It's something a dear friend (no longer here) used to say when we were younger and lipgloss was all the rage, so its a nod to her and that memory.

Would that be good old Jessica Mulroney?

Thedom · 24/07/2026 10:06

In reference to the arse picture, it reminds me that she never issues photos of herself involved in any family activity, she seems to want to present a disjointed image of their family, particularly that she is not the one taking the photos.

In my family, I am the one who takes most of the photos, its mainly my husband and the kids or the kids alone, but if we had a photographer or videographer following us around it would certainly be images of all of us getting involved in whatever we were up to.

She presents a very bizarre family image.

Really missing the 😂 reaction...

The problem is that when they do a summer photo dump, their intentions are very different to that of the RF.

  • the RF does them for a child's birthday or to mark an occasion. It is clear that there is an outside photographer- Mark Porteous I think. He's tagged. It's clear they are releasing these limited images as an agreement with the media to leave the kids alone at other times.
  • For Meghan, this is a personal album. But it's sort of styled like the RF, but because it doesn't have the same purpose it comes across as a bit fake. Why do you need to release private summer photos anyway? To show that you were in the UK? To prove your relevance? After all, I'd understand if they were linked to her business or her commercial enterprise. This just seems like making a 'see we were there and so all you haters are wrong' kind of point. Which then means the more extreme anti H&M crowd end up scrutinise who is wearing what, whose hair is unbrushed etc. And the cycle continues.
In hindsight they would have been better off, either keeping these kids off all social media OR giving us proper styled glimpses at limited intervals.

This current strategy, just seems a bit desperate and lacking focus.

I rarely wore shoes as a child, they are all copying me.

Two of mine didn’t wear shoes till they were older apart from when they went to school and occasionally at the weekend. My husband who was brought up in Kenya didn’t wear them often and him and his friends would even play football barefoot. My sisters brood have all been brought up in New Zealand and even as adults they’ll sometimes go without shoes just as my 93 year old dad does on occasion. We see so much of Archie not wearing shoes it’s obviously what he prefers and I don’t think it’s any big deal or a sign of neglect.

Starryfifty · 24/07/2026 09:49

But an arse shot. Swimsuit and trainers??

Trainers are comfy on the beach if you’re going for a walk or there are rocks close to the shoreline. I wear them when I don’t want to take trainers and my beach shoes with me. You can clamber over rock pools in your trainers whereas the beach shoes can still mean you going home with a sore foot.

BasiliskStare · 24/07/2026 10:36

I can't see these photos are earning them any money. I assume it is to keep them in the public eye , to try to ameliorate their unpopularity - as in "Ah what a nice photo of H and L in the pool." "what a lovely family" " Meghan with a cute dog , sweet " Now to be fair it is a nice photo of eg H&L in the pool ( lucky they got one of L's arm in front of her face first time eh? ) and if a friend had shown me that privately I'd have said so. The problem is these photos are completely unnecessary. & if they M did need holiday snaps I think it would have been more decorous to leave Althorp out of it.

The one of H&A with the bouquets I just think is crass. Tell me you're going to Diana's grave without etc etc . Suddenly that wasn't truly a private visit. Badly done , Meghan.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 24/07/2026 10:38

I don't know why she released that picture. It's not a flattering shot and looks like she's hoisting her costume up to stop her bum looking saggy. Although maybe she thinks she looks alluring? It's nice of Harry and the kids, I would have cropped myself out of it.

Edited for typo.

CrocsNotDocs · 24/07/2026 10:40

I didn’t wear shoes till high school, except for Sunday church and the annual school photo day. My feet were so hard that I once stood on a thumb tack at school and didn’t notice until I heard clicking when walking across a wooden floor. Regular bare feet kids should handle gravel just fine!

Thedom · 24/07/2026 08:18

It is a sad life for her, always trying to compete with the family she thought she could outshine. This is one of the reasons she is so unlikeable and unpopular in the US and UK.

