A lighter thread for chat about Harry and Meghan

Thought I'd start a lighter Harry & Meghan thread.

Posting here doesn't mean you're a fan, a supporter, or that you agree with everything they do. It's simply a space for anyone who wants to have a more lighthearted chat, share things they like e.g. maybe it's a photo you thought was lovely, an outfit you liked, a moment from an appearance, or just something that caught your eye.

People will always have different opinions, but sometimes it's nice to have a space for a different type of conversation 🙂

I actually see it from a completely different angle. Rather than stealing her spotlight, him being a part of that show through FaceTime is just a great example of a healthy relationship dynamic.

They have a really easy, natural chemistry and clearly just enjoy each other's company. A confident woman isn't going to feel threatened by her partner popping in to show support or doing a quick cameo, it doesn't take away from her shine at all.

Personally, I think it's healthy when partners actively engage in what the other loves. In my own relationship, we make it a priority to stay interested in each other's separate worlds. My partner asks questions about my passions, and while I don’t attend all his regular football events, I made sure to join in on the World Cup stuff.

I can see your point. But I find it strange that Harry always seems to pop up when Meghan has a project but she rarely gets involved in his. Surely if it said something about their relationship it would be reciprocal?

It's just a theory and happy to agree to disagree. Like a previews poster I feel Meghan has far more to offer commercially than Harry so to me it's counter productive for him to keep popping up in her stuff.

Meghan though seems quite happy with it so who I an really to comment!

I'm making a point about Harry's involvement, which someone said was "undermining" and another said it was the sign of a happy marriage!
Of course it's about selling, because that's their livelihood. That's not a criticism.
It's important not to think that every comment is a criticism of H&M. Obviously, they've got their fans on here, which is fine, but there's a reality as well!
.

But I agree it's about selling and think ... so what... they have to make money somehow! So we do agree. Good for them, at least they're not leeching off the taxpayer!
Perhaps she has done so well with it she can become a permanent judge, that would be good selling!

We do agree! I don't blame her at all. It's not trashing the RF, it's not living off KC or the taxpayer (security aside, though, a whole other thread).
She needs to make money, she's just trying to find how best to do it because I think that hostessing programme got cancelled (sorry I don't know what it was called)

I recently enjoyed Harry on the Joe Marler Will See You Now podcast from 13th July.
It was funny, human, blokey and just like they were down the pub.

StormGazing · 29/07/2026 13:21

Their relationship with the country started out ok …. It’s kinda gone south since then … at least they’re more popular than Andy

Relationships aren't tit-for-tat, and keeping a strict scorecard and it is actually a sign of an unhealthy dynamic, not a healthy one. True reciprocity doesn't mean making identical public appearances; it's about showing up when and how you can.

We only see a tiny fraction of their lives, so it's a bit of a leap to assume their support isn't mutual. Meghan has actively attended and supported his Invictus events and polo matches in the past, and there are plenty of plausible reasonslike scheduling or availability, maybe she had to take the kids to an acitvity rhay could explain why she might not have been at more.

Besides, from what we do see of them, they both look genuinely happy and content with how they show up for each other, which is all that really matters.

I am not a podcast listener so I will try to make time to listen to it or watch some clips as I do enjoy anything that's just lighthearted fun, usually I get that through comedy shows.

Shouldn’t you rename this thread as ‘I love H & M because…’
you seem to take it incredibly personally if someone disagrees that they are the second coming of Christ

I agree that we can tell practically nothing about anyone's relationship from what they do, or even say, publically. That goes for everyone in the public eye. My point wasn't about their relationship it was about the fact that I think Meghan would do better commercially without Harry popping up in everything she does. But again, that's their call to make.

I think it is the opposite of a healthy relationship dynamic! I can't imagine my colleagues getting facetime calls when they are in the middle of something important. If my colleagues husband did this I would think it was a red flag.

You can be interested in what your partner is doing without jumping into the centre of it.

This was done to create a talking point, to highlight their brand, etc.

HollyhockDays · 29/07/2026 13:57

They get it right and wrong at the same time is the problem. Masterchef - right
Fake / staged “surprise” call from Harry during Masterchef - wrong

Having a private visit to the UK to see family - right
Photo dump of said private visit - wrong

Apparently it was a condition of her getting g to be on the show that he made some sort of appearance. I do t think be g on it has done enough to rehab their image so she would have been better passing on the whole thing.

There are other threads or you can start your own if you would like to criticise them.

I started this for thise of us who would like a space to just talk about the things we do like. As ever some people do not have the maturity to respect that and still feel the need to.

Feel free to join in and tell me if there is anything you have liked otherwise not sure what you would want to discuss here

But why? Why should she pass on the whole thing because you think she should?!
She enjoys cooking, lifestyle stuff and all this sort of things so why would you just pass up an opportunity?
In very many other places not MN she got positivity from doing it so why should she decide not to?

I really am not sure that either of them think deep enough that they would like to think this is rehabilitation of their image. They possibly don't think that they need to rehabilitate their image! They are just doing their own thing, enjoying what they are doing whilst they are doing it and that's it really.

That’s not what your thread title says though. It doesn’t say only post if you can say anything positive.
dont think you can dictate what is discussed on this thread any more than you could on the numerous previous threads you’ve commented on

A thread title should never be too long its just not good practice. Besides people actuslly read the post the OP puts up on why they started a thread and I was clear.

Im not stopping you, I am politely asking you. You can carry on by all means go ahead but it speaks volumes that you think this is the right thread to air those comments on when there are existing threads that are for those types of discussions.

So is there anything you have liked that you would like to share?

No need to snipe.
There is nothing wrong with being a fan, I am not criticising you or your friends on here.
I'm not really even criticising H&M so calm down.

threesocksmorgan · 29/07/2026 16:18

nice idea for a thread @LipglossAndLies hope it stays positive.
Im not a "fan" of H&M just don't think they are as bad as people make out on here.
edited to add I like the photos they shared.

Yes, there was a lot of squealing!

That happens on every single episode with every single guest judge or chef. It wasn’t about Meghan.

I know that. It's a different show to UK MasterChef which I have already said. British contestants just grin and smile!

Thank you @BasiliskStare

I am not into photography but it's just capturing a moment and in this case it was the flash cameras behind that made it so beautiful

The whole idea of being a fan of someone you'll never know is so strange. There are plenty of amazing, genuine, funny people out there to admire.

She has lots of time and money to make images of herself look incredible. But it's just that ...an image.

The thing that 'caught my eye' was that she talks a lot about family and sentimentality, etc and yet seems to have fallen out with most of her own family and her in laws.

Another thing that 'caught my eye' was the disconnect between wanting privacy and the photo dumps on Instagram..

I don't hate her or anything like that - just general observances.

Well lots of people admire the RF don’t they and they don’t really know them and yet that is deemed perfectly normal. They also project a public curated image. Ditto any actor, musician, artist or public figure.

My general observances for what they are worth regarding the posting of photos is that Meghan is criticised a lot for hypocrisy when actually I think it’s about control. She is at liberty to post the pictures of her family she wants to on her Instagram site, which is very different to a photographer intruding on your privacy in order to take a photo of your dc and sell it for financial reasons.

Yes, this is where I stand and it’s nice to have a positive thread for a change! Thank you LipglossAndLies.

I don’t care who you are, if you are raising dc, and you get such relentless nastiness thrown your way every day, it’s got to be tough. Enough is enough.
