Exactly, it was Harry’s fun loving irreverent persona which endeared him to so many people, but he has aged out of that schtick, it just doesn’t work for a 40+ year old, I think that is why people believe he is thick, he is relying on slapstick humour, pinch a nipple here, slap an arse there, to try to charm and win over people, he has not progressed beyond the clowning around that worked for him many years.

I've always preferred "vulgar", @AliasGracie, but really it just seems to come down to a basic inadequacy for the role she so willingly took on, and now a disintegration because it's become so obvious

Not knowing her personally it's unclear whether this is because of her background, personaility or something else, but while it's also true that many of us wouldn't have been able to hack it either, I suspect most would have had more sense than to try

Very good points, Harry truly seems to be stuck in the past when he was still Diana's lickle boy and people felt sorry for him, but decades have passed and things are very different now. The last ten years have done so much damage to his reputation, mostly caused by himself, that he can never be seen as the same person again!

I don't believe it's about his mental health at all. He's a very flawed individual and not a nice one. He has proven himself to be a liar. He lied about his family purely for financial gain. He tried to destroy the reputation of two female journalists, both of which were always supportive of him, again for financial gain.

H does not want to be working royal. What he wants is status. A royal house where he and his wife can get full bells and whistles security. He wants the pomp and ceremony

At least ground it in some sort of reality. He's a 13 year old boy, leave him be.

Because, where the RF is concerned, if we had to stick with known and indisputable facts ( as much as there can ever be such a thing on a RF thread) we'd all be bored to.tears and have to decamp to AIBU.

I'm reading the Guardian article on Jason Arday at the moment, having read thecUnherd one by Dr Stock.

Both list this man's fantastical claims (and the Guardian dowses many of them with journalistic skepticism that just falls short of callig him.a liar). I'm am being reminded so much of MM in this respect.

Staying stuck at a particular age is very dangerous I think for some people especially if they are in the public eye. I think that was part of AMW’s problem that he thought he was still the Falkland’s hero living in a time when the monicker “Randy Andy” was practically an expression of admiration and he was still quite good looking with girls throwing themselves at him. Time and public mores moved on and he didn’t landing him in a lot of trouble.
Harry with his arse slapping jokes etc is at grave risk of going the same way. Not to mention the love of billionaires - he is bound to end up linked to someone dodgy (more so than the current list of friendly Russians and Tyler Perry lending houses and use of private jets).

Off topic I know, but I've also been following the Arday situation, Rhaidimiddim, and am convinced that's another one which will blow up - and that when it does the usual tired howls of racism will be repeated

I guess the relevance to the thread is that here's someone else who appears to have used the zeitgeist to full advantage, supported by far too many who've been unwilling to acknowledge the glaring inconsistencies

HAM don't see beyond week by week. In 5 years time, George will have a prominent role in the WRF. If he wants it of course. Then Charlotte and L. H genuinely believes he's adored by the British public. He has publicly said he's sure the British public want him safe 🙄 he's unbelievably entitled and arrogant. He's the absolute bar of AMW. I think you are right however I think we will start to see the Wales DC at more events . It was interesting that Louis was included at the Commonwealth Games ; H and M simply can’t compete with that no matter how many photos of the backs of A and L’s heads they post.

It may not be as a full-time working royal (he is likely to go to university, and may undergo military training), but he is the heir and has already begun carefully selected public engagements alongside his parents.

Yes. The Spanish princesses, aged 19 and 20, have an increasingly prominent role, attending engagements alongside their parents and occasionally independently too. They're both still in full time education so obviously they are not 'working royals' and Infanta Sofia probably never will be. But they are still taking on more of a public role. Same with Crown Prince Christian in Denmark. I could see the same happening with George, but not for a few years yet.

I did a search for “ Young, Edward vii” and I found this picture which I thought looked like Charles. I don’t know why I was surprised that there was such a family resemblance within a family.
Then I thought that was a rabbit hole I didn’t want to go down. It is very rainy where I am today and I could easily spend my whole afternoon online.
