The UK press won't. There is an agreement about children. William and Kate, and Edward and Sophie regularly did school runs and school sports activities without any pictures published.
I suspect any photos published will be from Meghan's Instagram, as is the case now.

Adored until the press identify one of them as the new public enemy number 1 and that child gets to be the royal pariah of their generation, but this time in a world where everyone carries a camera and can share images instantly.

Maybe I have been blinded by the PR, but I do think William and particularly Catherine seem suited to their jobs, and I love the glamour and the pageantry of Royalty.

However, the institution is unavoidably toxic.

Or rather the parents kept them out of the spotlight when they were young. If H called a photoshoot at his DCs’ school, the royal rota would come running.

My friend's children were at the same school as William at one point, and it was all handled pretty low key and with not much disruption to the other students.

In which case , sorry , misunderstood. I think I'm agreeing with you 😂 Like @Asunciondelaflata and @JustAnotherWhinger I think the press will be very careful with the children. I really don't think I've ever seen a photo of eg Zara's children on the school run. So unless the school relocates to the cinema where the Harry Potter premier was (or wherever those stock photos they used in the docuseries were taken ) I don't think the school is going to be a problem regarding the press. It was never going to be, not even when M was claiming it would be.

But being a Royal without the media drama means being the Gloucesters or the Kents in a car park somewhere that only the local paper* cares about.

Is that really what they want?

If they do get 'papped' it would likely be by foreign publications, not British. I don't see why the unspoken 'agreement' about not photographing royals 'off duty would not apply to them. This aside, aggressive 'paps' are mostly a thing of the past. Chasing parents bringing their children to school isn't acceptable these days.

For one thing, the privacy laws about children in the UK being papped and having their photos published with faces showing are strong; parental consent is needed for the publication of uncensored papped photos. This applies to all children.

It's why often photos of celebrity children showing their faces will not be published in the UK but will be in the US.

We basically just x-posts saying the same thing, but the agreement about school photos for certain royals was very much not unspoken, and was an agreement given the public interest of certain high-ranking royals. So the odd school photo, and then they're left alone. It's as much about the children not being followed by paps as it is about them not being photographed by the paps.

Which is the point. How much consent will the Sussex parents decide on. I have the feeling at least one of them will be happy to consent to quite a lot of exposure, because they will be depending on clicks to bring in the cash.

There is so much more cache for Meghan if her children are British Royals actually in Britain, as Americans for example are likely to think they follow royal protocol and have royal privileges even if that isn't true.

Going to a British private school has a certain social capital about it, particularly for Americans. If, as I suggested above, they want Archie to go to Eton in the future, that has huge name recognition that no real high school in the States has.

I think Archie is 7, so he is at the age to go to a prep school. The more I think about it, I wouldn't be surprised if they're setting him up to go to Eton or similar in the future and one of the benefits of moving now is getting him in the public school system.

Definitely. Plus I'd put money on Archie going to Eton. They'll probably rely on the Bank of Pa to pay, or a Trust Fund.

I have always thought they would move back to get Archie into the private school system. Especially when there are photos of George plastered everywhere amid talk about Eton .There is no way Meghan or Harry want their son to miss out on the kudos that being at a British public school brings. He'll be put down for Eton asap.

I'm catching up on all the comments so apologies if this has been said but while I think C3 has been subbing their lifestyle for years I also think he may now be staring down the barrel at some stonking both recently acquired and longer standing undisclosed bills and debts and if so I don't think it'll be long before he's looking for ways to off-load them onto the public along with unconscionable security costs which if / when discovered would go down like a cup of cold sick.

I also wonder if there's as yet undisclosed trouble with the Archewell grift added into the mix.

Marlborough is very much Middleton territory! There are other schools for girls that are not tainted by association. I don't think H would choose Eton either, he struggled there so maybe they will choose somewhere less academic but mixed sex for them.

Yep the international name recognition or high level ranking is vital.

I could see them possibly choosing Westminster for both of them, with boarding from 13+

But I think Meghan will be intent on Archie going to Eton, what's good for the goose etc.

For Lily I'd say Wycombe Abbey.

Then to a Ivy League university in the US.

All dependent on academics or special royal dispensation. But above is what I think Meghan's ideal will be.
