Norwegian Royal Family are all gathering at King Harald's hospital bedside will distract people from the Sussexes?

I follow all the European monarchies so have an avid interest but I'm not sure how much this story will affect other people.

Harry isn't an innocent in this mess. He is, if anything, more to blame for the whole muddle. He chose to marry Megan without telling her what royal life is actually like. He chose to do a documentary accusing his family (the family he had previously said were like the family she never had) of being unwelcoming and uncaring. He chose to write an unpleasant, gossipy book full of inaccuracies and victimhood. He chose to call his father and brother trapped. He chose to attack his sister in law.

Harry has far more to apologise for than Meghan. If she left the country tomorrow we would be stuck with his entitled, whiny presence and have to listen to him complaining about a privileged life most cannot even dream of and still believing he is the victim.

I'm not saying Harry is totaly innocent and I agree he threw his family under the bus in a disgraceful fashion but I think Meghan had a lot to do with manipulating his mindset. This is what happens in controlling relationships. However, yes I do agree that he went too far.
I think Meghan knew perfectly well what royal life was like. She wasn't a young naive virgin when she married Harry. She was well in to her 30s and obssesed with the Royals. I think she knew exactly what she was doing - get famous then leave and make money. I doubt she ever intended to stay long term.
It's telling that he loved his family prior to Meghan and didn't feel 'trapped' or anything like that - then along comes Meghan filling his head with all sorts. I believe she's pulling his strings and he's the puppet.
I have personal experience of this - when I was in a controlling relationship for 12 years back in my 20s I became less fond of my family as my ex brainwashed me against them to some extent. I'm upset that I ever allowed that to happen, but mind games are powerful and thankfully I am totally reconciled to them now.

I'm amazed someone as arrogant as MM would tolerate being treated like that.

She didn’t hence the pouting.

Same with her declaring last month that she felt ‘humiliated and sidelined’ after her 45 mins with KC3 - for someone of her highly sensitive, controlling and grandiose disposition this would be a devastating emotional experience.

Post WRF we don’t need SM or tabloids to hide, embroider, make up or escalate H&M stories because the clowns put so much content out directly to the general public via their PR team with interviews, speeches, announcements, docuseries, books, podcasts etc that we can appraise the shit directly from the horses mouth - and it has proven in its volume over the last decade to be consistently and persistently hypocritical, delusional and jarring to most people. They have created this circus and eroded their own brand daily with their nonsense words and actions. They just put themselves up for ridicule day in day out - not making a penny for themselves but inadvertently lining the pockets of all areas of media - they give this entertainment away for free. Hilarious really.

Quite. Also plenty of photographic evidence.
I'm remembering, unfortunately, the naked pool game 🤮 🤢

I don't think it's possible to really grasp what it's like marrying into the British royal family. Diana and Sarah both struggled and they were both English and royal adjacent. Meghan had no background cultural knowledge and seems to have assumed it was like being an A list celebrity. Of course she also refused the support and advice offered which didn't help. I'm not saying that she didn't play her part in the debacle but Harry doesn't seen to have helped her at any point in the process. What a failure of a husband, he is happy to send a press release but that's the limit of what he is prepared to do.

Harry has caused anguish to the UK? Steady on. That’s a bit hyperbolic.

I have no idea what he has supposedly done to the country?

Outside of these threads and DM readers, there are a lot of people who don’t really care.

And another one …

There's no need to be passive aggressive @bluegreygreen with your "which I suspect you may not" Smile

You may care to note that that I was talking comparatively and after he left the UK, (in response to someone saying why weren't there more negative stories about William in total). I wasn't saying that there were never any negative stories about Harry before left, in fact my point was that he was always easier game because of not being the direct heir.

DaisyDooley · Today 12:34

Did you mean to quote me? I wasn't talking about William, who I agree gets unfairly labeled workshy.

I didn’t quote you.
I quoted @Hostamenace689 who quoted you and then slagged off William.
I wondered if you would think that -sorry, I should have put an adendum in.

Sorry misread it. I didn't want your valuable points to be missed by the person you were addressing. But apparently i can't read forums very well!

He wasn't "easier game" because he wasn't the heir.
He was easier game because he was a drunken out of control, boorish idiot.
William wasn't protected by anyone. If he'd thrown women fully dressed in a swimming pool, tried to assault photographers, was photographed playing pool naked, it would have been reported.
I really think it's time to understand that Harry really had brought this on himself.
Entirely.

twatwrangler · Today 12:38

Harry is easier game because he is consistently an arse.

Not because he is the spare.

I too would like transparency about the RF.

So we have mentioned the King andd Queen. William. AMW.

Wonder who we could do next?

Perhaps we could have full transparency with the two that seem so desperate to cling to the monarchy.

I feel that there is much that has been kept quiet. Him certainly. And quite likely her.

You can go on about 'whataboutism' as much as you like but the first two people to mention William on this thread were @Mylovelygreendress and @CoffeeCantata , making fun of generic whataboutism without anyone mentioning him.

William has been mentioned over 90 times on this thread. Only a few of that has been by people who are (constructively) criticising him.

No doubt someone will blame "the media" (sic)!
However.

Apparently.

I do believe it is because he cannot be defended.

That's because there are some wild suggestions that William's behaviour has been at least as bad, if not worse, than Harry's.
People are correcting that blatant falsehood.

Yes. The usual suspects are to blame. William, "the media", the Phantom of the Opera....

I disagree. And that's the point @DandyAF was making. That there have been stories about William's 'bad' behaviour that have been covered up. Because he was the heir. Of course that's going to happen. The Royal Family have tried to cover up a lot.

You seem to see this in black and white, which is not how it is at all. It's uninformed to think the Royal Family don't put a positive spin on certain members and cover up their deeds, we've seen that. If Harry had behaved as Andrew did, it's likely the Queen would have covered that up.

But yes generally Harry has behaved worse than William.

What about Lady Louise? She may go by the lesser title but most people know she could be a HRH Princess Louise if she chose to be ….

IIRC Lady Louise is also an Officer Cadet in the Army Reserve - I think it was something she did at St Andrews
