A derail but the 'family' that couldn't afford hotel rooms for themselves so they used to put him in a hotel and sleep in their car in the car park so he could attend with the rest of the training squad.

I am puzzled about the headlines saying Harry is offering an olive branch ? If anyone offers an olive branch should it not be KC ? What has the RF done wrong that they should be given a second chance?

It’s also worth reiterating that QC turns 80 during the IG and various events are planned so the RF may be otherwise occupied.
Also , KC is still receiving treatment for cancer so who knows what his health will be like .
And ……unless funding is confirmed , I doubt the Games will happen at all !

I think that is really going to be their only option very soon.

@Baital KC has had a lifetime of practice steering conversations into uncontroversial topics.
This is why I disagree that the meeting is a sign of KC3 being weak. He's kept up the facade of being a loving father whilst giving Harry precisely nothing.
I think "private tea with grandad" is a great PR move by the Palace.

They are so dull though, and totally without humour.

He can keep on doing this but all it achieves is clicks and money for the media and at the same time tarnishing H&M already dusty reputation with the general public.

The RF are playing a blinder. W&C are never in H&M shit storm orbit - the whole brothers at loggerheads is now not even considered in the media - as W&C have moved on with dignity and integrity.

The biggest slap in the face for H&M was to be very consciously, deliberately and publicly excluded from all or any of these events around KC3’s trip to the US earlier this year. Anyone of any significance was included. That made it very clear where H&M stand - not even a nod or a verbal mention that KC3 has his blood family living there.

The visit this summer served many purposes for KC3 - it look any wind out of PH sales or media speculation that KC3 was a cold rejecting grandfather - it also that he was 100% in control. He had clear criteria, then consequences and deadlines. Removing the BP offer was a master stroke - no one felt sorry for PH. He’s just at best a laughing stock - eye-rolls and side eye when when his brings his circus to town but at worst proven to be a self serving, vexatious, bitter, jealous, malicious, manipulative and vengeful character that requires managing with distance, grey rock, info diet etc it’s a long game and I think that PH (not MMs) recent shenanigans is all about PH wanting the RF experience and status for his DCs which despite their title they don’t get in the US. Pennies are dropping of the negative consequences of their own actions on their own DCs - who have zero family experience - aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents (except Doria) around them - or any old friends of either parent in an out of their lives. It must be a very lonely and emotionally lacking experience for them all.

I think using Highgrove was a clever move . A country house where they could arrive and leave quietly rather than a castle or palace in full view of the public .

It'll be interesting to see how KC manages them going forward. Once William is King he will just totally ignore them.

There were some photos of Mike T with George recently. He looks like he has a great relationship with William's children and they all seem very close. He's effectively behaving like their Uncle . I wonder if Harry actually thinks about the loss of his relationship with his nephews and nieces. They are the only ones he has. William has Catherine's family.

That’s a good point. The children of the wider but non-working family members get to dress up and look the part at Sandringham and at family events - because they are inside the tent. H&M can piss outside in their bare-footed so-cal style as much as they want, they can release as many back of head photos as they can find outlets to print them, but it just reinforces their status as outsiders.

I think this is pure speculation, how does the press know this. Andrew Lownie has changed his mind now too.

One of our posters who lives near Tetbury posted about increased activity and road closures around that time!

There was an award celebration being hosted at Highgrove the same day for an embroidery competition that was sponsored by C and C as I remember. I imagine that the tea was fitted around that and all the comings and goings served as a distraction and also a reason why the timing was fairly rigid.

It was a clever move - well yes I can see you but sorry I have this other big event scheduled here today 😂

I doubt PH thinks about his loss of being an uncle - but I suspect seeing the big extended family having fun and nurturing all the children and cousins must absolutely sting that he can’t provide this for his own children.

Yep, I bet it hurts as he is used to a large family who, by the nature of their position are probably quite insular - easier to trust those in the family than out.

My kids have so far had several days and sleepovers with their cousins this holiday. It's lovely to have those friends who will grow with them and stay with them, no separation due to school choices, uni choices etc.

It must be very hard hosting people who you utterly distrust. Hopefully they were able to prevent any filming/recording.

I also suspect that the meeting will have been kept very, very bland, just in case. Any recordings would hopefully bore an audience into a stupor. I would imagine the RF want a "grey rock" situation at the moment in any case.

I honestly think neither of them realise in the long run the RF will win. The grey rocking has been successful. It makes H&M look slightly loopy

I may not support the institution but even I can see when something's being done well, @BasiliskStare, and one of the strengths of the RF is that they always take the long view - but then after some of the storms they've manged/spun their way out of they can afford to

If he really cared about his relationship with his dad, he would stop leaking and planting stories. He would also have put down with his wife and her stupid whining about feeling ‘humiliated’.
