Swein Forkbeard?
Cnut?
English rather than British kings but still monarchy!

Kings of England but not English.

English kings, as in kings of England.

We talked about Anne, Victoria, Julianne, Elisabeth and Benedikte. Knud, James/Jacob and Haakon. Not only British royals but Scandinavian.

ArmySurplusHamster · 03/08/2026 19:59

Andrew.

Nellieinthebarn · 03/08/2026 20:01

Sophie or Edward.

3 of mine already share names with royals - coincidentally as mine are older, my niece and nephew are too actually! At a push I’d use Henry or Charlotte

rhubarbqueen · 03/08/2026 20:25

Matilda or Aethelflaeda

My children already have proper Christian names which have been used by royals.
Their names don’t embarrass them, don’t put them in an age bracket, aren’t spelt in a ridiculous way and will take them anywhere.
An I judgey about names? You better believe it! A lot of eye rolling goes on here.

Do you feel better now?

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 03/08/2026 20:30

Not a fan of most of the royal names I know of. Don’t dislike the names - they’re just not my taste.

If I had to choose, Charlotte, Archie, Zara or Sienna.

Betadelta · 03/08/2026 20:33

Allmarbleslost · 03/08/2026 20:34

George or Beatrice

ladygindiva · 03/08/2026 20:36

Edward. He's pretty inoffensive and I like the name.

ContractorQuestion · 03/08/2026 20:39

Christian
Astrid
(sticking with my Nordic roots)

clearlyy · 03/08/2026 20:42

ASisterforArabella · 03/08/2026 20:46

Er…no. Given that Peter Philips is Princess Anne’s son. Think we might have been aware of that level
of incest 😆😆. Zara is Anne’s daughter. Autumn was a married in minor royal

SquigglePigs · 03/08/2026 21:33

Just because I reasonably like the names:

James or William
Zara, Charlotte or Catherine (but spelt Kathryn)

I think George, Charlotte and William are nice names and I wouldn’t mind using one of those. I like Louis as well but it’s a bit too similar to one of my children’s names so I wouldn’t want to use that.

Huey or Dewey?
