The lake photo is Loch Ossian apparently, half way between Inverness and Glasgow.

There’s speculation online that the black stone slab on which lavender was strewn in one of the pics was Diana’s grave . Don’t really want to say more, even as an anonymous poster on an anonymous forum who never had so much as a passing interest in Diana when she was alive - too icky.

I’m really not sure why you aren’t being believed, this thread is taking a very odd turn ( derail).

@notimagain is not talking out of their ass, certainly knows their way around a cockpit and a commercial aircraft, is a regular on any airline discussion, so it’s unfair to dismiss their contribution on a post about where an aircraft is or isn’t parked.

Just jumped back in the thread and it’s taken quite the turn, wasn’t expecting a deep dive into aeroplane parking! Informative as it is shall we get back on track?

I thought you had personal knowledge of military planes and helicopters?

It's all designed to tease isn't it? Guess where we were? Guess what we were doing? Guess what our kids look like! It's pitiful.

On further googling and in response to the aircraft being mere metres away from other objects - under certain conditions and according to the circle of safety, luggage containers for eg can be parked. 2-3 metres away from the fuselage.

It’s not what she posted information wise , it’s the way she posted it! , and it’s unimportant how close to the wall that the plane is parked, it’s about the fact that the outside view from the plane has been manipulated .

I don’t know why I am getting involved, but I hate seeing an unfair pile on.

I have an interest in aviation, so I see @notimagain around here on aviation and airline threads, what I remember is they are ex airforce, and like thousands of others, when they leave /retire they are snapped up by commercial airlines and work as commercial pilots until retirement.

No. The poster has always posted about their experience of military and commercial aircraft. Even just a few days ago on the previous thread. Or perhaps it was even this one.

I really don’t know why they’re being given such a hard time. Anyone who is familiar with aviation/military type threads will be well used to them taking part in the threads to a very high standard.

Well i thought the pictures were nice and I really liked the swimming pool one where she is being tossed in the air. They sre having fun and enjoying their holiday like pretty much everyone does.

Well that’s great! But there are many posters who have inside information and I responded because I didn’t like the rather dismissive tone that was used when @corblimeymlud made a simple observation! , and then the resulting pile on that seemed to be heading her way! 🤷‍♀️

This thread has gone bonkers. @notimagain is a regular fount of aviation information and an all round good chap.

Since you ask - like many of my cohort a long flying career, (multiple decades) quite a few years in the mil (various types, mostly fixed wing) then a long period in commercial...(Long Haul, couple of wide body types...)..

I may not be the quickest on the uptake but hopefully at the very least I picked up some knowledge of what's involved, even if just by osmosis.

I find it surprising that on a very time limited visit, they were able to get that far into the north of Scotland, and be there for longer than it takes to photograph the lake, then turn around and go south again. Imagine some people will be saying 'ah, part of a trip to Balmoral!' but I don't think that's credible. HAM will know though that people seize on a photo as evidence of all sorts.

That's a nice photo, but don't you think it'd be even nicer in full colour rather than the stylised black and while version?

Because the response to @corblimeymlud was unnecessary sneering! That’s why , whereas your post was just factual.

No one is saying that BUT others are entitled to post their own experiences without being mocked.

Fine, why not just keep it all private, especially for the sake of the children?.
