A lighter thread for chat about Harry and Meghan

Thought I'd start a lighter Harry & Meghan thread.

Posting here doesn't mean you're a fan, a supporter, or that you agree with everything they do. It's simply a space for anyone who wants to have a more lighthearted chat, share things they like e.g. maybe it's a photo you thought was lovely, an outfit you liked, a moment from an appearance, or just something that caught your eye.

People will always have different opinions, but sometimes it's nice to have a space for a different type of conversation 🙂

I’m neither a fan nor a hater. I thought Meghan was lovely on Australian MasterChef. She was warm and gracious and genuinely knowledgeable about food and flavours and made proper observations. She did well.

I'll start with a few things that stood out to me. Not because I follow them closely, but because sometimes a photo or moment just catches your eye.

The rain/umbrella photo is one of those that comes to mind as I think it’s a really striking image and the way it was captured makes it memorable.

The church wedding photo stood out because of the beautiful architecture and ceiling. I love the black and white style too; it gives it a really timeless feel.

As I do like black and white photos, the recent one of Harry throwing Lilibet in the pool also caught my eye, as it's a lovely fun moment. My sister often misses getting those with her kids 😆

This won’t end well! There’s no such thing as a light hearted chat about H&M.
That shot of H throwing Lili in the air has to be photoshopped surely? There’s no way he could have thrown her that high.
it is a nice photo though.

LifeIsTooShort247 · 28/07/2026 19:43

Thanks OP, you are brave but let's hope people respect the spirit of this thread. Fingers crossed.

I watched her Netflix show but I do love those lifestyle shows and happily binge them) and especially liked the episode with Tan France as I love him from Queer Eye and Next in Fashion. I never heard of one pot pasta before so learnt something new!

I love a bit of calligraphy myself. I've always kept up my school joined-up writing but finally tried learning proper styles during Covid when we all had too much time on our hands. Her handwriting is certainly unique, quite a stylized version of everyday cursive.

Of course he could, he’s a grown man and she’s only little! Especially if she also pushed off. Heck I could toss a child that high myself (caveated by the fact I’m a cheerleader)

I haven't watched the entire episode as I am behind but saw some clips and agree with what you say even from the small parts I saw.

I agree. Her hair looked really glossy, unlike my straw like hair 😂

I only watched a bit of it, she came across well in my opinion.

Just ignore it, it just shows them up that as an adult they can't be mature enough to be respectful.

Culpeper · 28/07/2026 20:07

I also thought it was sweet how genuinely thrilled the contestants were to see her there. My friend lives in Australia and says Harry and Meghan are very popular.

Fromhere1 · 28/07/2026 20:08

The whole idea of being a fan of someone you'll never know is so strange. There are plenty of amazing, genuine, funny people out there to admire.

She has lots of time and money to make images of herself look incredible. But it's just that ...an image.

The thing that 'caught my eye' was that she talks a lot about family and sentimentality, etc and yet seems to have fallen out with most of her own family and her in laws.

Another thing that 'caught my eye' was the disconnect between wanting privacy and the photo dumps on Instagram..

I don't hate her or anything like that - just general observances.

I like her messy bun styles and I use a shine spray so she probably uses products to get that glossy look although last time I was at my hairdressers he mentioned a a gloss treatment to me.

Yes, there was a lot of squealing!

ShetlandishMum · 28/07/2026 20:17

I found this book second hand for 50p
"Meghan and Harry. The Real Story" by Lady Colin Campbell.

It was too long that book but had a few good points.
I never think Harry and Meghan will be truely happy. They seem so haunted by the past.

I too was taught joined to handwriting and have made sure to keep it up and always write that way when I do. Although its becoming less often now with technology.

I also liked her calligraphy although its something I'll have more time for when I retire 😆 I also want a proper pen and ink bottle, I used to use parker pens.

Will need to watch Australian masterchef 🫪

Love them

Culpeper · 28/07/2026 20:21

So many of my friends have babyish writing that’s barely more than printing. I take great pride in my ‘proper’ handwriting and one (not both, sadly) of my sons has gorgeous writing too.

I’d also like to learn calligraphy like Meghan one day.

simpsonthecat · 28/07/2026 20:23

My dear old Mum, long gone, had beautiful handwriting. Everyday type handwriting but so pretty.

I am a really quick handwriter but it's ugly!

Morepositivemum · 28/07/2026 20:23

Love Australian Masterchef and liked the clip I saw with her in it- must watch!

I just finished watching the episode she was on, I love Masterchef in general anyway so always watch the different ones in different countries. I enjoyed it and she came across well, asked sensible questions and showed interest in the contestants so it showcased them and their stories.

I am the same I secretly take pride in mine and do get lots of lovely comments about it. You will enjoy it when you have the time to learn it can be quite meditative and I believe Meghan used to teach it too in some classes