Dignity is not a word in their vocabulary or actions..

It's a strange collection of photos. Obviously their family time involves someone else taking shots of them ( oh it could be the waiter🙄) . The one with Harry is surprising due to the clothing she has on - Europe has been basking in a heatwave . She's usually half nekkid but not on holiday in a European heatwave? As an aside her hairline looks terrible . It is surprising what she posts at times.

HoldMyWine · 24/07/2026 07:16

No wonder poor Archie has flat feet if they never put shoes on him.
The cellophane wrapped flowers are naff too. If you were going to properly stage the photo the wrappers would be off. No attention to detail as ever.

Harry got someone to nip out to Tesco Express to get some bunches 🤭

I have seen her do this pose before . Is she finding something so hysterical that she can’t even look up ? Or is to show off rings ?

It’s her usual show off the jewellery pose! Must make sure everyone sees she’s wearing Diana’s watch at all times!

BasiliskStare · 24/07/2026 11:16

@jeffgoldblum - Actually Jeff to be fair if I had that watch I'd wear it at all times. Wouldn't shove a random picture of me with on Instagram though. Which is only partly because I don't do Instagram 😊

AnAutumnCrow · 24/07/2026 01:06

As we surmised earlier on these threads, Harry’s in the RAVEC queue (that I imagine is carefully, analytically and professionally triaged) behind politicians and others who are actually at some risk. And who live in, work in and have a function in the UK.

(Anyone got a share token? The Times articles can’t be archived.)

There was something last weekend about Farage wanting 8 protection officers rather than his current single bodyguard

... so none left for Harry

Why are DM doing this after the whole ANL debacle? Of course Meg must welcome comments about her arse in a black swimsuit 🤔 none of her with the kids

DM make money from HAM - they lift pictures for free from Instagram and then get clicks on the pics and thousands ranting in the comments

There’s quite a collection of the late POW available online where she’s wearing a black swimsuit and being photographed in very similar ways to how Meghan is standing.

Has anyone commented on the picture of Archie in the cockpit, not his sister? It’s interesting how a self declared feminist like M sticks to gender stereotypes with her DCs.

CormorantWings · 24/07/2026 11:28

NormalAuntFanny · 24/07/2026 09:43

Can they seriously have taken a dog on holiday in a plane? Then left in in Portugal for the althorp/highgrove speed run. Poor thing.

That's what I was thinking.

CariadDarling · 24/07/2026 11:33

CormorantWings · 24/07/2026 11:28

That's what I was thinking.

The dog could have been in the UK as well if it had all the necessary vaccines etc required.

For info that looks very very much like a BA aircraft, probably a 777, so almost certainly taken pre/post a Long Haul sector (? LAX-LHR)...

Maybe that might put paid to any thoughts that they always fly by private jet.

JSMill · 24/07/2026 11:35

I just read the DM article online and the photo of the dog is at Althorp because Earl Spencer can be seen in the background. Yes that’s a long way for a relatively senior dog.

If you look at that photo though that is not how a plane about to fly sits. Right up close to a building beside a row of parked cars .

CormorantWings · 24/07/2026 09:07

I thought they had their own property in Portugal?

I’m not convinced, @CormorantWings. It’s supposedly in the development that Jack Brooksbank is promoting so they would definitely be close neighbours even if they did have their own property.

Well I've quite probably sat in that very "office" and frankly it doesn't look that wrong to me, but with AI I guess who knows..

To me it looks like the image is taken from the flight deck door (which is offset to the LHS, behind the captain's seat on a 777 or 787) possibly with a wide angle lens.

The aircraft is parked nose in at a gate somewhere (can't help with the where) and looks to me like what you're seeing in the background is a building and possibly baggage containers or similar...

Parked nose in you get very close to structures and objects at some airports

I just looked it up, over 7k comments about 99.9% negative 🫣. What a brand image H&M have.
